Found this place via trip advisor recommendations. Lovely little cafe clean and well set out . Very friendly efficient staff. We went for breakfast I had the full breakfast with haggis and my partner who is fussy made her own breakfast. Everything cooked freshly and well presented quality produce. Clean toilets. Everything decently priced considering the area.

We stayed in pooley Bridge for 3 nights and managed to visit nearly every day, lol. Lovely place, an amazing outside area too with fantastic views, staff professional and friendly, baileys hot chocolate to die for. We only called in for hot drinks and cake, but we will definitely be back to try lunch or maybe even afternoon tea. Our dogs also loved the dog sausage

Stayed at The Lister Arms for a couple of nights mid week. We stayed in the Lister Barn which is a 2 minute walk from the actual pub. Cosy and warm, tastefully decorated with lovely toiletries - a real gem of a place. The main pub is really cosy, with a gorgeous fire burning all day and evening. Breakfast and dinner here were both really good with large portions. Lots of dogs inside the bar area too which was lovely. Staff were friendly and helpful. Would definitely return.

We ordered from the festive menu as soon as we were seated at 12:30. We were given the salad bowls straight away. A short time afterwards we received our starters. It was about 2 hours later before we received our roast dinners. Some Tables who came in after us were served and had left before we had been given our main course. Some other tables gave up and left and there appeared to be a lot of complaints going on. Our waitress, Georgia, was rushed off her feet but managed to keep her cool and was extremely polite to us and everyone else around despite complaints of long waits. We felt so sorry for her, it wasnât her fault and the manager should have been the one apologising. R Gonzalez

We love to call here for their famous fish and chips, even though we live over an hours drive away. Today we decided to have a change, so the hubby had mussels for starters and the hot seafood platter . I decided on calamari starter and the seafood linguine from the specials board. WELL I was disappointed!! If I'd realised how big the main was I don't think I'd have had a starter. That said, the calamari was lovely, but the star of my meal was the linguine. Big pieces of white fish, salmon, and mussels. Huge prawns and loads of smaller ones too. It was hot, creamy and very tasty with a side salad and brown toasted bread. I highly recommend you try it. BUT ! go hungry đ

Went here today for a birthday meal What a total and utter disappointment the quality of the food was very poor. I would have rated it no stars but had to give at least one to continue with the review. The meal I ordered was billed as a triple steak burger, OMG it was awful, when it was served to me the burger was bone dry and very small, over cooked and totally tasteless. There was no burger sauce, (what we were offered was a bottle of ketchup and seriously watered down mayo) there was no onion or cheese only a little piece of stale lettuce and one slice of very thin tomato in the very dry bun. It was listed as being served with rustic chips but I actual found they were nothing more than a handful of frozen skinny fries from a bag. I was charged almost ÂŁ17 for this which is an absolute disgrace. I've had far better any tastier burgers from McDonald's for a third of the price. My partner had what was billed as peppered chicken which was very poor, served in a skillet which was no deeper than a saucer and it was served without rice which was listed on the menu. The manager came over before it was served and gave her a spoon and we were wondering why you would need a spoon to eat the meal! Then It became apparent when it was served, hardly any chicken and a few bits of pepper and onion and was swimming in some kind of peppered sauce, hence the spoon. This was also priced around ÂŁ16/17, again ridiculously over priced for what was actually offered. We checked out the menu online before booking a table but when we arrived we were given a totally different menu from what was online. Then to top it all we paid cash and after some time we had to ask for our change from the bill (over ÂŁ5). When the ki Manager came over he then said "folk normally say just to keep the change " we were Shocked and utterly embarrassed by this comment. What an absolute rip off this place is and we certainly won't be back .
