An excellent sunday lunch today at the Lamb Inn. Slow cooked brisket melted in the mouth, others had lamb and said couldnt fault it and the nut roast was very good. Lovely fire going, do us damp walkers could dry out, it was very busy and rightly so, excellent food in a lovely setting. 1 little niggle was we didnt think there were enough vegetables, plenty of potatoes though.

Fantastic little restaurant, staff all very helpful, friendly and nothing was much trouble. All the food we had was lovely, well presented, hot and very tasty. Would highly recommend this restaurant. It is important to book before you go. Went back to celebrate my wife birthday and again had excellent service, food, and staff although different we're justed as good as first ones. We will be making a 3rd visit in the future.

A group of us took over the hotel for our annual car meeting, the staff, the food, the location was fantastic. The rooms were clean and comfortable and there is plenty of parking. Everyone in the group commented how brilliant the place is. Recommended.

I was told this is the best chippy in filey. It really didn’t disappoint, I ordered Haddock and chips with a coffee, the food was exceptional, really crispy batter on a really moist and flavoursome piece of fish. I think the food would be hard to beat anywhere in the country. Wonderful. And, proper old fashioned service, another thing that’s hard to find these days.

I’m often in the Robertson Street branch.. Food is always great but the prices are seriously ridiculous. For a posh lemonade (they didn’t have an affordable version”) and the tiniest falafel and pepper wrap, it was £8.60!! The wrap had no garnish, no salad on the side, no crisps…just two halves of the wrap which was four small mouthfuls. I’m sorry, but yiu can’t put the prices up and offer less. I can eat a whole full English breakfast for less than that. Also, the layout for the toll is not great. Everyone lines up, the line is often long as there is only ever one person on the till. There is no space Newtown the large table and queue, so people coming in and out of the kitchen, in and out of the toilets or just trying to leave the queue once paying have to squeeze passed all the time. It’s a great venue and the food is good, but with so many choices in town which are better value, I won’t be going as often
