an amazing mother’s day experience i’ve stopped going out mother’s day as usually it’s always disappointing. Poor Food rushed service but not here Today was excellent. alAs usually even with a pa jed restaurant the staff have that ability to make you feel valued Nikki, Heidi , Rachel , Meg and new chap Ralph gave first class service and made sure we were well looked after My coconut magharita was awesome ( i sadly don’t know the mixologists name but he deserves a mention) The Roast was perfect. a butter knife would have cut through the beef …. well done the lighthouse. never ever disappoints and why I always bring visitors here My second visit of the week Top Food tip staff top service even on one of the busiest days of the year !!!

Staying local and called for drinks a couple of days (with some starters) and then Sunday lunch today (Easter Sunday) service has been great on each visit with lovely staff. Food on each occasion has been superb! Would highly recommend! Will definitely be back when staying local again.

Well, what can I say except BLOOMING DELICIOUS! Managed to grab a table last minute on a Saturday night. The little restaurant, about 8 or 9 tables, was full apart from a table for 2 which we bagged. The menu is small but packs a gastonomical sucker punch to the taste buds. We started with the grilled asparagus, gabiche (a sauce made with hard boiled egg yolk, mustard and oil) with parmesan and some garlic bread. The starter was so delicious, the asparagus cooked to perfection and topped with the sauce was so full of flavour, never had anything like it but would definitely order again. And the garlic bread really complimented it. For the main course my husband went for the Ventnor wild garlic radiatori (little radiator pasta shapes) with cashew pomegranate and I chose the sea bass. We shared the dishes and both were equally excellent. Not a morsel left on our plates and our tummies fully satisfied. We washed it all down with a bottle of rose, chosen by the owner, Dita. Dita is attentive and so knowledgeable, happy to explain each dish fully and help with choosing the food and or wine. The service was impeccable. This little restaurant is a must if you're visiting Ventnor. Perfect for every taste; meat eaters, pescetarians, vegetarians and vegans. Do book though as it does get busy. Cannot recommend it highly enough. Go see for yourself!

Stopped here with the family for a brunch on a Saturday. Was very busy but the friendly front of house girls were attentive and made sure we had a table, plus they wiped it down instantly rather than letting us sit near any mess. We ordered a small breakfast, a breakfast bap, and for our 7 year old, they allowed us to make up a plate of things as "extras" from the menu which was great. Not sure if they allow swaps or not on the set menu's (many in New Forest don't allow). The food was really tasty, all good quality ingredients, excellent butchers sausages, and HP/Heinz sauces (not refilled with cheap stuff). Coffee was also nice and everything served nice and hot. Excellent food, great service, clean - will return when next in the area on holidays.

We had just finished a hike (Grassington and Conistone circular), so we were a bit under-dressed for this very nice restaurant. My fault - didn’t do the research! We’d booked in advance given it was Good Friday but it was not very busy. Service was really lovely. Menu was not extensive and surprisingly after our exertions, we were not ravenous - so we ordered some sandwiches. All the food was terrific.

You have no idea what awaits you inside. Amazing friendly welcoming team from the moment you walk through the door. They serve breakfast, lunch, dinner and Sunday lunch. Like walking into grandparents house, loved the quirky. Good selection on the menu, food fresh and plenty of filling in sandwiches ( our lunch choice) . Not rushed and welcomed to stay until ready to leave. Great time. The couple need support, please visit

The pub itself is absolutely stunning, me and my partner visited yesterday evening and enjoyed a wonderful meal and some lovely drinks. The staff inside are very welcoming and genuinely want to talk to you! Had some great conversations, the pub itself is conveniently placed and has a warm fuzzy feeling inside. Local residents come in with their lovely dogs too and are so lovely and welcoming too. Staff are lovely, food is incredible. Thank you for making our evening so wholesome and lovely! It was an absolute pleasure to visit your establishment and spend a few hours. Absolutely awesome place 👌🏽

As a pie fanatic, I had to take the opportunity to visit whilst taking son to Ferry. Was so happy I did. Two of us had the Steak, Stilton and Port Gravy pie, with Hand Cut Chips and Mushy Peas. Phenomenal pie. Jam packed with beautifully cooked Steak, nice flavour from the cheese, and the gravy was superb. Very good chips and mushies as well. Son had the Cajun Chicken Burger, and really enjoyed it. Very friendly staff, decent music (not too loud) and nice atmosphere in a busy pub. Will have to come back to sample the other, equally delicious sounding, pies on the menu.

Another excellent lunch at the Pheasant. We've been several times over last 4 years and never been disappointed. This time we kicked off with salmon gravadlax with blood orange and deep fried squid followed by excellent hake in an Indonesian curry sauce with pak choi - superb!! With desserts, glass of wine each, bread (also very good - ciabatta, lightly toasted with butter on the side) the bill came to just over £100. The standards are very high and you won't be disappointed!
