Love the barn. Little gem on Holloway Road. Loveliest friendly staff, fresh delicious food, a go to for me for 10 years!

This lovely family-run all-day brunch spot has consistently proven to be the best within miles. The coffee is great & the food is to die for. The staff here are exceptional, managing the lunch rush like it's nothing. There's plenty of space, as the small shop front opens out to the rear, and the vibe is wonderful. I truly cannot recommend this place highly enough.

Hey, this place is great for eggs benedict and various brunch items~~!! If you are an Arsenal fan, it would be a good idea to have coffee and brunch here, watch a game, or take a stadium tour. There is no restroom near the stadium. I ordered iced coffee and eggs Benedict here, but instead of the spinach topping, I ordered smoked salmon underneath the eggs. I remembered!! Eggs Royale Sikkim. The salmon, toasted baguette bread, and soft-boiled eggs were fantastic, and it was a really energizing meal for me who was tired from traveling. The clerks are very friendly and the prices are quite reasonable.

Enjoyed my food, good sized portion of eggs Benedict and a standard bottle of Diet Coke. Like everywhere in the area they put their prices up for match days which is annoying but what can you do. Adds about £5 per plate on to the usual price. Food was pretty tasty, plenty of hollandaise sauce. They could do with someone else in the kitchen to help if size permits as service was slow when people are generally looking to eat quickly and go to the game.

Had a fabulous brunch at the barn today before the game. Service was quick and the food.was awesome. Had the barn breakfast and eggs benedict! Definitely be back here before or after a game. There were also great cakes and pastries in the window that I might be tempted by next time!

I can’t see enough good things about the barn, incredible breakfast, quick service and the tastiest of food! My friend got the avocado toast and I got the grilled goat cheese on toast and because they were such big portions, we were able to split it half-and-half and have two excellent meals! My Fiancé also had the big barn breakfast, which kept him full for the rest of the day!

Another Flat white place no matter what you ordered. It was also cold.

I always mean to post a review so it’s long overdue. The Barn is a lovely cafe that serves great coffee and delicious food. All the staff are friendly attentive and helpful.

We initially was going to another local eatery. Having entered it we decided against it, they had no milk!! However we found this little gem, The Barn. Wow!! A fantastic brunch which in my view was exceptional in taste, presentation and with a friendly smile. A lovely atmosphere and décor enhanced by a very attractive waitress. When in the area again the 4 of us will seek this little treasure out again.

I don't know how they maintained that level of quality of food and coffee on match day with that many people coming in and out of the restaurant. Excellent place. The coffee is excellent, no need for milk or sugar. And the Eggs Benedict was wonderful.

No mention of you being closed for a holiday anywhere on google, your website or any of your social media platforms. Was supposed to be meeting a friend for breakfast before she got a flight, only to arrive and find you’re closed. It would have taken 2 mins to update your listing on google to let people know before they physically get there to a closed shutter and a sign.

Food is good with lot of choice. Atmosphere is nice. Not cheap and bit noisy on Saturday morning. However there is plenty of seat and staff is very friendly. Solid choice in the area !

This place is very easy to miss as from the outside it looks tiny. It is on Holloway Road next to the Library. There are a display of cakes in the window. They are delicious! I've tried a few (my poor disappearing waistline). My favourites are the banana, honey & almond cake and the brownies. Steps lead down into a very cosy and relaxed restaurant. There is a good selection of tables and seats. The menu is mainly all day breakfast and lunches. We visited on a Saturday afternoon and were lucky to find a table. It is very popular! The food is well presented and very good value. I wish I had gone for their special full breakfast as that looked delicious. My only gripe is that the waiter took a while to bring my freshly made juice but it was a very busy afternoon.

Nasty service. After looking at the menu, we were ready to place our order. I motioned to a member of staff who was walking past and asked if we could place our orders. He was visibly annoyed and told me to 'be patient'. He then went on to give me a talking-to about patience before he would take my order. In my view, a customer should not be reprimanded for simply wanting to order, and his behaviour came across as rude, condescending, and offensive. We left The Barn as a result, and had a pleasant lunch at Zia Lucia across the road instead.

This is my number one favourite place for a brunch in London! Never found another place with such a great quality & flavour! Nobody can match their scrambled eggs - I wish I could go every single day! Highly recommended for a brunch experience you’ll never forget!

LOVELY cafe. It's spacious, the food & drinks were delicious and even on a Saturday afternoon they welcomed me working on my laptop for a bit. (wifi was good too) Will definitely return and highly recommend!

Great place, the coffee is superb and if is not busy is a great location to work. A few weeks ago I took my bike to a nearby shop for a service and was working here while the bike got fixed. Great internet connection. Last time I visited was with the family, our girls loved the lasagna. I had the halloumi breakfast which was alright but the protein salad was delicious. I'm going back to ask for the balsamic vinegar they used. We loved it! We didn't try the pastries but they look so tempting, we are definitely coming back.

Nice and friendly local spot. Fast wifi, great coffee and cosy downstairs rooms. Spent the morning working here between meetings then enjoyed a frittata for lunch.

Nice interior, friendly owners. But way too pricey for Holloway. £14 for their Barn breakfast - two fried eggs on unbuttered toast, one pork sausage (not a Cumberland as stated), overcooked bacon rasher, half a small tomato, small portabella, nice home made beans though. And an old re-used Heinz ketchup bottle filled with nasty red liquid! Pot of tea for one £3.20 - about as much tea you'd get in a small mug, is a bit of a con. Their website menu is almost 10 years out of date so don't use that as a guide.

Lovely coffee on the way to the emirates stadium from Highbury & Islington station. Plenty of seats down the stairs too.

Great cafe, I've been coming here for years and have never been disappointed. The portions are filling, and the service was relatively quick. There are a good number of seats but only one toilet which sometimes causes a queue. The juice 5 pound was a bit expensive.

It is hard to judge with only one dish : some sort of savory pastry with spinach and feta. Although I was quite hungry, I forced myself to eat half of it, as it was so bad. The coffee was ok. Maybee, the rest of the menu is better, and I just made the wrong choice. The table's vanish was sticky (very unpleasant, I first thought it was dirty) and the service very basic, limit rude. To avoid.

I've been here twice on branch, each time the food was great, the eggs were perfectly prepared and the sauce was delicious. Homemade bread and freshly squeezed juices. I definitely recommend it.

The Barn es siempre una buena opción para tomar un desayuno rico en Islington. El café es de los que más me gusta de la zona y los huevos royale (huevos poché con salmón y salsa holandesa), un acierto.

Love this as a local cafe. Great brunches for a good price, plus a nice and warm interior. I always get the eggs, and the sauce is delicious. Coffees are always really wonderful too.

Never write reviews but two guys working there were extremely rude. Bad customer service depending on a good location.

The Barn is such a lovely place. Fresh ingredients and very well made food. Their Chai latte and iced latte is amazing and you can’t go wrong with any of the sandwiches. The make a killer English breakfast aswell. Highly recomend a visit!

Visited here for the first time and was highly impressed with the food and atmosphere - all homemade food (even down to the baked beans!), which was presented in a lovely way and tasted even better! Would highly recommend coming here for breakfast/brunch :)

An old favourite that I've not been to for a long while because of Covid and also changes in my location. Its great to go back to places and receive a friendly welcome. Coffee and cakes/sweet things were lovely as usual but as it was a short visit I couldn't sample their savouries and hot food which was always good value. Will I go back? Possibly, but I'm a Londoner and have so many places to go for decent coffee, who knows when I'll get back here.

We booked a table at The BARN London for 9 people for a Sunday brunch. Arrived promptly, table was there, all fine. The problems started when ordering things, as waiters were every now and then trying to bring us stuff we did not order (e.g. a takeaway coffee - why would you even do that when eating in? Then e.g. an extra juice, etc...) Often times we had trouble hearing each other with the waiter. The food was nice, so that's great at least. However the real trouble started when trying to leave. We went up to the counter to pay, the 8 of us (8 came out of 9 ppl in the end). We all knew what we had, and were paying separate, as a group of 3 couples and two singles, making 5 payments overall. The waiter produced a bill that was just useless. I have attached a picture of this. This offers no way for you to argue about why the charges are there or even what those are, and in itself this looks very shady. This would have been okay if the waiter could have produced accurate notes taken while waiting our table reflecting in some form what we had, but we were not presented such a note either. After we all paid for what we thought we had, there remained a significant, approx. 28 pounds charge, which we obviously immediately challenged. We were quick to point out strange things that stood out on the bill for us, like charging for an asparagus poached egg 10.9 while it was 9.9 on the menu. The person was insistent that overall the bill reflected our consumption and should we leave without paying, they would charge our card. Our reaction of course was telling him that if he charges, we will challenge that with our banks. In the end we spent roughly 15 minutes arguing and accurately reconstructing our bill based on their menu. It was us even who had to go and fetch a menu for this, indicating that the waiter had no real interest in reaching a prompt resolution that would satisfy everybody. Ultimately they accepted our reconstruction of the bill, significantly reducing the charges. If I remember correctly, we reduced charges to approximately 10 pounds more than our own initial reconstruction, but 18 less than what they wanted, and this still included a service charge which they claimed not to be optional. I would have expected different treatment in an establishment that seems to position itself as a high-end café. Much better waiting at tables, much better treatment at payment, and most importantly a way to produce a bill that is an accurate and verifiable record of what the guests have consumed. While waiting our table had problems, that was still totally within acceptable norms. Contrary to that, I found the experience of producing a bill and paying to be absolutely unprofessional, and altogether this will make us avoid this café in the future.

I had a breakfast from here via Uber eats and the quality was really poor (sausage cut in half breally dry) badly wrapped and freezing cold, was in a poorly closed box on a freezing day. they could have wrapped foil around the box. Rude staff when I called.

Would have probably given this cafe a 5 star review if it wasn't for the absolute jerk of a man who serves at the till. He has zero customer service skills, no idea how to speak politely to customers and hasn't mastered the art of "service with a smile". For some reason he seems to think it's a privilege to visit his cookie-cutter, faux hipster, cafe when there's dime a dozen scattered around Islington and Hackney. Fortunately the other staff member (lady, curly hair) is very nice and the food is pretty decent too. There's plenty of space. It's clean and a nice place to work from. Just need that idiotic male staff member to not be in a customer facing role. Perhaps do the dishes instead?

Really nice decor, friendly staff and good food and coffee. And dog friendly. We had 2 coffees, the cappuccino was great, crushed avocado and the barn breakfast. Both were delicious.

Absolutely loved it. Waiting staff was ready to help, drinks were delicious and so was food . Many vegetarian options. I will definitely go again! I had a matcha and goat cheese toast. All would be recommended! The egg florentine sounded delicious and the cakes too. Next time!

This quite little cafe was perfect for our brunch. The food, coffee, freshly squeezed orange juice, and charisma of the staff made this place amazing.

As per usual, the food was filling and really tasty - I ordered the goats cheese on toast. However it was 10 minutes late and despite asking specifically for cutlery, my request was ignored. Disposable cutlery is really important to me given that I am in a hospital (none is provided on the ward) and I am on the go.
