The location, the restaurant, the staff and the food are all excellent. My partner and I had a truly wonderful Sunday lunch and each dish (cheese souffle, John Dory and blueberry pana cotta) worthy of 10 out of 10. scores. My only concern is that the 25% increase in the price may deter future customers.

What is it about a traditional, class, hotel with pristine white table cloths and attentive staff? It's reassurance that they care about keeping customers happy and in the zone of quality they expect. This hotel is isolated but provides all the comforts of home (and more). My meal was a delicious veloute followed by rump of beef to-die-for and then the wonderfully light but awesome sticky toffee pudding. A glass of pinot noir added to the experience. Sunday lunch was a treat, followed by coffee and the Sunday papers before a postprandial stroll in the grounds. A welcome return to dependable excellence.

By all standards the Kinloch House, lives up to the highest possible. We had a passing visit just for the set lunch. From the friendly, helpful and efficient staff, to the quality of all three courses and the most elegant ambiance, the whole experience was a delight. The food and service were all excellent and priced at £30 for 3 courses was pretty reasonable. The blade of beef was fantastic. The hotel itself is a "typical" country house hotel with decor around hunting, fishing and the glens. All very relaxing. Only negative is I really didn't like the old, pretty tatty, stuffed bear that greets you as you come in.

We're regular Sunday lunch patrons of Kinloch House. We have gone for years, always waiting for the 'disappointing' experience which seems to come out of familiarity and complacency (on our part). However, the team here have never failed us, the meals are always par excellence and I have placed the featherblade of beef on my list should I ever be in the questionable category of choosing my last meal! The produce is top class, the cooking dependable and well-judged and the presentation is great without introducing naff things like smears, foams and folderols which only serve to disguise incompetence in lesser establishments. Wonderful.

I have been for a meal on a few occasions and have never been disappointed. The staff are attentive, but unobtrusive. A three course meal is £25 per head, but would pay more in a Michelin star restaurant for the same quality of food. There are 3 sitting rooms with open fires to relax before or after your meal.

A special occasion celebrated with a fantastic meal. The menu for the day offered plenty of choice including locally sourced salmon and beef in starter and main course. The desert menu had mouthwatering options ~ difficult to choose. We were not disappointed by the warm welcome, furnishings and table service. All of a high standard. Coffee was taken by log fire in luxurious lounge. Highly recommend this hotel for a meal, and we shall revisit again this year.

We stayed here just the one night. The food was very good, but since we ate local smoked salmon and cheese for starters and final course, we could only judge the cooking by the main course. We both chose the sea bream. It was delicious. Served on a light champagne sauce, it was perfectly cooked and served on a red wine risotto with green veg in the side. Service was impeccable but it was a Sunday night in November with only one other guest, so not, perhaps, representative. Nonetheless, it was lovely food well served. The wine list was a bit thin and priced at 3 X cost. I really dislike this sort of mark up but it has become almost the industry standard. Plus point was lack of piped music! Hoorah!!

After dining at Kinloch for many years we are disappointed that the dinner menu pricing has progressively increased and is now over priced, especially as they now charge £4.50 for coffee and petit fours. It is also annoying that they add a supplement for steak - but do not adjust the set price dinner for vegetarian options. Get real on your pricing and you will continue to retain long standing customers.

Kinloch House has a slightly old-fashioned atmosphere, and I would say that also extends to the food, in the sense that the standard is what I would have expected at a typical Relais & Chateaux establishment about 10-15 years ago; during that time restaurant food in the UK generally has improved dramatically, and perhaps Kinloch House has been left behind a little. Hence I feel I can only give it a score of 4, rather than 5, and also why, I assume, that it does not appear to have an AA Rosette (although that does seem a bit mean to me - I'd have rated it it at least 1 Rosette, if not quite 2).That is not a complaint, however, and in any case cutting edge cuisine would have felt out of place. We certainly enjoyed our meals very much, and the (albeit limited) limited selection of wine by the glass was very nice too.

Came here with my partner on our anniversary and we had a great time. We had champagne and canapés in the lounge before dinner which was lovely and really gave us time to relax more. Dinner was amazing. The pigeon for starters and the guinea fowl for mains were cooked perfectly. After dinner we had coffee and petit fours back in the bar lounge which was a nice treat to the evening. The only fault I can give is that there was no partridge left for the main course which I would have ordered. Nevertheless we were the last to eat and the guinea fowl sure made up for it.

The ambience is quite stunning, and the food could not have been bettered. Deliciously cooked to order, with a dignified twist of their own. So utterly relaxed, but not a detail missed. It is a total credit to Mr Graham Allen, and his staff. I cannot speak highly enough of our day with our family members, who were suitably impressed. The entrance is lovely to this country house hotel. Perfect for a few family photos as this was a special evening celebration. Beware of stones if wearing heels - walk slowly! Most attentive service on arrival. Canapés were divine in the conservatory. Ordered then to our table in the dining room. Starters - we enjoyed soup, lobster and smoked salmon. Had lobster with a tart flavoured sauce and salad - beautiful. Main courses were roe deer, fillet of turbot and corn fed chicken. All were divine! Vegetables served with dishes were tasty. We did ask for potatoes as extra and they gave us 2 portions for 5 of us which was perfect. They came quite quickly as we only asked for them when our main courses had been served. All dinner plates were roasting hot and food all hot. We were all delighted with our choices. Water was topped up very regularly and Pinot grigio was crisp, cool and refreshing. We had a nice break before dessert which again was divine! Panna cotta, sticky toffee pudding and iced apple parfait. I thoroughly enjoyed the parfait with honeycomb, cinnamon minimuffin and a swirl of apple on the side- just beautiful. We were surprised with a lovely cake for our celebration served with raspberries and strawberries and a candle. Coffee, tea and petit fours were served in the drawing room which we had to ourselves. It was a lovely relaxing end to our evening. Would highly recommend for a specialfine dining experience and special treat. Thank you!

We were a party of 8 wanting a lightish lunch and I find myself generally in agreement with your last reviewer Dalguise. We liked almost everything about the place. Unlike her, however, I have rated the overall experience "very good" while she only found it "average". Why?Well, the service we received from everyone was friendly and attentive and the lunchtime prices represented very good value for money. The menu looked really promising and don't get me wrong, the food wasn't at all bad. Had it been that bit more flavorsome, I would have raised my overall assessment to "excellent".Would I return? We were taken out for a meal to Kinloch House near Blairgowrie, Perthshire last Friday. A really lovely building and beautifully kept grounds. Plenty of parking space and someone opened the door and welcomed us which was a lovely touch. It certainly has the feel of a country house and that you are very welcome guests. We were taken into a lovely drawing room with open log fire and very comfy sofas and chairs. Drinks quickly arrived, very good choice of gins and scotch whiskeys.Delicious canapes came with drinks. Menus were unpriced except for our hosts. I am not sure if this is a good idea or not for me. Good selection of starters but I think only a choice of three mains. The service could not be faulted and the staff very good. However having said that the actual food really disappointed us. I think there was a complete lack of taste. The lobster and citrus starter was visually beautiful but lobster chewy and tasteless. A plate of smoked salmon was okay and mushroom risotto nice! For mains my husband had beef blade which was tender but not outstanding, duck breast again was presented beautifully but again a bit bland and the organic salmon fillet and smoked salmon fishcake were overcooked and tasteless. There was a distinct lack of vegetables, in fact I only remember a tiny ring of spinach with my fish. I had cheese and tiny portions of dry indifferent cheese, I think those who had sweet deserts were underwhelmed as well. The petit fours with coffee were MUCH more delicious and impressive.I don't know what the bill came to but know it was expensive which was fine for the wonderful setting and service but unless it was the chefs night off I would be looking for another one if I was managing Kinloch House as this would prevent me from returning. In summary we had a lovely evening. Could not fault the service, ambiance and setting but would not recommend the food.

We had lunch at Kinloch House some months ago, and although we came late in the afternoon, we were greeted with a warm welcome. The house is lovely especially the wonderful log fire in the reception hall, as one arrivesOur dog had to stay in the car, but he was offered a drink - bowl of water!, and it was just a lovely atmosphere, albeit that we were the only people left to dine, and indeed dined in the restaurant by ourselves. The maitre'd could have asked us to dine elsewhere, but he did not, and we were treated to his full attention and excellent, but not intrusive service. We were genuinely very impressed, and did not feel at all rushed or in the way. I know that we should not have felt in the way, but so often one IS made to feel this, and it just ruins the experience and one just wants to leave as soon as possible. This was a relaxed excellent meal, with freshly prepared food, and excellent wines. We left at around 4.30 in the afternoon, feeling very happy and very full ! Many thanks
