Lovely friendly welcome and great informal service. Fantastic food with really good flavours. I had the sole menuire with shrimps capers and brown butter sauce - delicious.

Been to this place a few times, sit and takeaway. While I cannot fault the food as it is always tasty and well presented, they do seem to be forgetful. Was in a few weeks ago, got Chicken Goujons and chips with Garlic and Sweet chilli dips to takeaway and a Caramel Rise crispy Square, brought back to the office was delicious and really enjoyed but today they lost their memory. Said to me I couldnt have gotten them there and they do not offer as takeaway. This was only 2 weeks ago so someone has got it wrong. Very disspointing that they did not seem to beleive me and even asked was I sure it was in their establishment. Not good to question a customer like that. Anyhow, did not seem to be getting though to them, all four of them. Order a toastie and a carmel rice crispy square, Toasties lovely, Carmel Rice Crispy Square was not in the bag, just a plain one. It was nice but not a s nice as the others. Lesson, do not agrue with customers, if they say they got something they got it. Pity , as the food is good. Update, still not been back, no reply from the resturant. That means they still believe their own PR. Update 20th Feb 2024, have been back recently and really cannot fault the food, sandwiches , good choices and some lovely tray bakes. Appreciate the chef reply to reviews and explaining the situation. Another wee update, been back in a few times and had no issues. Have to admit the nicest Bakewell Bun ever tried.

Great service. Friendly staff. Other guests were very noisy. Couldn’t hear yourself speak. Value for money yes, but there were a few things that need ironing out. The bread for the sandwiches was far too thick. They should be thinner, dainty. Filling very nice and just the right amount. The tiny quiches were a disappointment. Lemon Posset far too sweet. I have done this before but with whipped double cream to a billowy cloud consistency but not as sweet. Brownies, absolutely delicious. Very fudgy and moorish. Strawberry very nice size and sweet and juicy. I have dipped my strawberries before in 70% dark chocolate. Beautiful sultana scones. Were they made on the premises? Can’t tell. They were big and soft. Would have been better smaller scones. The jam was far too sweet I felt it on my teeth. I was too full to try anything else. Oodles amount of tea very nice. Just a little tip, I think putting sandwiches and the rest of the cakes etc should be all in 3 different plates rather than bringing sandwiches first and then the cakes. Overall a nice afternoon out to a place I had never been before.

Good quality food. It was a bit of a long wait but it was worth it.

Our 2nd visit to Garvock House Hotel after our fabulous visit recently. Again, everything was absolutely perfect, no faults whatsoever, this is a very underatted establishment. Throughly recommend.

A very quiet pub when we went in, real ales were great and kept well. I did find out this pub is up for sale so maybe that is why the atmosphere was a bit lacklustre.

Fantastic location if you want to grab a quick coffee or a snack! Really good coffee and just a nice place to sit and enjoy the view around bristol harbour (or if you want to watch people bungee jump from a crane).

Pizzas are lovely, but ordered online & said 25 minutes for collection, arrived once told it was ready for collection and waited 10 minutes after already telling the woman behind the bar I was here to collect food. Eventually asked what I had ordered and had to name the pizzas and was told they had got stuck to the pan and had to re order and was asked to pay, had to tell the woman I had already paid. Waited 15 minutes for new pizza

What a delightful discovery. A wonderful stopping point if/when touring the borders. We we’re meeting up with family and had a one night stay. Just wished we could have had extended it. Very comfortable room with a modern en-suite. Our family meal in the restaurant was loved by all. Excellent menu for both adults and kids. An extensive menu which was backed up by quality food and presentation. Cosy bar offering cask ales, wines and spirits to suit all. We had without doubt the best breakfast served in any establishment in the country. Again an extensive menu which could give you a different breakfast plate for at least a week. Our hosts were so warm and friendly and run a very well organised establishment. Highly recommend The Allanton Inn. We will certainly return for a much longer stay soon.

Friendly helpful service, great cards and other nice gifts of better quality than the other gift shop. Would shop here again the next time I visit Combe Martin

One big thank you to you all for looking after us when we visited you. It's such a friendly place. The Black Sheep was one of the best I have tasted. Our room was very comfortable and spotlessly clean. Our evening meal was excellent and so tasty. It's a shame we couldn't stay longer.

Lovely rooftop cafe. Very nice atmosphere and friendly staff. There wasn’t many vegan options but the soup of the day ended up vegan and there’s also a beyond burger. I’d come again and invite my friends because it’s 5 stars already, just please please add a few more vegan options 🙏🙏
