Me, my wife and Mother-in-law had a lovely lunch here today. Food was great and excellent service, thanks Steve and your staff. See you again soon.

We came for lunch with our younger children and felt extremely welcome especially by our waitress Ellie. Food was amazing, we had burgers and the girls had chicken nuggets. Great value for money portions were good and would definitely be returning.

First time in there for 30years, celebrating a friends retirement age. Food was a 100% not long to wait between courses. Friendly staff. We would recommend it. We shall be going back again. Thankyou to the Chef and Staff.

Came here with my friend for lunch I've been before but my friend hadn't as she lives in Swindon. I convinced her it was lovely food and staff friendly as she's a bit of a critic wherever she goes and we weren't disappointed. We were made to feel so welcome and the food was awesome as it is every time I visit My friend said she will definitely be back next time she's in Reading and she will as she loved it

When we came 4 months ago I only had good things to say but today the food was not good at all. They had so many items out of stock then the food they did have wasn't great. My husband asked for a rare steak and it came out well done. I had chick n mix, boneless chicken wings, even a member of staff asked me what it was on my plate when I complained. They were sooooo over cooked and oil literally was ouzing out. I actually only ate my fries in the end. The staff were lovely when dealing with our complaint. We recieved a refund on 2 of our dishes. It's just so disappointing today, I don't know if the chef was different but it wasn't enjoyed.

Not just a good pub, good prices for good food & drinks. Couldn’t recommend it enough.

Service was ok, but the lady didn't listen to my order and had to keep telling her. The food was ok and did not come out together and very slow and was not busy . Half the menu was off.table was dirty and was given no cutlery or napkins.

Useless, stood at bar for 10 mins, still no one working, it was quiet so no excuse for no service, we walked out, they all need a kick up the ass.

There was a group of 15 of us and staff were very friendly and helpful, I unfortunately cant remember ladies name but one of them was extremely lovely always coming over checking on us, making cheeky funny comments which we loved. But also handled everything in there stride. We had 4 young kids in our group but they made them feel welcomed and gave them colouring which helped us adults out. I would deffo come again but not just because of the food (which was also very nice) but mainly the customer service we received very rare these days now that most of time you can order from a phone. So thanks again ladies! Xx

Myself and my partner went back to the Water Tower for lunch yesterday and were very impressed with the food and service we received all round. The atmosphere was a little loud at times with various locals who were situated there but other then that there were no issues all round altogether. Good place to visit for food and service!

Popped back into the the pub after our visit last month. So glad to see they still had great service and friendly staff. It was even better to see that they have a BOGOF promotion on at the moment. so we ate for half price. we will definitely be back next week. Thanks Steve and the team.

We prebooked for a festive lunch but did not pre-order. Irrespective of that, the staff were able to provide us with a very satisfactory meal and were very accommodating with our requirements making for an enjoyable experience. Thank you all.

We used to come regularly when it was still the Bear. Returning now with our families was special and it was a great experience. The food was excellent, deserts fantastic but I want to recognise Charlie. This guy couldn’t have worked harder to make sure we were happy. The reason I’m taking the time to write this review as I believe he deserves to be recognised. I would like to also thank ‘the water tower’ team for the lovely small gifts for our toddlers. Had a great evening here celebrating a friend's birthday. Food was lovely. Pub has a nice atmosphere and was clean and tidy. Really friendly staff. We always have a nice time here.

An outstanding establishment to eat and drink. Staff is well trained and pleasant. A craft beer well maintained, leaving you wanting for more. Well done to all.

The staff are always friendly and they make a fuss of our dog Poppy. The food is nice and it’s a lovely place to go for a meal with my wife

Overall we had a decent food experience but as for the staff after spending over £300 the female staff wasn't very welcoming stood at our and stared at us like we wasn't welcome to th point we had to change pubs please be more aware of your staff and their body language thankyou

I love how this certain guy from the crew remembers how I look forward to seeing snow as someone who comes from a tropical country. This makes me keep coming back as you feel home-y at The Water Tower. This is a testament that they don't just treat you as a customer but have that personalised touch with their guests as well.

Excellent service from Charlie for our table of 22. Best vegan cheese in Tilehurst. Kids loved the food.

Absolutely loved the atmosphere for the euros, couldn’t recommend a better pub for pub grub. The staff are also outstanding and they do go above and beyond to reach our needs.

First time going to the water tower first impression was good nice friendly staff good options of drinks we found a nice quiet corner at the back looked menu lots to choose from my wife had the cheesy stack burger when she loved it was massive with fries onion rings I had the XL mixed grill with sweetcorn as a side order it came with chicken pork sausage and a big bit of steak chips tomato,s and a BBQ sauce all nice and hot the only thing that was disappointing was the sweetcorn it tasted a bit strange on my first bite so didn't eat that table was clean music was great as it was a Halloween thing for the kids who were dancing to chippy music my with joined in with the kids dancing over all we would definitely be going again as we very much enjoyed our visit

The service was great for how busy it was when I visited. Great place to watch football and play darts and lovely food. Definitely visit again!

We came in for lunch and enjoyed what we ate. The reason I did not give full stars for service and atmosphere is due to the female staff member pushing one of the deserts. I think it was a cheesecake special?? We politely declined as we had eaten enough but she kept asking. Then when she walked past again she would ask again. She done the same to the other two tables that were sat close by. I don’t know if there was more of that particular desert defrosted that day or if it was on its last sale date or something, but it got to the point where it felt awkward because there are only so many times you can say ‘no’, and we just wanted to leave. We finished our drinks and left. Can’t say we’ll be rushing back.

Cheap and cheerful pub grub. Great value for money both food and drink. Can get crowded on Friday and the weekend.

We had a family meal on a Sunday. The food was very good and so was the service. I know it is difficult getting 8 meals out together, the roast was not very hot, nor the gravy. However well done

Charlie was a great barman, my Stella was really nice and cold. I ordered a rack of ribs and it came out hot and really well presented. The staff checked back on me and my friends to make sure we were ok.

We recently had lunch at The Watertower upon recommendation and it did not disappoint, food was lovely and can’t fault the staff one young lady stood out as she was pregnant but was still very attentive and polite, will definitely return and recommend.

The food is good but the place is looking very down Update 31.08.24 Shocked that it's been 6 years since we have been back. The mains that we had were very good and also the desert that I had, but my wife had the biscoffi cheese cake and it was very dry and she was disappointed with it. The staff and the service was very good and very welcoming

I sat with my ex wife at table 5, the seat backs were filthy, like years worth of filth! My fish was tiny and the chips must have been nuked by a microwave!
