Fantastic food!! The only gripe is they struggled to feed all our group of 20ish of us. Some had to wait 30/40mins to even order. Not sure why they couldn't take the orders and just say they'd be a 30minute wait.

Thanks so much to Flo and the team for catering my mum’s 70th this weekend. The function room is a fantastic space and the food was excellent. Compliments all round from all the guests. The gluten free option was very welcome and there was no compromise in quality. Homemade cakes and sausage rolls were the favourites! Thanks to everyone involved for making it all run smoothly.

After some failures in and around the area I hit upon this place. The service, quality of food and atmosphere brilliant. It has restored my faith in the English pub.

I was recently here for a birthday party and the food was really very good., hand picked ingredients and a lot of care in the prep. Even for a large group booking. Everyone enjoyed their meals. The staff were very nice and helpful and they did amazing getting the food out to everyone. I highly recommend.

Had a celebration meal for a group on Sunday and was not disappointed. The food was excellent and plentiful. The staff were great and helpful. It is always difficult arranging an event for other people but Flo made it so easy. Her response times were very impressive and she dealt with all my queries. Would definitely recommend.

Awesome Sunday lunch - utterly delicious. Huge portions and perfect in every way. Vegetables perfectly cooked Vegetarian options. Excellent service from lovely staff Dog friendly which is a major plus for us.

The 2 ladies who served us were lovely and friendly. The food and deserts were lovely .we got served straight away and didn't have to wait long once ordered for the food to arrive good size portions.

Popped in for a quick lunch as I was passing through with my colleague. Honestly I just expected the usual processed ping and ding microwaved rubbish. Wow, seriously I was not expecting what we were served. It was fresh, tasty, bursting with flavour and all homemade from scratch. I had the chicken schnitzel with a mustard sauce and he had the back bacon mushroom and Stilton melt. There was a cute cup of soup too. The ladies behind the bar were super friendly and attentive and I loved the fact they told the chef straightaway how delighted we were with our meals. This place is a gem, it’s rare to find such a warm welcome and utterly delicious food sometimes. We’re already planning our next trip to the area. What a find!

Booked the restraunt side of the pub went for the 2 courses mussels to start with were lovly and fresh the roast beef cooked to perfection with an excellent choice of vegetables to accompany the dinner. Chole and the front of house team make you feel very welcome already booked in for anthor vist in a few weeks would highly recommend excellent quality and good value.

Emma the waitress who served us was brilliant ,very helpful knowledgeable @very friendly 👏. The food was excellent, would definitely go back @the three course we had was excellent value for money. A shout out for the chef 👩‍🍳

It’s the first time we have been here in many years and it was absolutely fantastic. We were met with such a warm welcome from the staff. Both ladies that served us were so friendly. The food was amazing, we had drinks within about five minutes of sitting at the table and the food followed shortly after ordering. We were all blown away with the quality and the amount of food for the price. We will certainly be returning in the future.

We had a delicious family Sunday lunch - food and service as fantastic. There were lots of big parties dining at the same time as us, but this didn’t impact our food or service. Chloe and team looked after us really well. Highly recommend!

Not long arrived home from an absolutely beautiful Sunday lunch, we went as a party of 10, and nothing was too much trouble for the amazing staff who work there, I myself had beef, which literally melted in your mouth, all the vegetable (7 I think in total) where cooked to perfection, I didn’t have a pudding as I had a starter which was a delicious soup with a large crusty roll and I may add with proper butter, but people who I went with had different puddings and I must say looks yummy, will definitely recommend to anyone who asks “whereabouts is a good place for Sunday lunch” and will certainly return again. Great local pub with a menu to cater for all tastes

Celebrating my mums 86th birthday we had a super lunchtime meal here. The food was excellent - can thoroughly recommend the fish and chips and pork stroganoff. Service was friendly and Chloe really knew her stuff. She took the time to spend time chatting to us, making us feel really welcomed. Thank you. We will certainly be back next time we are back in Barrow.

Food very good, service good. Chloe was very helpful with dietary needs and assistance with grandson’s meal selection. We thought the meal was tasty and good value for money.

First time for Sunday lunch and it was amazing. I loved that the bar area was dog friendly so that we could bring all our family out. The roast dinner was 10 out of 10 and the puddings were mouth watering… I had the rice pudding and all I can say is wow. The service from the minute I walked in was first class and Chloe looked after us throughout our visit and was so welcoming and lovely. Well done soar bridge inn. We will be visiting again

Great Sunday lunch with really friendly staff very enjoyable

Went for a roast dinner. Me and the wife eat out a lot. This is the best rosst we have ever had. 7 different veg. The waitress was excellent. I think chloe was her name. Cant wait to go back.

Lovely Burns themed meal. Food was delicious though I was full after my starter - a delicious Cullen skink- but managed to find room for the main and dessert!! Our server Chloe was very friendly, informative and helpful. A real asset.

Perfect! We went with family for the Sunday roast which was absolutely gorgeous, a couple in our group are VERY big eaters and were more than satisfied, lovely surroundings, friendly and polite staff and fantastic atmosphere. 100% recommended.

Great service. Great food. Great atmosphere. What more could anyone ask? Particularly recommend the chips, burgers, flatbreads and lasagne! It looked and tasted so good we tucked in - remembering only to take photos when all the plates were empty!

What can you ask after a day of boating but delicious, well cooked food served by friendy staff in a nice warm pub? Busy admittedly and noisy as a result but somewhere we (like everyone else) will be coming back to

I had the Lamb Tagine with flatbread. The flatbread portion was pathetic. It was about the size of one palm of my hand. A relatively nice meal, spoiled by stinginess!

My partner and I ordered different meals off the menu and unfortunately both were tasteless apart from the taste of pure grease that stayed with us for the evening leaving us feeling unwell.

We popped in for lunch after a walk with the dogs as they are welcome in the pub. Food was delicious, the pie was fantastic! Good selection of drinks too, staff very welcoming, we will be returning.

We visited for Sunday lunch for a birthday celebration. The pub was earlier in the year taken over and is under new management and has had a refurb too. Service was excellent throughout, attentive and friendly. Most of our party had the Sunday Roast Beef and Roast Chicken meals - the food is homemade and freshly cooked. Plentiful deliciously cooked beef and chicken breast wrapped in bacon served with stuffing and a chipolata sausage wrapped in bacon. Proper roast potatoes, parsnips and a large yorkie pudding. Chefs gravy and plenty of veg for the meals - a medley of cabbage, broccoli, green beans and carrots, plus cauliflower cheese and red cabbage which were all delicious, and a jug of extra gravy. One of the party had a king prawn linguine was great too. The sticky toffee pudding and raspberry and white chocolate bread and butter pudding both with custard were delicious too. Excellent meal and great value at £14.95 for one course and £18.95 for two. Definitely will be coming to eat here again great proper home cooked food. Recommended booking as we did. The restaurant and bar area were full.

I won’t to take the extra bit to say out of all pubs the bridge is the best place to visit for food drink and atmosphere flow and team go out there way to make you feel so special 10 star review is needed as a pro boxer I have been some super restaurants in past but this beats all the other villages

Went for Sunday lunch today food was beautiful! plenty of it looked and tasted great! service was on point from the waitresses to the bar. Nothing was to much check backs were done ! Highly recommend

I used to work at the Soar Bridge 30 years ago so going back is always a little weird It’s recently been renovated, and chatting with the team there more work is underway Pros The food was delicious, four different meals in the table all were piping hot and very tasty, and portion sizes are not to be grumbled at Cons We were sat in the main bar rather than the back room and where were were sat was a little cramped and noisy as we were directly under the speaker Observations Service is not quick BUT I stress this is not a problem with the freshly cooked food that comes out, if you are looking for “spoons” speedy 5 min meals this is not the place, if you want a really nice meal, be patient and you will not be disappointed I had the Cowboy Chilli and it was amazing, personally I could have taken more spices, but there was a lovely spicy undertone. I would love to have rated this 4.5 but I can’t do 1/2’s and the reason for it being a 4 not 5 was where we were sat Costs, 4 starters and 4 mains, just over £20 a person so very reasonable for the quality of meal you get We did book but it was busy when we got there and they had had a few walk in’s but being sat in the dining area not the main bar would have been more appreciated as we had booked Will we go back - 100% yes

Held a 50th birthday party here. Great venue, staff so friendly and helpful, didn’t sample the food as I took my own buffet but they do provide this service and reasonably priced. Drinks a good price too. Flo was amazing.

I had my mother‘s wake at the Soar bridge Inn Laura had set the room up lovely just how I wanted it. and the buffet was done by Carole it was amazing. Sausage rolls and cream cakes hit the spot. Would recommend for any event.

Nipped in for a cheeky jar or two... very busy, however served swiftly. Asked a few staff members about the area, directed us to a nice walk down the canal. After said walk decided to return... the manageress took time to introduce herself and talk about us ...not what's on offer, what promotions are due.... definitely will return

We went for a surprise 50th party, private dos are in what looks like to be the old skittle room as it was long and narrow. Fit easily 50 people in, which gave a good atmosphere. The bar and toilets are a short walk from the function room. Staff were friendly, If you're looking for a function room I would recommend.

UPDATE: Very pleased to learn that Everards are seeking new tennents for this village pub. All the old ale drinking regulars will be counting the days down, the pub has been missed by all but society's dregs who've made it their own. Lets hope new tennents understand the meaning of 'Community Pub!'

This is our local pub and we love the atmosphere and seeing so many familiar faces when we pop in for a pint

I took my 93 year old Mother for lunch. She chose the carvery deal (£10 for main and dessert) and I chose the faggots. Both meals were absolutely delicious and good value for money. Very pleasant atmosphere. Staff were attentive and VERY pleasant at all times.

Vegetables were cold, the roast potatoes I would have been embarrassed to serve them , service was terrible, wouldn't recommended the place

Group skittles evening with hot buffet. Might not suit everyone but a good evening I think.

Hired for a celebration recently in the function room. Was fabulous. Staff excellent. Let us do just what we wanted. Couldn't rate it high enough. Perfect for all celebrations. Staff offered to clear up after and put tables back but we insisted on clearing up and leaving just as we had found it. Couldn't fault at all. Thank you Soar Bridge Staff.

Had a wonderful carvery today - meats were lovely and we particularly loved the roast potatoes! Crumble ran out which was a shame, but overall a lovely Sunday lunch. We'll be back ☺️

Busy village centre Everads pub. Nice that food was on all day today (Saturday) and served with a smile. Slight issue with our vegan meal but resolved amicably and was better than the usual boring vgn burger (was a nut roast). Friendly locals, would return

Booked a table for 1pm in the restaurant.. didn't get food till 1.45 . preordered dessert with mains ...ran out of crumble..got the impression that the bar orders of food took priority over restaurant .. will go again as good value but will book for 12 noon to make sure to be served quicker and sure of dessert choices,..

Huge thanks to the Soar Bridge Team for making our Wedding Day so very special. The function room is so pretty, and nothing was too much trouble. Would highly recommend.

Very good steak pie and a nice pint of Original.

The food was very nice, but the service was abysmal. Had to repeatedly ask for drinks, had to fetch own cutlery, struggled to get salt and vinegar, generally service required an experienced person to oversee service.

Lunchtime visit and quite busy. Excellent food and fast friendly service. Very relaxing atmosphere. We will certainly return when next in the area.

Popped in on spec Easter Monday very friendly staff good range of beer and Cider upon asking the only food seemed burgers, which I can't eat. However they said Ham, egg and chips was an option. We opted for that. When it arrived it looked great with a very nice side salad. The staff were very attentive the food was really delicious and it looked so good. So nice to find such a gem

Met with friends who were on a narrow boat. Moorings nearby on tne river. Pub was busy with locals having drinks but we had a table outside, inside was fully booked for Quiz night! Good pub fare and local ales. Dog friendly and good GF & Veggie options

Visited today with our 3 dogs. Staff were polite and happy. Did not eat on this occasion, but the menu looked good. Everard Old Original was first class.

First visit since the new owners took over. We had the Sunday carvery which was delicious. All the staff were very friendly and nothing was too much trouble. It's a lovely pub and we always visit when in the area. Thoroughly recommended.

First visit, didn’t book but went on the off chance of getting a table for Sunday lunch. Was made very welcome and was shown to a table. Ordered food and drinks, plenty to choose from but we settled for a carvery. ( nut roast and normal). Excellent food and service. Staff also very professional. Will definitely be returning.

Me and my daughter and 2 grandchildren came for some lunch. The service was absolutely excellent so polite and friendly. The garden area is so good for the children. They have a bouncy castle and nice play area. The food was absolutely incredible for both us and the children. Portion sizes brilliant and the quality is excellent. Will definitely be regulars here now for our daily lunch and play date. Would highly recommend

Fab Sunday carvery, best I had in a while, definitely would recommend and will be booking to go again. It was hot, fresh and the meat was lean with no fat. The staff were friendly and although the pub was busy, the wait for the food was minimal.

Top pub for a Sunday afternoon drink

The team at the Bridge Inn looked after my boyfriend and his friends when they got into trouble in the rapid waters of the Soar last weekend on their yacht. They made sure that they had hot food and cold beer inside them. You simply must visit this pub when you are in Barrow Upon Soar.

Lovely staff, very chilled out. I could have fallen asleep because it was so comfy 🤣

Friendly pub with a big TV, a range of games to entertain the children and a nice selection of drinks. Close to the canal but no view of it which is a shame. Would go again.
