Amazing, delicious, and homemade food. The staff are friendly, welcoming and hard-working.

Called in last night to have something to eat. Proper old fashioned boozer. For a MONDAY night it was busyish. We both had pie and chips with vegetables. It was absolutely lovely. Friendly staff who can't do enough to make your visit a pleasant one. I see Haley still grieves the loss of her cats and dog... Perhaps Haley you should get a budgie..

I always love going for food at The Union and this evening was no exception. Despite the waiting time of 40 mins which is to be expected on Sunday Service as the quite simply the food is outstanding..for me it's the staff that make it a wonderful warm experience they were extremely busy today but my son and I were truly looked after and the food was fabulous!! Thankyou guys Georgina and Sebastian! Xx

I was in Tyldesley to watch a rugby match and by pure chance called into the Union Arms for a pre-match pint and a spot of lunch. It looked a bit rough on the outside, but once inside I received a very friendly welcome. The real ales were excellent and the steak & ale pie superb and plentiful. Would definitely come again.

Brilliant place. Chose it at random but worked out really well. Food best steak pie, staff really friendly. (And they still have proper cribbage boards!)hi

My husband and I go on a Tuesday for the Pensioners meal.3 courses for £6.95 and always a good meal.Not every week as we live quite a way from Tildsly but worth the trip.

Food was lovely, but the pub was freezing, service was very slow and wasn't even that busy, couple on table came in quite a bit after us and got their food first, my dad ordered 3 course pensioners meal but walked out before the pudding came as it took so long, I mean how long does it take to warm rice pudding up and put a blob of jam in 😕again couple next to us got theirs first, I got my food quite a bit after my dad and partner, and was told it takes longer coz it wasn't the pentioners meal I only ordered a jkt potato with chilli 😌😄

What a fabulous pub this is. At the heart of the community and serving delicious food. One of the finest places I have ever eaten in my 65 years on this planet. (And I live a long way from Tydlesey!)

I have been frequenting this pub for food for the past three years plus and today I have had possibly the worst food I have ever encountered. I had fish and chips which, somebody forgot to add the fish, but there was copous amounts of batter. I have travelled and worked all over North and West Africa and had to come to this pub in Tyldesley to encounter such bad food.

Very busy thriving pub , staff are lovely and food is fab came in at lunch time and pub was full! Two ladies were very friendly with all customers and interact with everyone

A fantastic place for a lunch. We went on a Thursday lunchtime and we were surprised at how busy it was. Most tables were full. The menu has lots of choice. From smaller bites to larger meals and then kids options too. Portion sizes were generous. Staff were friendly (even rushed off their feet). Very reasonable prices. I’ll be back!!

We popped in today to get a bite to eat and a pint. Even though they were fully booked they found a table for us once again the food service and hospitality were second to none. Thank you.

Booked a table for two on a Thursday night. Had the most tasty tender of steaks with a peppers, onion rings and proper chips. Really great service and some good ales served at the quaint little bar. Cheery atmosphere, reminded me of how great pubs were in the 80’s. Will definitely be back again

Waited three quarters of an hour for our meal after we ordered food was good but had to wait to order as my husband is glutton free and only the chef could tell him what he could have , she was too busy fussing over a baby before she decided to come to us don't think we will be going back in a hurryb

I was introduced to the Union Arms by friends. The food was home cooked and delicious, the staff friendly and the atmosphere relaxed. We had a fantastic lunch.

Food not as good as it use to be. My treat was chips with eggs and a pint, chips are now terrible. Still come in for drinks but no longer order food.

Rang up an hour before to book a Sunday lunch as not visited the pub before. Nice atmosphere, varied customers from familys to couples ...Good ambiance and the food was worth every penny.Lots of staff available to help and all looking like they enjoyed working there,would highly recommend and will be going back for food :-)

Though we live local it was our first visit.....it will not be the last, the service was very good, a good choice of food on the menu. The food was excellent and plentiful, I had the home made meat pie my Wife had the home made cheese and onion pie both excellent. Very friendly staff. We will definitely be back

Staff were very good, service with a smile. Food was really nice and also had vegan options on the menu. The vegan option I had was so good both in taste and presentation. Will definitely go again.

Quite nice, I ordered the halloumi fries and chips I wish I got more halloumi fries though. But they were very good I will definitely be coming back.

Great value food. Very busy, most having food. Mixed grill. Fish, chips and mushy peas. Chicken chorizo penne . Big daddy burger, too much for 17 year old to finish. Mixed grill brilliant. Children's mac and cheese good value and enjoyed by them. We will call again. Menu hard to read, writing too small.

This pub serves good food at great prices and the staff are great too . The only reason for a missing star is is on a bend of a very busy main road and nowhere to park .on a tuesday they do a pensioner special . 2 course is £5 95 .... 3 course .£6 95 .. excellent value for money . So you do need to book in advance . Give it a try .

This is a nice pub with a good food menu, there are some steps inside the building. The pub can get packed at busy times (even busier when sport is on TV). Friday around 6pm is busy with people usually

A lovely local pub and eatery. The perfect setting for a family meal or an outing with friends. Food was cooked to perfection and at an excellent price point. Might not be for everyone aesthetically but it's a proper local complete with a snug.

Although I haven’t been to the union arms having just watched the story on bbc news about what you do for dementia Patients it’s absolutely amazing it’s brought tears to my eyes I work with dementia patients you should be so proud of yourself and all your staff xx

Sharron , just watched you on television about your pub The Union Arms. You are doing a fantastic job helping people who suffer from Dementia in your area. I would to come one day to see your pub. Manchester is a long way from the South Wales Valleys but who knows ? Perhaps in other parts of the U.K. people could follow your example for these unfortunate people and their relatives .anyway a big thank you from people of South Wales Sharon and keep.up the good work xx

This pub serves great food at very affordable prices. The staff are very friendly and though there is sometimes a (long) wait for the food it is always piping hot, freshly cooked, served on hot plates, and very plentiful. The steak and ale pie is to die for, fantastic pastry and superb filling. Chips are from “real” potatoes and properly crispy and there is plenty of real veg that are fresh and crisp even if they are rather chunky. Good beers too, what a gem.

This is what I call a proper pub staff are friendly and can't do enough for you the food is fantastic and the drinks. Are reasonably priced p.s proper chips not cheap frozen ones highly recommend.

Came here with a member of family who's just moved to the area, great traditional pub with freshly cooked food and amazing homemade chips. They have a good selection of beers/ciders and a good few cask options. Welcoming and friendly staff, good atmosphere and great value for money only wish I lived round the corner too!

Great food, was part of a large group who arrived early so clashed with another pre-booked. Not an issue though all the food orders where dealt with without issues and quality and service was excellent

The food at the Union is really very tasty and home cooked went there today with my partner for her 40th Birthday and we enjoyed every minute of it as I said brilliant food very good service really jolly and helpful staff plus good choice of drinks we would highly recommend that if anyone hasn't been there give it a go you will not be disappointed ho forgot to say a very good menu with lots to choose from

Poor. The beer wasn't very good and not much choice, the service was slow. How has this place been awarded pub of the year by SW Lancs CAMRA? It was Monday evening (29th) around 9-10 pm. there was speedway on the tv.

Popped in for some lunch with my son, food here is absolutely spot on. Well cooked, great portion size and a good choice. Price are good. I went for the mixed grill, steak cooked how I asked, proper home made chips, son had veggie sausage and mash, which came with 4 sausage! I will definitely be visiting again.
