One word - excellent! Food is truly amazing! Staff are exceptional - welcoming and friendly. Atmosphere is relaxing and inviting. Graeme is a fabulous host who ensures all of his guests enjoy the time spent here! Chocolate mousse is simply divine!! Would highly recommend!

Honestly, the best pub roast north of the river. The food was outstanding and they have a great choice of drinks as well. Can’t recommend it highly enough.

Delightful servers but isn't it always annoying to be seated somewhere chilly and dark looking at empty, well-lit tables, especially if you booked for the relatively quiet opening spot at 12.00? We had a top-notch Bloody Mary (it was Sunday) and a selection of roasts. The vegetarian Wellington hit the spot but our veggie wanted more gravy. The porchetta was well-cooked but I wanted a bit of zest or fennel rolled in. The beef was top notch and beautifully pink the beefeater wanted another slice. Whatever the puree was at the bottom of the plate (squash?), it tasted scrumptious. Roasties were equally amazing though not overly crunchy. Sunday lunch is about abundance so a little more of everything - two carrots and two cabbage leaves - would make this a new favourite roast spot. Still give me quality over piles of badly cooked food any day.

Unlike some other pubs in the area, we were warmly greeted when entering the Wilmington. We loved the ambience and wait staff were very engaging and attentive. I had a Chicken pot pie with glazed carrots and it was excellent.

Excellent food in a wonderful pub. With an array of roast choices available across London, this is by far one of the best in terms of quality food and service by a great attentive team.

Sunday Roast was fantastic and the kitchen serves until pretty late for a Sunday. Beautiful dining room and the service was great. Highly recommended.

Food was good, service was good. Quite noisy but it’s a pub so to be expected. Clean Cutlery wasn’t provided between courses which was a bit disappointing. Good value.

Sunday roast was ok but service was extremely slow. Wanted to have a dessert as well but as we waited more than 20 minutes for our plates to be cleared after we finished, we decided to ask for the bill and leave. Do not recommend.

This was a pre theatre lumch so we didn't stay long and to begin with were almost alone. Our waitress was friendly and helpful. I chose the aubergine dish which was delicious.

Went for Sunday lunch with my aunt before going to Sadlers Wells. We had the sharing rack of lamb which was beautifully cooked as were all the vegetables. They were super busy and service was a bit slow but we weren't in a hurry so we weren't bothered. Would highly recommend and it will be our new pre ballet dining place.

What a gem. What a find. 13 of us ate here prior to a show at Saddlers Wells Theatre. We were 20 mins late because of trains and timing but were served very quickly and still able to get to the theatre in good time. Staff were very attentive. Food was presented well and everyone’s was hot. I can recommend the chicken special. The flavours were sublime. The Fish and Chips were enjoyed and the Steaks were also complimented. Bonus, we could pay cash and no obligatory inflated service charge. We are already planning a return before seeing Swan Lake in January .

Great place to eat. This was a pre-Sadlers Wells dinner and drinks. The food was lovely. Delivered swiftly and efficiently. The building is well styled and well looked after and the staff are friendly.

After catching a matinee at Sadler's Wells, we came to this absolute gem for dinner! The staff were so welcoming and friendly, and the food? Mouthwatering. Seriously, if the blackcurrant sorbet's on the menu, do yourself a favor and get it—pure bliss! This place has all the cosy vibes of a proper local pub. We’ve already booked our next visit. Can’t wait to return!

Reserved a table on-line, same day of our planned visit, three in our party and we all ordered roast dinner, each different, the pork loin was amazing, roasties and Yorkshire pudding perfect, portion just right, flavour and variety of the veg was great, finished off with lovely deserts, table service couldn't be faulted, wouldn't hesitate to go again, wonderful experience start to finish

Really good meal last night, service, ambience, food all excellent. Went there for dinner after a show at Sadlers Wells, will definitely book again.

Place chosen through Opentable when filtered the search as ‘neighbourhood hidden gem’. It was great choice to catch up with a friend. High ceiling with natural light coming from the roof above, pleasant decoration and nice padded seating. Waitress's really friendly and efficient. The medium rare steak was well prepared, the fries were crisp and the chocolate sorbet as desert was a great final touch! Will surely come back!

Fantastic food! Would highly recommend any of their Sunday roasts. Service was variable, with good service prior to the meal and a lack thereof during and after. Overall a lovely place to go for a meal.

Checking in for our booked table was very confusing- there was a sign on the bar showing where to wait, but we missed it as it was partly hidden. Once seated the service was good and we enjoyed the meals. If there was one criticism of the roast beef dinner would be to have less quantity of meat (there was loads) at a slightly better quality and more thinly sliced - as it was is was quite chewy and difficult to eat, so had to cut it down to very small manageable pieces. Vegetables were very tasty as was the house bitter.

Got seated on our appointment time which was ok. However order was not given into the chef correctly so a dish was missing then the servers excuse was she heard but simply forgot to add it. Two roast plates had plenty of veg and then two were awful with hardly any one had the literal butt hard end of the cabbage given as an offering. Vegetables are the cheapest part of that meal and were none existent with all this meat piled on top and so rare it was dripping blood. Yes toast beef should have some pink to it but thick huge cuts with blood dripping out shows it was rushed. It felt rushed and sloppy and the next table to us was also upset with the server. I wouldn’t come back again.

We had a lovely lunch reunion at the Wilmington. The lunch menu was limited but understandable on a Monday. Flat bread menu looked good although did not have. Service from Amanda was perfect. Restaurant area very pleasant and all areas immaculate. Wine lovely and served very well. Thank you.

Welcomed at the bar and shown to our table immediately even though we were early. Orders for drinks and food not rushed. In fact, we were there for just under two hours for starters, mains and pudding. Lovely and efficient service by Hannah

We’ve been on a roast tour of London and this one (my pick) has topped the list so far! The staff were great (bonus points for being northern), the roast was delicious and reasonably priced. Between us we tried the Turkey, Lamb and Porchetta. The wine was lush, as was the sausage roll and beef shin crumpet to start. Would highly recommend and will certainly go back!

We met for a family occasion and we chose the middle-eastern flatbreads with hummus. Portions were generous and we couldn't eat it all! Service was friendly and professional. I like the ambiance of this London pub. The walls were covered in interesting art.

We had a very pleasant lunch with charming service. We both chose the burger and sticky toffee pudding. The burger was delicious in all respects except for the brioche bun. It is surprising that chefs are still choosing brioche, which is wholly inappropriate for burgers. Brioche is too sweet for meat and cheese, and the consistency is too soft, which means that the bread does not soak up the delicious juices properly but turns slimy, spoiling everything. A more substantial dough, e.g. ciabatta, would be very much better. The sponge in the sticky toffee pudding was slightly overcooked, making it dry, but the generous lake of toffee sauce dealt well with that and the vanilla ice cream was delicious. The only flaw was that in my pudding there was a small hard piece of what seemed like prune stone, which should not have been there. But we had a great time, and a glass of very good shiraz from a newly opened bottle. Excellent.

We had a perfect dining experience! We were seated quickly, the staff were very personable and pleasant. The food was delicious, I had the baked chicken legs and my wife had the fish and chips. Dessert was rhubarb and blood orange eton mess. Prices were reasonable and I would highly recommend!

Business meeting for 6 people - 5 ordered fish and chips which looked great on the plate. Chips were hard and dry- fish was too heavily battered and just tasted of batter which was overpowering - all 5 commented on how disappointing the meals were. Staff were excellent and welcoming and atmosphere was good too . such as shame the food did not perform

Went to the Wilmington for Sunday Roast to bring a few out of town friends and have bookmarked this place for all future visitors and for our own Sunday Roast needs. The food was reasonably priced and well portioned with a good range on the menu including vegetarian roast as well as british staples like fish and chips and scotch eggs. The Sunday Roast is available with either beef, chicken and pork. On the day we went there was also a daily special of lamb (sharer portion) and a cote de beouf as well. Unfortunately the lamb did sell out (we went for an early evening dinner) so if you want to sample the specials, I would go earlier to avoid disappointment. Scotch eggs had a lovely rich runny yolk and the pork and black pudding layers were well seasoned and cooked well. The bone marrow on toast is a gargantuan starter which is well worth the value. Particularly like that it was served with crumpets enabling you to spread in and load them up with the bone marrow. For how much bone marrow you get though, I think a couple more crumpets are needed! Staff are lovely and friendly and happy to explain anything on the menu and give good recommendations. The beer and wine selection, naturally being a pub, was great and offered well known brands as well as a good range of specialty spirits. Great atmosphere and tucked away from the hustle and bustle of Kings Cross, Angel and Farringdon.

Fantastic Sunday roast (I had porchetta, Mr had beef), with all the trimmings. Great Monday night dinner also of steak, and chicken pie. Nice atmosphere, polite and prompt service, and good food reasonably priced. Highly recommend.

The range of food is limited. The prices are high for a Greene King pub. The service was excellent. More real ales would be appreciated. This is my third visit to the Wilmington.

Had the theatre menu that seemed good value for non-vegetarians but mine not so as main was mushrooms in a creamy sauce with fries that was lovely at first but then too sickly to finish, especially after the starter had a viniagarette sauce which was acidic. My friends had 2 pieces of cod piled high on potatoes with added greens.

We went for Sunday dinner, the members of the party who had the roast beef were disappointed finding it to be very chewy and quite difficult to eat, although it was nice tasting. Otherwise the other meals and vegetables were very nice tasting.

The build out and ambience are lovely, warm and cozy. The tables are not too close together either. Our server, Teresa, was attentive, without being overbearing. It was Mother’s Day, and Mother’s received a homemade baggie of fudge. The food came out quickly but we were not rushed through our meal. We had the roast chicken and roast chicken, both moist and not overcooked. Would love to dine again. The bar is very cozy.

Best roast in a long time. We had the pork and the veggie and both were great. Cauliflower cheese was immense. Will 100% be recommending to friends and will be back.

A really lovely pub which we'll visit again whenever we're in the area. It's a very charming place in which to spend an hour or two. Nice staff and extremely attractive decor.

Nice pub, with a good selection of traditional dishes, including some vegan/vegetarian options. Service was basically absent at the dining tables, though, but they still went ahead and added a service charge to our bill, which I found distasteful.

Ate at the restaurant. Service was very good, waitresses were polite and smiley. Ambience is lovely, there is ample space between tables and the decor is well-finished and typical of a traditional pub. We were let down by the food, which was a bit of a mix. The steak was good, and so was the onion soup. I found the burger very heavy, it sat on my stomach for hours afterwards. The sides (fries and salad) was incredibly salty, we left the salad untouched. Be aware the kitchen is slow, we ordered at 6 o’clock, food arrived at 6.40. Prices in keeping with the area. I would not go back for food, definitely would go back for drinks.

We were around Exmouth market area and fancied a drink and something to eat. This pub looked great from the outside so we thought we’d give it a go. Very nice atmosphere inside, love the brickwork walls. Service was excellent. Half of the pub is for dining, and half is the bar area. We weren’t bothered about a full on dining experience so opted to sit in the bar area. For food, one of us had a steak, and two of us had the cottage pie sharing plate that was on the specials board. Food was fantastic, high quality restaurant food but in a pub (which is rare to find) and at pub prices too. Once we were eating we were offered drinks from the table, which is nice as most pubs you have to leave your food to go back to the bar. Didn’t catch the staffs names but they were great. I don’t think I could find anything wrong with this pub if I tried! It will now be somewhere I travel to for a meal out rather than finding something local to me.

First time there for Sunday Lunch yesterday and it was hands down one of the best Sunday Roast we have had in a very long time. I had the Beef and my partner had the Porchetta we both shared sides of cauliflower cheese and pigs in blankets. I thought my Beef was delicious - decent think slices, with proper roast potatoes that actually test like potato and a rich gravy. Then I tried my partner's and hers meat was even better !!! Given our table was also relatively late in the day (4.45pm) even tasted completely fresh and was served steaming hot. Plus all reasonably priced including a fantastic bottle of Rioja. Would highly recommend and definitely visiting again.

Absolutely fantastic Sunday roast! Best I’ve had in years. Love this place Everything here was spot on. I know a Michelin star roast that could take some pointers from these guys. Thank you for not disappointing.
