Really love this. Popped in on the walk home for some food. Ordered three tapas, brisket, cauliflower and aubergine. I added some cakes and coffee carrot and banana. Totally loved it all. The only unusual bit was having the cake brought out before the hot food. The staff are lovely and mega friendly. I can see being back many times. Thank you.

We went for breakfast this morning Sunday 1st September staff were very welcoming we both ordered poached eggs with salmon the server asked if there were any allergies I told her I was lactose intolerant so I didn’t want the hollandaise sauce also no spread on the muffin the server did point out that muffins contain milk so said I could have toast instead which I thought was very helpful of her to point that out I asked if I could have brown bread but she said they didn’t have any which I found a bit strange given there is a market over the road and also Waitrose? The food eventually arrived after some delay but when we cut into the poached eggs they were rock hard also the meal was completely cold. We should have complained but we were waiting to be asked if everything was alright to which we would have complained nobody approached us so we left. The price was £28 which we found very overpriced. This is our second visit and sadly we will not be visiting again very very disappointed. We feel that the place needs a revamp .

Delicious “Miami” brunch and great coffee in Reading, with lovely staff and atmosphere. Wish I could come back for lunch and dinner as well to try out the rest of the great looking menu and cocktail list (or take Alto back to be my local in London!)

The waitress that served us (had purple hair?) was lovely. Food is always great at Alto. Recommend 100% :)

I used to visit this cafe monthly with my dog and loved that it was dog friendly. However, on my last visit, there was a dog which was barking and scaring my dog. Hence my dog wanting to be on my lap. I was told by the waiter that my dog had to be on the floor otherwise we would had to leave and did not address the other dog in the cafe which was causing the distress. My dog was settled on my lap and was just wanting to be on my lap due to it being scared. I struggle with the idea that if a placed states its dog friendly and also not allowing a dog to sit on the owners lap, especially due to the circumstances of another dog. Unfortunately due to this experience with the poor customer service and how my dog was treated I will not be returning and will seek a more dog friendly cafe in the future. Great food for people without dogs!

Went in the evening, was very chill. Ordered and paid by app, families playing board games. Food good.

The food is great, and they have all day breakfast! In the daytime, the lighting is a little dim but that is a design choice and can easily be overlooked with the food.

The staff are always really nice here and the atmosphere is relaxed. We've been fairly regularly and enjoy the varied menu and there are a good range of vegetarian options. The deals on Monday and Tuesday night are good value for money. My only quibble is that it's difficult to work out which drinks are included in the deals without adding a surcharge. Keep up the good work!

Unfortunately not for me here. Dirty tables, unpleasant smells, noisy, dirty cutlery. Staff were rude when asked to wipe the table.

Birthday breakfast with family, first time in Alto Lounge. Liked by daughter as Gluten free menu offered. Very pleasant and efficient staff, food served to table in good time. Lounge breakfast very nice and well presented.

Food can be a bit variable. Some dishes are great, some a bit disappointing. The breakfasts are a solid choice.

There are better cafes in Caversham.

Usually visit Bosco Lounge which is fabulous but wanted to try a different location. We were made very welcome with big smiles. Food is fabulous and not too expensive. They have a lot to choose from if vegan. Such an interesting place to sit in. I love looking at all the different pieces of art, lampshades and mirrors. Feel so relaxed and welcome here. Definitely visit again.

I come here quite frequently and i'm always impressed with the quality of food and drink, the menu really offers some great options and the waiting time is very efficient. Most importantly the staff are great too, plenty of friendly faces to speak with. I was recently served by Sam and I felt very well looked after, excellent customer service.

Not unpleasant atmosphere Food is pretty standard Disappointing that the condiments supplied involve the cheapest road side cafe red sauce, (cos there’s certainly no tomatoes in it) Which when applied kills any flavours on the plate. Overly vinegar taste and too artificial. Considering how large this company is why can’t you invest in Heinz or Stokes ketchup? The only brand where you need to take your own ketchup, sad really. Sometimes it’s the little things that count sometimes. Nice place for coffee and chats though

Fluctuating quality of staff,appear disinterested or busy chatting with friends or visitors or with the visiting friends. Extra chorizo+2 on Shakshuka consisted of 3 thin slices of chorizo. Berro Lounge can be a good role model in sharing good practice.

Nice relaxed Cafe Lounge and in the style of others in the group, nice short walking distance from the Crown Plaza hotel where we staying nearby. not as large as others in the group but still a great quality breakfast

This cafe \ bar has a wonderful and relaxed vibe. With mismatched but unique tabed and chairs and natural wood flooring throughout. Together with the wall art and decor, this all adds to the charm of the venue. With a wide variety of food and brink on offer, including vegiterisn options. I had a choice of 3 tacos very very nice, my wife had the sausage muffin and said it was excellent. Total bill was quite high for brunch but on the whole it was worth it. 2nd time I've been for brunch and will go again.

A very popular eating place for most times of day. It is a nice mix between a bar and a cafe, attracting all age groups. It is becoming increasingly popular with vegans as it continues to extend its separate vegan menu.

The two of us both had the Lounge Breakfast. Very friendly service, order at the bar and they bring your drinks over. Cooked breakfasts were very nice with good quality ingredients. Addition of black pudding would be good. £10 for the breakfast so perhaps a bit more than Nathan’s or the Gorget nearby but felt it was decent value.

We came for breakfast, along with our dog. Staff were very friendly and gave treats to our dog, which she loved! I had the the Smashed avocado breakfast which was very tasty and my partner had The Lounge Big Breakfast, which was also delicious, generous and with great quality ingredients.

Really nice place, the waiters are very kind and ready for every need. They have a specially gluten-free menu (they don't guarantee non-contamination) and I have to say that what we chose was delicious. I didn't expect to find such a place but it passed all the tests.

Only went for coffee but looked at the menu and it seemed amazing will be going back soon for food

I was really impressed they did a GF menu so I went for an all day breakfast and the person I was with ordered the large breakfast. Mine came out first (so the food wasn't presented to us at the same time and theirs came about 5 mins later)! When mine arrived it was cold, and the fried egg was flat, egg yolk just cooked into the white, and it was snotty in texture on top. I didn't complain because it was extremely busy and I get anxious, but unfortunately I paid £35 for the food and two drinks and didn't enjoy any of it and felt it was a waste of time and money going there and I hardly go out. Unfortunately I will not return there.

We had a fantastic time last night. We were a party of 11 celebrating a 16th Birthday. The staff could not have been more helpful and accommodating, especially as we had several food allergies in our group. It was great to know that they do not have nuts on the premises and there is an extensive Gluten Free menu, one of the best I have seen in years, the GF Maple chicken wings were amazing! The food was fantastic and the atmosphere was great, we will definitely be back. Thank you Alto Lounge for a lovely evening.

We've never had a bad experience, went with family for my birthday and the food and staff were amazing as always.

A wonderful evening. The food was simply sublime and an amazing gluten free menu. So much care taken over my food the chef even double checked ingredients for the pudding with me to make sure it was all suitable. Staff were friendly, welcoming and generally topped off a fab evening!!

Visited with colleagues, food was top notch and very reasonably priced for a central location. Staff were friendly, knowledgeable and enthusiastic about the food. Additional bonus of live music, would recommend to friends and family!

Went for an evening meal with friends. They like going here as it has good gluten free options. I had 3 tapas dishes and all 3 were delicious. Hummus with pita bread, salt and pepper squid and beef quesadilla. For dessert I had white chocolate and vanilla cheesecake which was probably one of the nicest cheesecakes I’ve ever eaten. Staff really friendly and helpful. You can order on an app too. The only negative was the coke was very flat and syrupy. Would recommend and will return.

My go to place in Caversham. Breakfast all day, or the soup & 1/2 sandwich. Mondays are tapas nights. Great coffees.

Not kid friendly at all!!! The waitress was so rude when my baby was playing with the tiny sugar jar and put some of his bread sticks in it. The waitress was sooooo rude with her 'mum shaming'. She actually said to me 'well if that was my kid i wouldn't let them'. There is a polite way to talk to your paying customers. She could see i was struggling to keep him occupied whilst i tried to enjoy my lunch. Thanks for making me feel like the worse mum for finally getting out of the house and getting some food cooked for me.

As a meat-eater, I was pleasantly surprised by the plant-based delights at this vegan cafe. The pumpkin spice latte hit the spot despite the distracting rice bits from the rice milk. The loaded siriacha chips paired creamy, spicy and meaty flavors to perfection. The showstopper was the ingenious "egg" in the croque madame, a convincingly runny sunny-side up made from flax and applesauce. Even the bread pudding shone, with plenty of richness sans raisins. Don't write off this inventive vegan fare - omnivores will be shocked at how satisfying these animal-free options can be.

Stumbled across this great restaurant this afternoon. So many cultures covered by different food offered and a lot of veggie dishes on offer too. We had tapas and all dishes were great. I took a chance on the honeyed whipped feta but it was amazing. The Churros and the cheesecake were amazing too. All food lovely and freshly presented. Seemed to be a mix of folks having food or just cake and coffee. Suitable for all ages. Staff were so helpful and friendly. Wished I lived closer so I could try other dishes I fancied there, there were so many. Thanks for a lovely meal.

Went for breakfast with my partner. Food was horrible. Sausages didn't look or taste like meat, hash brown was a mouthful of grease, egg was frazzled no yolk left, beans tasted cheap and they wanted to charge me over £35 for it (2 x breakfasts and 2 drinks)... absolute joke... got a refund and will never walk into one of these chains again for food. Sad really as it used to be nice, and I didn't mind paying for it back then!

This is a local favourites of ours. Easy to order, great hospitality and good menu. Always buzzing and popular with all age groups. We had a late brunch today which was lovely.

It is located on the north side of Church Street just north of the Caversham Bridge. It is right off the street and has a few tables outside but I would recommend eating inside. The inside has a pub-like atmosphere with a wood floor, wood tables, pictures all over the wall and a bar along one side. We were greeted and seated remarkably quickly. The tables are numbered and ordering can be accomplished by either ordering online (pretty efficient and quick) or going up to the bar. I visited this place twice in the week that I was in the area and got an egg sandwich the first time and a burger the second time. Both were excellent. I would also recommend their ciders and ales. I tried the cider and it was one of the best I have had. Overall, this is a great choice for a meal if you are in the area.

Very nice bang,bang chicken. Like the the large sliced pieces of chilli which made it easier to avoid. Would suggest more coconut sauce as noodles over powering by end off meal. Shame to see a used tea bag on the radiator next to our table.

Not a place where I would like to eat again. Noisy , has some kind of smell. Glassware full of limescale. We were sat at a that wasn’t table. Told staff but she didn’t bother coming back to clean. Sorry not coming back

Loved it. From the Korean chicken wings to the decor. Everything was great. Cannot forget to mention to exceptional staff. One lady in particular was very attentive to our table and was an absolute customer service legend. I'm sorry I didn't get your name but we spoke about your lovely skirt from Vinted.

A place to visit on your own or in a group, at any age. Very family friendly.

Excellent service, good vegan brekkie and plenty of options for a variety of dietary needs. Fairly pricey at £10 but a good mix of baked beans/mushrooms/tomatoes/hash brown/falafel/greens&peppers/toast apparently covered with vegan “bacon” plus £3 for coffee. Next time I may try a smaller, cheaper mix of breakfast extras. I sent the meal back to heat up but this was not a problem and staff were friendly and attentive. Fairly lively atmosphere but not too loud and staff were very active in dealing with a situation where a customer became ill and collapsed (he recovered).

Vegan breakfast very good and very hearty, husband enjoyed his carnivore breakfast. Service was very good, staff were friendly and attentive. This was our first visit, plan to return for an evening meal in the future.

Nice place to meet friends, food usually good. However, last time a group of us met, there was live music. It was so loud we could not hear each other speak, which was a shame because it was my friend's retirement do. Would check this before arranging to go to Alto lounge in future. Please could live music be much quieter? After all it is an eating place for socialising.

This is a kind of chain so I know the food is pretty good, my main issues were one of the wait staff were dressed completely different to anyone else so it was hard to know if they worked there, especially with their mannerisms and behaviour, it was just a bit odd but we only saw her at the start. This place had loads of screaming kids, to the point it was getting ridiculous and I could not hear my partner talk, management should politely ask the mothers to be parents as they seem to just be loudly chatting about hard it is being a mother whilst simultaneously doing nothing apart from drinking and eating... sounds a very hard life.. Another noise complaint was the staff were absolutely slamming empty bottles into the bin, it was such loud high pitch smashing constantly, keeping people on edge, even a few other customers flinched each time so please stop doing that, if you are getting out aggression go kick one of the screaming kids. The mens toilet roll dispenser was broken and could not dispense toilet roll, please get a different and better functioning one.
