The best restaurants serving British food in England

Stayed for a couple of nights in a very clean & spacious dog friendly room. Met friends for Sunday lunch, & enjoyed one of the best 3-course meals ever. Roast beef was spot on, as was the very boozy tiramisu afterwards. Breakfast both mornings was also very good, with very fresh orange juice, omelettes & full English. All the staff were very friendly, & made such a fuss of our border collie. A lovely short break & highly recommended.

El servicio es genial y la comida es buena, las bebidas son buenas también y los precios son altos, pero de nuevo, ese es solo el estándar para Londres. Las porciones de comida mataron mi alma 😣

Absolutely amazing experience. The staff are extremely professional and I was particularly impressed by the Sommelier as I was choosing the wine. The food was exactly what we expected based on the restaurant having a Michelin Star. We will definitely be returning for the tasting menu.

We went there for the first time last night, and we will definately go again. Lovely place. You can tell a lot of love and effort has gone into it. Food/service was 10/10.

Excellent quality food with a wide variety of choices. Prices are very good and the portion sizes excellent. Service was excellent and the food and drinks delivered very quickly. Friendly and efficient service. Lovely ambience.

Wonderful cafe in the middle of Dartmoor. Quite a surprise to find somewhere like this. Really good food and service.

We've visited 3 times for meals and we have had consistently lovely service and fantastic food and drinks. Can't wait to come back and try something else from the brilliant menu.

Wonderful experience, top notch food and special teas. The staff was very helpful as well, they answered all our questions and were very accommodating.

We booked a table at Matthews bistro for our honeymoon getaway in the lakes. The food was incredible, the Sauvignon Blanc was fantastic & the service topped it all off. Our waitresses were so hospitable. I had the seabass as a main & it was so good I’m going to try recreate a version at home! Thank you for a wonderful experience.

Had a fabulous meal this evening. Two of us had the vegan wellington, it was amazing, the others had the steak and ale pie, and chicken and leek pie. all very good. Staff lovely and very friendly

These guys accommodated 9 of us for lunch with 4 kids and a dog. Superb attentive service and delicious food. Healthy too 😀 Thankyou. Highly recommend
