AJ provided great hospitality for us and for everyone in the establishment. Very professional and can carry a great conversation. Food was amazing and came on time. If you want a pint or some great food come here and you won’t regret it.

Came down from Manchester to catch up with some pals and bands last Saturday. Great staff, friendly atmosphere. Special shout out to the lovely lady bar manager, super warm and friendly. Bbq was fab, and great outdoor space. Would be my local if I lived closer. Well done

Pub was chosen as it was local to Reading West train station. I had not visited before, but the staff were all polite and welcoming. Great atmosphere with a wide selection of alcoholic beverages. Food tasted great, and we did not have to wait long for it to arrive. Live band playing 90's music as that was the theme for the evening, only added to the evening being very enjoyable, would definitely visit again

Been in a few times and it’s always really clean with friendly staff. Excellent outdoor seating that’s very well kept. Good beers. Pub quiz once a week. Good food deals too.

Another great afternoon spent here, nice and busy but no long waits at the bar or for food delivered to your table, AJ and Gaynor are on thier game as the on shift managers and fully aware of what is happening and assisting what I believe was a 'new starter'. Great pub that serves pub style food with a relaxed atmosphere. New owners I have never met or introduced themselves but I only come in for a couple of hours on weekends and am a bit of a grey man keeping out of the lime light. On the whole, a great place for reasonable priced drinks with plenty of offers on drinks. Food is well presented and if you have an issue (seen vary rarely) quickly resolved. My choice to have a couple of drinks and some nibbles on a weekend after working away from home. Keep up the good work.

I have had a rough time recently with various bereavements & health issues.The new boss Genya has only shown me kindness & concern. I work & live alone so making a new friend in her is a blessing. The bar staff are prompt but friendly too. The foods not bad either!

Great family friendly and dog friendly pub with a lovely atmosphere. Good garden and outdoor seating for a sunny day and live music some evenings. The new team are very welcoming - definitely recommend!

Looked nice online and I've just moved to the area. Went along to watch the match at lunchtime and it was even nicer than I thought. Friendly, chilled, spacious and attentive. Best pub experience I've had in a long, long while. Thank you.

Fast and friendly service. Good range of cask and keg beers. Food was better than average pub fare. My burger was nicely cooked and served with really fresh salad and nigh on perfect fries.

Such a lovely place to visit, food was well cooked and didnt take an age to come. We came here first in the summer and the front and back beer gardens are ideal. Plenty of high table seating out the front, and the rear with ample picnic bench seating, half of which is under cover and lit , so perfect for the evenings, or rain. The last time we visited was the week before Christmas. The atmosphere was very friendly and lively.

This is really bad behaviour telling a customer that they can’t make sandwiches as their Busy and they keep on changing it back to the cricket and I have asked him to put the rugby on but they keep on changing it this is not good service this is disturbing I will never be coming back here again!!! All I’m saying is you need to sort this out

Reminiscing about my teenage years when this was my 'local'! Have been twice in 2 days now. Great food on my second visit and good beer/real ale. (They had T.E.A from Hogs Back and Timothy Taylor.) Also, great music on Good Friday evening from Ric and Sarah. We'll have no hesitation in returning, In fact, we will certainly return on many occasions now.

First sent out the wrong order and when the correct order came through it was as a starter not a main that the bar tender offered and that we paid for . Friendly staff and very clean but could do with some work regarding the food.

This beautiful Family run public House. Booked my 65th birthday celebrations here and was looked after so well, we can honestly say, the Team, run by Paul, Kayleigh and James, pulled out all the stops to make sure the day was a memorable and enjoyable one. We booked the Restaurant and had access to the rear gardens. This space is perfect for get togethers for 25 to 30 people Recently restored to a beautiful finish,this community pub has been brought back to life. They supplied a hot and cold buffet which did not disappoint, the quality and presentation was exceptional. The Team liased with us throughout, from booking to the actual day . This pub reopened November 2022 and is proving to be a popular place to visit during these uncertain times. You are greeted with a friendly smile and made to feel special by the well trained staff. The day to day food menus are excellent fayre, simple food, beautifully cooked. James the Head Chef, prides himself on the standard of food he serves to his customers. During the summer months, there will be a BBQ menu with large Pizza oven, and we can't wait. Fully equipped Outside bar and extra large tv are ready to go. We would recommend this pub, not only for it's quality food and beverage, but also for the service and very friendly atmosphere the Team helps provide. Just been to the Rose first time since refurb ,very impressed with service and decor , Nice to see it up and running again ,this is the area of West Reading I grew up in . Good luck to Paul and family .

Turned up for a quiz night and was told they weren't sure whether it was going ahead (fine). But we then asked them a further few times if this was still the case and received the same non helpful answer, we left in the end. Bit of courtesy wouldn't go amiss. Also one of the bartender was hostile

So I visited on their relaunch night and it was absolutely amazing, I went back yesterday and it’s still amazing! Food was absolutely spot on, I had a burger and for the £10 it was value for money. Great range of world beers and local ales. And my favourite NECK OIL ! I will be back family local pub! Thank you

Wow, looking great after it's refurbishment, went for a 50th birthday lunch today, we can certainly recommend the scampi and the chicken tikka! (Coffee was great as well. Thank you guys for a lovely lunch, will be coming back for sure :)

I had a very nice evening, the food wasn't to my liking to the way I thought but the service was awesome at the bar and drinks was to my liking as well as those working there was very friendly.

Food was delicious, if cleanliness was better would be a 5. My son also says that it would be nice to have colouring pages.

UPDATE DISHWASHER NOT EMPTYING, GLASSES RINSED IN DIRTY WATER, STAFF REPORTED GREEN KING BUT TAKES WEEKS TO GET SORTED, BRING SOME IMODIEM..!!! Not staff fault.
