Lovely little pub in lovely little village, service exceptional, food was fantastic, nice selection of ales.

A lovely little old world charmed pub with various antique trinkets such as copper pots, post boxes, butter churns, and general bric à brac adorning the walls, shelves, and ceilings. Food is seved at certain times, but I can't give much info on that, as I was only visiting early on a bank holiday Monday. Only 1 real ale on offer at the time. But there are plenty of keg beers. Mainly a one roomed pub, but divided areas, and a single bar.

Lovely pub to visit. Great decorations and atmosphere, really good food, staff friendly and polite. Great holiday experience. We definitely recommend it.

Good Sunday Roast! Friendly owners and locals made us feel very welcome.

We stayed in the village and called in for a meal on Saturday. Went again for Sunday lunch. If they hadn't been closed on Monday, we would have gone back. Food was great and beer good too. People very friendly. When we return to the village we will come to eat and drink here again

Amazing home cooked Sunday dinner it was really nice and owns are very nice too made us feel very welcome despite one of our group being rude and fussy they went out of there way and did her chips.

This is a gem of a find, a family run traditional pub offering fab home cooked food. The owners / staff can't do enough for you and are incredibly engaging, chatting away to us the entire visit. Lovely!

Went with friends for Sunday lunch. Everything cooked to perfection and piping hot. Didn't really want a sweet until we saw 'nickys sticky toffee pudding' on the menu. Well, what can I say but wow! It is one of our friends favourite dessert and she said it was the best she'd ever tasted. Well done team ship!

Had a quick couple of pints here (East Coast IPA). Wonderfully OTT Christmas decorations amongst lots of memorabilia. Didn't have any food but quite a few folk were.

What a great pub, friendly and helpful, beer excellent, good choice. Didn't eat at the pub, but meals looked good, and no one complained about it, only complements. Visited 5 times in the week.

This is our second time visiting this pub, the food is really good, great atmosphere, we took our 4 month old puppy very dog friendly. Staff and service were very good, we had a great time and a great experience.

Had our Sunday lunch in this collectors paradise. Can’t fault the food. Absolutely delicious. Staff on duty were do friendly and polite. The contents within pub make for a lovely experience. Don’t change anything. It’s well worth the visit and if you like great beer the landlady keeps a great pint

We visited the characterful Ship for the first time last night: What a brilliant time we had, from feeling so welcome from all the family who work hard to make this real, genuine, Yorkshire pub what it is, to the fabulous homemade food( chicken curry and beef stroganoff, finishing with rhubarb crumble). The beers looked great also, will sample them next time when we go for Sunday lunch.

Only stumbled upon this wonderful little place due to the main road been closed. What a find, Staff so friendly, locals the same. The food was so delicious and plentiful, and most excellent beers to boot. To give it 5 stars seems not enough. Update we was so impressed that we went back 2 more evenings, which I must stress was just as excellent.

Absolutely fabulous, old pub charm matched by the charming management, staff and the food and ales are truly fantastic. Not from the area but can't wait to return. Bet its even cosier in winter with the fire going. What a great place to be.

Pleasant pub, good service, well cooked meals and good beer.

Called for Sunday Lunch without booking, friendly staff managed to fit four of us and a dog in even though they were rather busy. Food was excellent all home cooked and good portions, the sticky toffee pud was allso to die for. It was served promptly and very reasonably priced. Will defo be returning. Keep up the good work.

They found us a table for three plus our dog. Food was lovely, chips amazing old style. Lasagne nice but didn't have pasta in it? Just mince & melted cheese, but our Son ate it & said it was nice.

Just got in tonight before closing early due to wedding. Really good service . Landlord really friendly and welcoming and a credit to the pub trade and the village . Would recommend a visit

Had a smashing meal at The Ship last week,my daughter had a steak pie and said it was the best gluten free pie ever! I had the same and have to agree. I actually hadn't known I was eating gluten free.There were 10 in our party and none of us had space left to sample anything from the sweet menu afterwards. The lady who runs the pub is a real gem as well, we had to cancel the later meal booking that we had made for the Thursday of the Queen's Jubilee due to illness and she was so sympathetic, sending us a lovely message wishing us a swift recovery. If we get back to Muston in the future, the Ship will certainly be on the itinerary.

Just want to say a huge thank you to Linda and her staff for taking care of us when we booked for our son’s 41st birthday lunch on 13 May. There were 10 of us, including 6 of our Ukrainian family members who had fled the war in Ukraine. We all loved the pub, quintisentially English, loved all the quirky memorabilia too, as did the Ukrainians. Friendly locals and the food was fab! We didn’t have room for pudding although they were very tempting - including homemade bread & butter pudding, rhubarb crumble - classics. Thank you for putting up banners, balloons and providing a birthday cake too. 👏 We will definitely be back. Can highly recommend if you’re visting or staying in the area. Linda don’t ever change anything. Pubs like yours are hard to come by nowadays. Linda Nottingham

Our party of 5 was made very welcome last night, food excellent. We had prebooked the table, which was ready when we arrived, didn't have to wait at the bar for drinks, the order was taken at our table. Staff very attentative throughout the evening. We are staying in the village, and have booked a table at The Ship for the next few nights. Would definitely recommend.

AMAZING Sunday dinners, you have too book but the it's delicious. Been a few times and will carry on going. Quirky interior, lots too look at. Well worth a visit,they also do meals during the week.

Fantastic pub , fantastic food , lovely staff and cater for celiac (gluten free) loafs of interesting nik naked all around the pub , would defo recommend for a meal , cooked freshly and veg nicely cooked not overdone . You will not be disappointed .

Absolutely outstanding! Loved the quirky interior, it really brought back memories. Staff are extremely helpful and nice, they managed to fit us in with short notice, which we really appreciated. Our order was taken very promptly, and food served after only a short wait. The staff checked on us twice during our meal to make sure the food was okay, and to see if we wanted further drinks. All pretty impressive, but then the food....well, this was something else. Good portion sizes and an excellent range to choose from, even for me and I've got particular dietary requirements. The quality was excellent, and soooo tasty. They even make the effort and do proper chips, not the nasty frozen ones. They are delicious. Please keep up the good work, I'm giving you ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ but you deserve more. Thank you for a superb meal. 👌

This pub was suggested by my Air B&B host and was one of the best food finds of the holiday. We ate here twice. But booking is recommended as it is a small pub.The pub is a traditional pub with lots of querky decore and a friendly family run feel to it. There were a couple of modern craft style ales on tap that were good. The pub is not trying to be a gastro pub and the meals are very very good value for moneyThe food menu was more off piste than i had expected. I had a beef stroganoff which was probably the tastiest thing I had in years. On my 2nd visit it was a struggle to not order the stroganoff again, but I was brave and i went for the steak, it was superb... and all the trimmings equally as impressive. I had recently had a very good steak in a local gastro pub and there was little to no difference in taste just the Ship Inn was half the price!.Basically I cannot rate this place high enough.Do yourself a favour and book this understated gem

What a great find and such a lovely pub. The food was excellent with proper portions. A family of five- 2 courses each with drinks etc £90. The ale was good and it’s not a tied house!

Visited this pub every night whilst staying in Muston eating there a couple of times. By the end of our stay we felt like 'locals ' as Linda the landlady, Nicky her daughter, who is the chef, Hannah the barmaid, and the locals made us feel very welcome. We would highly recommend Nicky's tasty home cooked food . Just a pity we were not there for her Sunday Roast which everybody comments on as being very good. We loved the way this small pub has lots of themed memorabilia in different sections.Already looking forward to visiting again.

An old pub with lots of character , loads of farming and local artifacts to look at around the pub

We visited the Ship Inn, with our 15yo labrador, earlier this evening during the time when government guidelines were in place due to covid. On entering the Inn it was clean, decor fine and carpets looked clean bearing in mind dogs could stay with you at your table whilst dining. Notices in place regarding wearing face masks, Sanitizer in the entrance and staff wearing face shields. The menu wasn't vast but all 5 of us easily chose a meal. We had contemplated having starters but thank goodness we didn't as the portions were huge and the majority of us have healthy appetites. All 5 meals were noted to be delicious, large and appeared to be of good quality produce. The food came all together and were equally as warm. Of all dog friendly eating establishments we have visited across the UK this, so far, was the best. Well worth a visit especially when you own a dog because our experience has been very mixed on dog friendly pubs etc.

We ended up here more by chance that another pub we called at was fully booked.We’re so glad they were as the food here was great. Home cooked, plentiful and really reasonably priced. The staff are very welcoming and the pub is olde world, jam packed with trinkets to guess their purpose! We had Beef Stroganoff half and half and Rabbit pie. The chips were proper hand cut, home cooked and just as my gram used to cook them - perfect! Both meals were really tasty and plentiful. Dogs are allowed in one part of the bar. Recommend!

Food was absolutely amazing! I ordered a hunters chicken, which is what I order most times I go out and I think this meal was the best one I've ever had! (Didn't get a photo) Also came with proper home cooked chips which were great! The staff in there were very friendly and welcoming, and the decor was a little different which made it more interesting to look around at. Overall I would 10/10 recommend, we really enjoyed ourselves 😊

My boyfriend and I recently visited here while staying in Muston and we were very impressed by the service and quality of the food. The pub is dog friendly as well which is a big bonus and the staff are all very welcoming and helpful. We had a steak pie each and shared a garlic mushrooms starter and the food arrived fairly quickly and it was so tasty! I would highly recommend calling at this pub if you are in the area and looking for something good to eat and a warm welcome.
