The best restaurants in United Kingdom serving British food

Walk along the Wirral way to emerge in West Kirby & then down a side road to find this cafe. Loved the menu and quirkiness of the place. Ukrainian dishes were new to us. We will definitely be back.

If you want to take a trip down memory lane to 1940s this is the place. Lovely period artefacts and ambience. The young waitress was very helpful. But prices are certainly NOT from a bygone age...! About £4.00 for a small coffee - ok in a china cup! And About £8.00 for a small thin brown sliced sandwich. Hmmmm! Only ones there for most for most of our lunch. ( July 12). Might appeal to richer tourists but for everyday locals like us - slightly disappointing.

The service isn’t really good we stood for 20 minutes before people and they got served before us even though we were there first. Other than that the food sounds great !!

The best bacon sandwich outside my own kitchen – and they even offer broken sauce! Coffee was nice too.

Decided to give this a try whilst on holiday, and gutted we only found it towards the end! Lovely little pub, superb food at really reasonable prices and a warm atmosphere. Very family and dog friendly.
