Looking for a place to eat lunch, I happened across St Mary's Cathedral Cloister Cafe. There is an excellent choice of hot or cold items. I chose a baked potato with tuna mayonnaise and it was served with a salad. This was followed by toffee cake with pouring cream. I thought it was good value for money. The cafe itself is scrupulously clean and there is table service. I would not hesitate to recommend this quiet, friendly cafe in the heart of a busy city.

A great little gem in the heart of Newcastle, run as a local business with passion for service to the people. A warm welcoming astomosphere with a rustic feel to the decor which makes it feel less commercial. Prices are half of the going rate for the other businesses which makes it more appealing. Great work keep it up!

I am so glad to have discovered this thanks to my work mates! Working in the vicinity nearby, I often stop here for lunch with my workmates (usually on a Friday). The atmosphere is relaxed, the service is second to none, and the food is amazing! Liz (one of the servers) is absolutely lovely and she always greets our group cheerfully and with a smile on her face! Two of my favourites is their lasagna and their fish and chips. For dessert, me and my workmates keep craving for their apple pie! Absolutely *chefs kiss*. They also have a lot of options if you're a feeling peckish. They have a variety of sandwiches, quiches and soups to try - even some cakes and pastries that you can see displayed behind a glass counter. For drinks options, they also offer a variety of coffee, tea and soft drinks. Anything and everything to suit everyone's palate! If you're not sure which one to pick, Liz also makes great recommendations! Food is really delicious and good quality, and you don't even have to spend a fortune! Absolutely love coming here - and the next time I do, I'll make sure to take photos, to add to this review!

Lovely little cafe adjoining the city Cathedral. Having dined there before, we had pre-booked well in advance for christmas fayre. After mass in the Cathedral we went straight for our christmas fayre lunch. Shown into the main seating area(there is a small conservatory type area too, as well as outside seating for better weather.) The room had a fireplace adorned with christmas garland, candle holders, flowers and log basket. Christmas felt reindeer and bells in the windows. Green table cloths and gold candle holders dressed the tables. Christmas crackers also on tables. For the price of £15.95 a three course meal included.... One drink either wine (red or white)/ tea or coffee and mints (ours were forgotten but no worries as were full after lunch) Food choices were... Starters: Soup served with crusty bread roll or Prawn Cocktail Main course: Turkey served with roast potatoes/carrot/sprouts.turnip/stuffing/pigs in blankets and lashings of gravy and a pot of cranberry sauce. or Salmon and vegetables Dessert: Christmas pudding and brandy sauce or Individual sherry trifle. My husband and I both opted for the soup and Turkey dinner. We chose different desserts. I opted for the individual christmas pudding in brandy sauce Husband the sherry trifle. The three courses were lovely and very filling! Staff pleasant. Service good. We were not rushed. Lovely start to a day christmas shopping and will be a new christmas tradition for us. Won't wait that long to be back though, as food very reasonable and surroundings lovely. Very handy for railway station too. A must stop when visiting Newcastle-upon-Tyne.

Needing to wait for over two hours for a train, I spotted this cafe which is part of St Marty's Cathedral, just across the street from Newcastle railway station. It has nicely laid out tables in a spotless room with charming and very helpful staff. The range of food and drink is simple but the food was excellent. I had soup with a roll. The roll was notable because it was so deliciously fresh. The special main course was fine but I followed it up with a slice of apple pie which I rate as one of the best I have had.

Well, where do I start!! I often go to this area to eat, I'd never heard of this place until my daughter and Son in law invited me for breakfast today. It's quite typical and fitting with its location. As I say, I've visited other eateries in the area. This place delivered on all fronts. A warm and friendly welcome, very efficient service (it's quite small, so you only get in if you're lucky enough to arrive at the right time). The breakfast lived up to the billing and some!!! I couldn't eat it all as its size outweighed any thing I've ever experienced, I'm sorry I can't reveal the cost because I didn't ask, when I got the bill for the 4 of us I just paid as it was definitely worth whatever they charge. The team of staff didn't disturb us unnecessarily even though there were people waiting for seats. If you're anything like me, you know when it's time to get up and make way for others. I would definitely recommend a visit but make sure your appetite is ready for the feast to come.

Top pub in the old Jesmond Railway Station. Hidden away and you wouldn’t know you’re right next to the city centre. Very nice atmosphere and pleasant staff with a good selection of beer.

Really great place. Excellent food, beautifully presented. Enjoyed the wine pairing, one pairing shared between two was perfect. Adam was a lovely host, friendly and attentive.
