Sadly disappointed by our brunch here. You had to order at the till but the lady at the till had no idea what was on menu or how to operate till - leaving a long queue. I ordered smoked salmon and scrambled eggs. After 10 mins the waitress told me there was no smoked salmon. I opted for bacon instead. The eggs were really dry and overcooked and cold and the bacon greasy - expected better for £7.50. Had to order toast separately - £2.50 - it was delayed as the toaster was broken and then came smothered in butter - would have liked to butter the toast myself.

We have visited the tea rooms several times during our weeks stay in Thrussington, to enjoy the tea room and the goodies in the shop. Certainly the best pot of tea we have had in a while and the food, ingredients sourced locally, just excellent. Thank you.

Wanted to get out of the city and get some lunch. It's a lovely spot in the middle of the attractive historic village. Comfortable seating area at back of the deli type shop, with a fairly simple menu. That simplicity means it needs to be very good, and it is. Clearly well sourced ingredients, nicely presented and with sauce combinations in sandwich fillings that elevate them above the standard.

We thought that we could go for some provisions as well as a coffee and cake. The cafe was only doing take outs or sitting at a small pavement table which we can appreciate at the moment but the store was tastefully laid out but very limited provisions other than selected deli items, possibly suitable for a treat.

I bought a toasted teacake from the takeaway counter. It arrived in a sealed box. Upon opening box it was burnt to a crisp, dripping in butter. Avoid

This was our first visit to the village store and we were not disappointed. Such a cosy cafe and deli in Thrussington. We went for the full English breakfast which was delicious. The rest of the menu had some sweet treats and yummy lunch options too. Well worth a visit.

On the day we visited they had not made soup, so my plan of the soup and sandwich special was scuppered. I instead opted for a breakfast toastie (breakfast is sold all day), filled with bacon, egg, tomato and mushroom, which was good. The raspberry press was a good cold drink option. It is a nice little place to eat and catch up with friends, quite unrushed. At the front is the little deli shop - fresh cakes included lemon drizzle, Victoria sponge and brownies. All this in a lovely setting - Thrussington is a bit of a picture postcard village.

Thrussington is very lucky indeed to have such a pleasant shop and cafe. We went as a family with our young grandson. We were welcomed warmly into this delightful tearoom and little Thomas had plenty to entertain him with a good selection of wooden toys and games. Despite our being the only family there (it was mid-afternoon), the long time we had to wait for our meal made it hard to keep our little one entertained. We had been warned of a short delay but it seems that Thrussington minutes are longer than those the rest of us use! When it arrived, however, the food looked lovely it was clearly all freshly prepared. The baked potato was lovely and generous and the tomato soup was fresh in taste, but in need of herbs and seasoning. What wasn’t so wonderful was when we left and decided to buy some of the delights from the small deli itself. The choice is small but it is of the highest quality yet, oh my, it took forever and a day to be served. We were the only ones buying, too, until a local couple came in and they were given precedence over us, adding even more delay.

I like to change pace on a long journey and this tea place is exactly what I need. Less than a Mike’s detour. Quick service. Shop for purchasing ingredients for supper when one gets home. Enjoy the village even on a very short stop. The village green Would probably work as a place for a restless family to break a long journey.

The choice of both tea (tea pigs) and coffees was fantastic and we had a good natter before heading off. This is a true gem in the lovely village of Thrussington, Leics. This is so conveniently positioned for the 4 of us visiting Ragdale Hall Spa - 10 mins away. We stayed in the holiday flat above the deli and not only shopped for lovely cheeses for late night snacks but also had amazing breakfasts each day. The very friendly Jo and Ben run a fabulous deli/tearoom/accommodation and it's definitely one on the list for a return visit next time we head back to Ragdale.

What heaven to have a real large pot of tea and proper China cups. The lady who served our food was really friendly and helpful and nothing was too much trouble. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming and we loved the Alex Clark cards and posters. A memorable day and we will definitely be back to try some of the other treats available.

Visited for the first time and found that the selection of items to order from the menu was good and they are also adaptable. Building works going on near the café and at the moment you have to use the loo at the lovely pub across the road. the food we had was nice but feel that when all the building works are completed the environment will be very much better. Selection of Hambleton bread was very nice. Not too impressed with the service at the table, when we had finished our sandwiches we were not asked if we wanted a cake etc, plates taken away without a word of how we liked it etc...? Will revisit in a few months time when works completed

We enjoyed afternoon tea comprising of plentiful tea, finger sandwiches, home made scones with wonderful strawberry jam and clotted cream to be followed by homemade brownies and Hambleton bakery pecan buns. Well the food hasn't even arrived yet and the service has been rude, surly and unfriendly. The place is freezing and the staff refused to put the heater on and then told us after 10 minutes of waiting, it would be 15 minutes for veggie sausage. Very overpriced. The breakfast was OK but beans and tomatoes, and eggs were tepid to say the least. Bloody awful.

My most favourite little deli! Have been coming here for 11+ years and have never left disappointed. The food is fantastic and whenever I take people there (generally grabbing lunch with a colleague) they're always impressed with the quality of the food. Personal favourites are the brie and bacon baguette and THE WORLDS BEST lemon cheesecake (chefs kiss). Only slight criticisms would be the place gets so busy it can mean can't always eat in (shows how good the place is) and they're closed on a Monday which tends to be the day I work in the office so can't always nip in to the best deli in Leicestershire.

A fantastic night with friends enjoying the cocktail masterclass with Jerome a great bartender and entertainer. Jerome knows his stuff, easily explaining what to mix and how, with a little bit of science too. We gratefully accepted the cocktails he made so effortlessly and then had a go at making our own, Jerome’s teaching style made this fun and easy and overcame any of our nerves with encouragement and humour. Thanks for helping us have a great night out 5⭐️

As it was a sunny day, the place was busy although we found a table. Recently the menu has changed in my view for the worst. Prices have leapt with choice not as good as it used to be. Although our order arrived in decent time one or two people who came in after us left upon being informed there was a waiting time of over 30 mins for cooked food. We have been regulars here but with the menu change and big increase in prices will sadly look elsewhere.

After a walk at Bradgate Park we chose to stop in here for brunch. We checked the menu outside and were surprised to find that the prices inside had been inflated quite considerably. Did they forget to change the menu outside? I think probably not. After waiting for a table we then sat down on a dirty table to order, waited half an hour for our food, which then came out lukewarm at best and really quite underwhelming. £70 for 3 breakfasts, 3 drinks and pancakes is certainly steep I'd say, but when it is such poor quality I'm not sure how this place gets the reviews it does.
