David and I had not managed to get to the Flying Cloud Cafe for at least three years. We were much relieved to see it was still there and the cakes were delicious - Kim's Apple Drizzle Cake for us this time. It won't be three years this time!

A sight for sore eyes (and legs) to return from a very long walk along the towpath, and the cafe is reopened for takeaways! All their freshly baked cakes were there too. Please support them, it’s been particularly hard for them with frozen pipes etc but their smiling faces and happy service are back. Great hot drinks, great cakes and treats for dogs.

The Flying Cloud has been the reward for many a family bike ride/dog walk. The concept of an Airstream cafe is fun and makes a cute and vibrant place on dry days. The cakes are very good and Justine's Victoria Sponge deserves particular mention (she will also deliver a whole one just for you if you pre-order). The smoothies are good; there is tea and coffee and a range of cold drinks (San Pellegrino, Fentiman's....). A dog water bowl and biscuits await your canine companions, which is a nice touch. My only wish is that sandwiches/savoury were on offer but I appreciate space is very much limited. Worth a trip.

For the past couple of months I meet a friend and we walk our dogs along the Thames Path. Afterwards we go to this wonderful cafe for a cuppa and cake. It’s absolutely wonderful. Homemade delicious cakes, any hot drink can be made and the friendliest staff working there. Dog treats for your dog and a perfect view of the Thames. I love that we are now weekly regulars.

We are coming regularly just for Flying Clouds delicious Milk/cream ice creams. Available flavours are Mint choc, vanilla, strawberry, chocolate , salted caramel and redcurrant/clotted cream. Always kind service. Usually enough places to have a seat with panoramic views over the Thames. Hand sanitizers are provided. Definitely would recommend.

Cycled along the river to re-visit the cafe for the first time post lockdown. Yummy Victoria Sponge and a cheeky choccy brownie for later (well it is my birthday!). Really friendly staff, great views and the customers always seem so chatty and relaxed. Love it there. Got a combo of modern quirky and traditional.

David and I took one of our strolls along the Thames Path on Wednesday 6 November from Richmond to Teddington. As always, we were looking forward to a reward at the Flying Cloud Cafe, invariably consisting of a cheerful smile, selection of excellent cakes and good coffee. Both of us were startled and dismayed to see that it was closed. I most certainly hope that this is not to be a regular occurrence as it would seriously impact our strolling schedules! Without exception, the best place to pause for a walking pause and an excellent snack.

Charming little place to sit and enjoy the river. I often stop off for a coffee and slice of of yummy homemade cake, and if you’re really lucky they’ll have Malteser cake! No need to say anymore but I guarantee you’ll love it . There’s no inside seating so you might have to wrap up but you’ll be well covered from the sails that cover the tables and the river view is worth it.

Anyway they do serve cake and if you are lucky enough to sit by the river you can have a good view of the small pedestrian bridge to Ham. The day i visited it was 27 celcius. Popped in here Halfway through a long dog walk. It is tucked away at the end of Ferry Road directly adjacent to Teddington Lock on the River Thames. A wonderfully relaxing location with views over the river and the weir and the lovely suspension bridge. There is a "sail" sunshade over the terrace for those sunny days, though it was a little overcast today. The cafe is a lovely shiny aluminium Airstream caravan. There is a wonderful collection of proper homemade cakes and the Lemon Drizzle I had was fabulous; moist with lots of zest and a real tang. The latte was very good. Dogs are welcome and a water bowl is always on hand. A really lovely local independent cafe, with truly excellent cakes that are so much nicer (and more generous in portion size) than you will find in the local CostBucks. This is my second visit and the only surprise is that I am only the third person to post a review. Definitely worth a visit.

On most sunny days you will find me having my cup of tea and a cake. Sitting on the open air - watching the river, the people crossing Teddington Bridge or just sitting and chatting. The staff are very friendly, the cakes home made, and the meal deal with roll, cake and drink worthwhile. Also you can buy ice cream. Being open air the cafe is only open from Spring to Autumn and does close in bad weather. Main fault is that if you want to spend a penny you have to visit one of the local pubs.

We used to order often food from Batterfly, delivered at home. This time we went to have lunch at the place with my wife (disabled) and our westie. The owner (he was alone) refused us because of our little dog. The room was empty, and our dog under the table could not have done any dammage. However this is not indicated anywhere on the door or restaurant window. No compromise, no kindness, no apologies for the absence of warning. It was clear the guy (the boss, because he said "I decide") did not want us, nor maybe any client today. We won't order anything from him anymore. The food is generally acceptable, but not better than elsewhere.

Jackson was kind, sensitive and thoughtful from the planning right through to the hosting on the day which was reflected by his team too. Many people commented on the welcome , tasty food , and thoughtful service. A special thank you for helping with the music too. We would highly recommend Jackson and the Tapestry to others .

Well, we were here today for a Mothers Day lunch. We’d been a couple of years ago and it’s been decorated since then. It looks much better. We looked at some of the meals been served nearby and they all looked decidedly underwhelming and a bit “ greasy spoon cafe”. So, undeterred we thought we’d play it safe. We just ordered mains. One daughter had the mussels and my wife, myself and our other daughter had the roast chicken. The chicken was really nice but the vegetables were overdone, the Yorkshire pudding was a limp sponge and my roast potatoes looked like boiled ones. Having said all that I did polish everything off and it was quite tasty. Jess said her mussel sauce was a bit bland and the portion was small for a main course. As for the positives: the wine was good, my gluten free beers were great, our cocktails (quite a few of them) were very good and so was my coffee. But everything took an age to come out of the kitchen and one of the blokes bringing it out looked like he’d been sleeping in a duvet in the nearest bus shelter. Our waiter, the only English chap, was excellent but he had to keep apologising for the slow service. For Richmond, the prices were not bad and we actually had a very nice time - but then we are a family that gets on and pretty much always have a good time when we are out. In essence, it’s a good place in some ways but a gastro pub it is not.
