This pub, which I visited from France, has a really fun and warm atmosphere that I hope to return to.

What can I say, great pub, pool tables, juke box, everyone sooo friendly. Staff are amazing. Just tried a takeaway, best curry in Caversham.

Visiting from New Zealand, I had a wonderful lunch here. I'd never had a Nepali curry before and it was delicious! The landlady was lovely. Very friendly and inviting. I'll be back one day!

Best curries in Caversham maybe reading. Home made simple menu but a lot better than your standard Indian or Nepali establishment. Staff are super friendly ,nice historical building with ample parking and a pretty decent garden.

Stunning home made food, Sangita runs a really great friendly pub. Always buzzing, Rocky, Angelique and their staff are great at holding the space and always on the ball. Don't overlook the food in this place, its traditional Nepalese food made perfectly and full of flavour, available for take away and eat in. Open fire and sofas, pool tables x 2 and a darts board. Outdoor space for the summer months, loads of space. Check it out.

It’s a pub. A local in need of a facelift and refurb. On a good note, friendly staff…Homemade Nepalese fusion food Music somewhat loud ..but otherwise ok.

On the outside, it looked like a quaint pub, so inviting. I was however disappointed with the beers on offer. Stella, Budweiser, cider or Guinness. Why no ales??? And I spotted the wall depicting two Liverpool players which caused me to further downgrade my rating for this pub. This is Reading, not Liverpool!! You know there is a football team in Reading and it's not Liverpool! Lack of respect for the town it is in makes me not want to come back as well as the poor choice of beers. I could have given it 1 star, but decided on 2 because of the quaintness of the building.

Well priced pub. Advertised real ale, but alas the pub no longer has cask ale. Bottles of Doombar available. Although I didn't eat I did speak to a couple of dinners. Smelt delicious and they certainly enjoyed it. All the staff were friendly. I will definitely visit again.

Amazing curry and momos. The family that run the pub are always so friendly and welcoming. Good beer selection, good atmosphere and a beer garden, what more can you want?

Friendly staff. Really tasty fresh Nepalese food. Really good value. Also, we didn't have the kids with us but it looked family friendly too.

Amazing place to have beer and dinner. Staff always smiling, constantly asking if anything is needed. Food brilliant cooked freshly in pub every day, very tasty. Will definitely go back.

The Red Cow Pub/Restaurant in Star Road in Caversham has just reopened again in June 2018. It's a traditional family & dog friendly pub. The new landlords, Rocky & Sangetta are a nice, friendly young couple from Nepal. The pub has been completely renovated inside & out. There are 4 large TV's in all, a couple of them showing Sky Sports, a covered area outside in the garden with comfy chairs in the smoking area. Also, there’s a small BBQ outside in garden and two fire pits/barbecues for when it's cold or add extra BBQ's. Free Wi-Fi with a good signal, even in the garden. A snug area with comfy sofas & TV. There’s a dart board & pool table. A good selection of lagers, Guinness & some bitters. Parasol benches & tables in garden. Juke box & gaming machines. A nice real fire used in the winter. As it is still new there are only a few small items on the food menu like dumplings & spring rolls. Traditional Nepalise Sukuti. Burgers: chicken & cheese, beef & veggie. chips, fish & chips, veggie samosas, chicken & pork dumplings, chow main: pork, chicken or vegetable. Fried prawn. They are hoping to install a coffee/tea machine soon & are looking at having a karaoke night.

A horrible clicks pub housing half the Amersham Road estate carrying on like a bunch of hoons shouting about. Will not go back

The red cow is really a hidden gem in Reading. The food is top notch, especially the curry! Would definitely recommend their dumplings , which are called ‘momo’. The staff’s very friendly and the space itself is large and ambient. We go there almost everyday now!

Just visited this pub today with my gf and I was surprised to find out the food was really on the top notch. Normally you don't find such good foods on regular pubs but the Nepalese curry's, dumpling and chowmien was simply amazing. And the staff had a big smile through out my stay. I would recommend it to all my friends n family to visit there. With two pool tables, a dart board and 4 tele, it's gonna be my best hangout place from now on. Well done to the new owners.

Football food and service excellent what more do u need 😄 !!! The dumpling or so called Nepalese momo is the best so juicy it melts in your mouth ... nice environment!! Got couple of pool tables slot machines nice sized screens and selections of drinks !!! Excellent staffs .. more over its family business !!! You can play song of your choice too 2£ 7 songs :) ...

I visited the red cow while staying in reading the food is top draw as is the service it’s a friendly pub and not too expensive well worth a visit if you’re in the area the home made samosas where the best I’ve eaten

Bought a Napalese Chicken Curry with chips and have to say... I'm used to dining in very executive environments, this food was exceptional! Loved it! And football on the walls too, cant beat it! (They serve English food. Pints are typically £4 a pint ish)

First time been in February and I like it. It is also close to the town center I think It will take you to walk 10-15 minutes to get there from town center.

Great Nepali food, cheap beer and good vibes Sunday special menu for £10 is a pure win Chicken and lamb curries are really flavoursome
