Excellent experience at the Puffin' Rooms sampling the cigar menu. We came for a stag party and had paid for our friends experience as he likes a cigar every now and again. I was very pleased with the amount of varieties of cigars available, and the knowledge of the staff members when we had any questions about them. I asked for something sweet but woody and they recommended a nice french cigar although I cannot recall it's name. The drink selection was very good, and there were lots of excellent tasting whiskeys and cocktails available. Overall excellent experience for both people new to cigars, and those who regularly partake in them!

10/10 one of my favourites in the city of Liverpool. The music is ace the drinks are class and the atmosphere. 100% recommend

Booked a rum tasting experience and although looked forward to it for a while the actual experience outstripped all my hopes. Setting and staff were both stunning especially our host and rum expert Micah who was fantastic, absolutely 5 star. Will definitely be returning

Great small plates, great service and a really nice intimate atmosphere

I had an amazing experience at the Puffin Rooms yesterday! It was my first time visiting a cigar lounge, and I can confidently say it won’t be my last. From the moment we arrived, our hostess Emily was incredibly warm and welcoming. She made sure our drinks were always topped up and, as a first-timer, she was so informative and helpful in guiding me through the cigar selection. After finishing our drinks and cigars, we moved to the main bar area where we enjoyed some great live music, which was the perfect way to end the evening. A huge thank you to Emily for making our visit so special—I’ll definitely be back!

Awful experience at this over priced joke of a place. After booking we arrived 10 minutes late but our table still wasn't ready. Very unprofessional. When we entered the cigar lounge nobody said anything about having to pay 10 times the price for there rubbish selection of over priced cigars so as we were waiting for a drink, cut two cigars ready to light. we were then told by the weasely, unshaven, untidy, so called manager we are not allowed to smoke our own cigars even though drinks are ordered so then we left as looking at the absolute pathetic joke of a cigar menu I didn't feel like taking a mortgage out on the house as the cigars are at least 10 times more expensive than what I buy online, appalling!!!

I went to puffin rooms with a friend on a Saturday in January for her birthday, absolutely loved the place!! We had an amazing time, the cocktails were fabulous and the selection was amazing! Sonny was so attentive and helpful all night and made the experience so fun. Victoria the singer is incredible! What an atmosphere! Her voice oozes soul and she is so good at what she does, she makes the experience! Will definitely be coming back!

Great evening in the room. Spent the time in the cigar lounge. Great atmosphere, whiskey and cigars. Highly recommend for a relaxing great evening. I didn't try the food so I can't rate it.

This was the experience I was hoping for. First time ever trying a cigar lounge and getting to enjoy the most pleasant atmosphere of light background jazz music, the aromas of the cigars and the best old fashioned I've had. The service was brilliant and the staff were amazing, thank you Amy for helping me choose the right cigar for my evening. The bar staff were all great and full of knowledge expressing the way they make their drinks. Top of my best experiences. Thank you to all. I fully recommend this to anyone who enjoys a fine cigar and drinks. Unfortunately the food option wasn't available for the Monday night when I visited but doesn't take away the experience had.

I attended here last night with my boyfriend and our friend. We had such an amazing time. The service was excellent. We started in the cigar rooms and were taken care of by an absolutely lovely lady called Amy. Then we moved to the music room and bar where we were served with some amazing whiskeys and listened to some wonderful music. Sonny and Harry were amazing and all of the staff were extremely knowledgable. We were made to feel very relaxed and welcome. We are planning on coming again next month as we had such a wonderful time. Thank you xxxx

Brilliant, certainly an experience, the staff are welcoming and knowledgeable about the products, an unexpected highlight was the incredibly talented pianist setting the mood for the evening.

Tried the Whisky training session with a friend. We were well looked after by Harry and the staff. He had a great knowledge of the whiskys he suggested we try. An unhurried experience Lovely surroundings with a very relaxed vibe. This was our second visit and we will definitely be back. Thanks again, Harry.

We had an amazing visit again. Puffin Rooms is a hidden gem, which transports you back to a bygone age of the speakeasy & top quality cigars. On Sunday 24th November 2024, we went with friends who attended a Whiskey Masterclass (our wedding gift to them) & we attended a Wine Masterclass, which was the first one ever to be held - the Wine Mastercalss went so well that it will probably be added to the events on a permanent basis. The experiences were amazing - our hosts were so knowledgeable & made it such a wonderful occasion. We were able to sample beautiful wines & whiskeys, which were chosen to our taste & then paired perfectly with a selection of food. The Masterclasses are a wonderful gift or a special treat, delivered to perfection by hosts who know their trade inside out. Music was provided by Victoria Sharpe who, once again, impressed with her wonderful vocals & amazing piano skills - random requests were given to Victoria by the audience & Victoria sang & played every single song note perfect, but in her own unique & beautiful style!! So THANKYOU for making our Sunday that extra bit special & helping us make unforgettable memories!! We can't wait to visit again ❤️ Julie & Steve, Wirral

As a loyal patron of the Puffin Rooms and a frequent visitor to the adjoining cigar shop, I have always appreciated the ambiance and quality these establishments offered. Unfortunately, my recent experience fell strikingly short of expectations due to significant changes in the staff. The experience began with an unexpectedly cold and unwelcoming reception from the door staff. Once inside, the service only worsened. The waitstaff exhibited a surprisingly poor attitude, marked by rudeness and a distinct lack of accountability when our drink orders were incorrect. There was a palpable sense from some staff members that they would rather be elsewhere, which was particularly evident in how one member addressed my wife. The small female staff member who served our table was unprofessional and displayed an alarming lack of respect when engaging with our party of four. It was abundantly clear that training and experience were lacking across the board, which greatly impacted our enjoyment of the evening. Having spent a considerable amount of money over the years at both the Puffin Rooms and the cigar shop, I expected a level of service that matched the reputation they had built. Unfortunately, this experience was enough to ensure that I will not return. I am deeply disappointed to see such a decline and will no longer trust this venue with my time or patronage.

I came here on the 4th of October, the staff were so helpful, i came to celebrate my 18th birthday and the staff are so lovely, they helped me choose a perfect davidoff cigar, and they recommended a beautiful glass of scotch which was delightful, i will definitely be visiting again in the future. I am just wondering what was that glass of scotch i had , because I would love to have it again.

Second visit to Puffin’ Rooms for the live music and whisky/cocktails. Superb live music - this time with a blues theme - playing requests and great rapport with customers. Small intimate venue creates a great atmosphere. Will be back soon! Only slight downside was the service - had to ask three times for some tap water - surely not that labour intensive - but otherwise brilliant. Friendly staff, great musicians - can’t wait to visit again!

I had a superb evening sampling whiskeys and puffing a fabulous cigar in a fantastic venue. A perfect setting, beautifully lit, and with wonderfully friendly staff who were as knowledgeable as they were accommodating. Harry in particular was a perfect host, and a picture of sartorial sophistication! I shall definitely be going back as soon as I can!

I’ve been to many a cigar lounge around the world & this one is one of nicest I’ve ever visited with the best staff. It’s one of few places I’ve seen younger serious cigar smokers, I think that speaks to how fresh it feels in here as well being traditional and elegant. I can't understand why the puffin rooms hasn't got 5 stars. This is our go to place after an evening or night out as it concludes the day amazingly. The staff, service and atmosphere are out of this world. We particularly enjoy the cigar sampling room, which is arguably the best in the UK. Keep up what you're doing guys, it's brilliant. Guys, quick update. 12/10/2024. Yet again you did your upmost and accommodated us. The staff, as always were amazing, knowledgeable and provided that level of hospitality that I love from the venue. What an amazing, interesting place. I’m not a smoker but I had a puff on a cigar! The atmosphere is chilled and relaxing. Emily who greeted us talked us through all the cigars and whiskeys. She was very knowledgeable and friendly. A great experience.

VISITED TWICE NOW.. The weird comment on the puffin rooms toilets.. They are simply two seperare loo's no sharing of toilets at all, they are nicely designed with the style of the place too. This place is exceptional and i hope it is kept for yearsm the cigar bar is stunning. We did nit once smell cigars on either occasion UNLESS you go in the cigar bar and then its there but 1) it is so well vented it cleans up rather quickly and 2) who doesn't love the smell of a good cigar! MOST IMPORTANT NOTE TO OWNER: The standards of service have slipt a little bit they are still very good but they arent quite as excellent so just tidy that up a bit of you could. Overall yet another great visit

Have to say this place really is the best

When you arrive at the Puffin Rooms the first thing you notice is the overpowering smell of cigar smoke. We were shown to our table in the eating area, which is in a lovely room, but on this occasion was extremely cold. Our young waiter whilst pleasant enough aired on cocky, when I asked him where the ladies room was he told me it was 2024 and it was a unisex bathroom. It really was, there was a man in there who hadn’t shut the cubicle door! We ordered drinks which were good and whilst the food is quite nice, it is small plates of starter like food. We asked for some side plates and were brought saucers…we ordered a sharing cheeseboard and asked for some side plates…. You’ve guessed it… more saucers! Presumably straight from the dishwasher ( they were still wet ). We ordered wine but it never arrived…. Then we were told the next customers had arrived early and they needed the table. At this point the singer had started ( it’s loud in a very small area ) so we got the bill and left. This place is probably ok if you want drinks & nibbles but not if you want a relaxing meal.

Singer and pianist were excellent. The rest of the evening was mediocre. We had a table at the bar which you think would mean good service but in fact we were wrong. The bar staff were more interested in chatting to each other than being attentive. The drinks were great once served though. We didn’t eat so cannot comment on that but the free bar snacks were good. The toilets were disgusting. They are only two and both are unisex and clearly not being checked by the staff. I quietly let one of the team know and all I got was I’ll let my manager know but it was some time before the poor barman was sent in to mop up the mess! Honestly the worst toilets we’ve been in after spending 3 days in Liverpool. This place had so much promise but we were really let down and would not go back.

Booked dinner in the Puffin Room for 11 people in August. When we arrived at the resturant we were warmly welcomed. However when presented with the menu it was clear that all that was available were canopies and totally different from the menu that was advertised when we booked. We were not informed of the menu change although a £110 deposit had been paid to secure the booking. We eventually left the resturant without eating. The review would have been one star if it was not for the 2 waitress who greeted us. Very disappointed experience

An absolute joke, booked the cigar lounge for 7 over a week in advance paid the deposit. The gentlemen then calls and says the cigar lounge is full we have put you in the bar instead. If I wanted the bar I would of booked the bar, ruined a birthday well done. And do not even deny that I booked it wrong because the previous gentlemen confirmed it was the cigar lounge. Additionally why are you calling 4 hours before the reservation even though I have paid deposit? Clearly you have done a error on your end booked to many people, then thought let's just cancel the big table. An absolute Joke. Audacity to ask if the deposit should be refunded 😂, no mate charge me that as well.

I’ve been to Puffin Rooms many times. It’s my go to place to dine alone or with friends when I’m working in Liverpool. It’s quiet, cosy, full of atmosphere, the team who run the place are all lovely. Food, Malbec are exceptional. Funnily enough I’m not the world’s biggest jazz fan but I keep coming back!

Been here 3 different times on 3 different visits to Liverpool. Having been to a few different cigar rooms, this one really disappoints. First visit they were throwing members out after their time to allow in loud and obnoxious crowds. Second they were snobbish and patronising. Last they had a manager outside who gestured to his neck telling us ‘it’s all done’, presumably meaning closed, and then being patronising when asking for clarity. There won’t be a fourth. Been to many cigar lounges and been welcoming and relaxed. This one makes you feel you should be relieved to let inside. Young staff who are aloof and some of the worst customer service I’ve received anywhere. Even the cigar selection is average. Avoid.

We went here last Sunday and had a great night. Staff could not be more helpful and pleasant. There was a duo who played live music and they were brilliant and very funny too. The place has such a lovely ambience and it is a bit special - a wonderful place to celebrate a birthday in a sophisticated venue. Gorgeous cocktails and delicious food. Highly recommended!

We booked the Puffin rooms for a birthday treat with a Whisky tasting experience. This was something really different and we were led by Harry who was amazing and made the experience really interesting for us. We got to try Whisky’s from Japan to the Lake District and had some food inbetween. Puffin rooms is such a lovely place and to have the Jazz music on a Sunday really made the day even more special. Victoria took requests and sang to my son. Cocktails are amazing too as is the food. If you want something special and get looked after by the lovely team get it booked. We loved it. Thanks to all the team :)

Remember this: A well-designed cigar lounge with comfortable chairs and inviting decorations, creating a relaxing atmosphere. Live music adds to the cool vibe. The lounge offers a good selection of cigars to cater to different tastes. The standout feature is the helpful and knowledgeable staff. The cocktails are unique and special to the lounge. Despite being the only cigar lounge in Liverpool, the service is not lacking in any way and lives up to the standard of a premium bar.

Atmosphere was great. Food was beautiful! Cheese board was excellent and cocktails were great. Service from staff was attentive and charming. Big thank you to the staff on Friday 9th August who made our evening great. Sonny was brilliant 👍

The food, the staff, the atmosphere... this place is unbelievable. Lewis, Amy, Joe, Liam... the staff make this place. And the food is exquisite. I cannot recommend this establishment enough. Felt rushed in the cigar lounge after spending over £130 on sticks & £60 on drinks. 2 hour slot with a rolling count down from staff on how long I had left at my table. Overall good selection and was a nice purified comfortable room. I would visit again but it will be a while.

What an absolutely amazing place, like another word, friend and I did a whisky tasting and treated like royalty. Very knowledgeable and informative amazing choice of countless whiskeys. Definitely recommend.

Came here for my friends stag do and where greeted warmly despite being there as soon as they opened, the staff took exceptional care of us. Showed a real expertise in what they where doing and the information they where sharing. Theo (please say im remembering right its been a while) was a delight joined in with our humour while always giving top class service. If you value your environment while having a drink or a smoke this is the ideal place. If i could rate higher i would. The highlight of the Stag for all 4 of us who attended the venue.

Fantastic time with Ben doing a masterclass. He was extremely knowledgeable and very friendly throughout. The bar as a whole is lovely. If you could imagine a place to go and enjoy a quiet whiskey, this would be it. The owners have done an amazing job creating this bar.

Stumbled across The Puffin' Rooms yesterday in Liverpool. One moment we were browsing the main entrance, next minute we were transported back in time, to perhaps the 1920s, I'm not sure. All I do know is, it was a fabulous experience. We spent just over an hour in a private lounge area, it was like being transported back in time. I don't drink whiskey or smoke, but that all changed, the moment I entered the lounge. A fabulous cigar and a whiskey, plenty of photos taken, we thoroughly enjoyed it all. I'd like the thank the wonderful staff there, who were so very helpful and attentive, friendly yet very professional. As I departed I said I'd come back sometime in future, better dressed. I'd say that part of the experience would be to at least wear some half decent clothing. I highly recommend The Puffin' Rooms. It doesn't matter if you don't drink whiskey or smoke cigars. But by the time you leave, you may find that you 'do, now!'. Brilliant.

What a find!! Jazz, whiskey & cigars… what’s not to love? The atmosphere here was like nowhere else - laid back, fabulous service by staff who were knowledgeable and obviously interested in what they were doing, & who went out of their way to provide a great experience for us. We will definitely be making this a regular haunt!

Popped in for a drink. The staff are really friendly and very knowledgeable.

We showed up at 7pm and were told music didn’t start until 9. We came back at 9 and the same guy told us everything was reserved and wouldn’t let us in. We took a cab to get there and walked all the way back only to get kicked out. Bad place

We went here last night, and from arriving to leaving, the service was 5⭐️. The staff made us feel welcome. The gent that served our drinks offered recommendations for what we liked. This was top-notch service. The atmosphere inside the cigar lounge was fantastic it was quite relaxed exactly what you'd hope the lounge to be. In the main lounge, later on, there was a jazz pianist. Unfortunately, we didn't have enough time to be able to fully enjoy her music. There is an extensive drinks menu ranging in price from £8-800 with all types of spirits, mainly whiskey, but there were some other options, including rum and gin. The cigar options were also fantastic. Overall, we had an absolutely delightful experience, and we will be back at some point in the future.

Visited with a friend in February for a whisky tasting given as a birthday present. We were with Theo (I think, he had a concussion at the time), and he brought us a huge selection of whiskies to choose out 4 from. The talk through of the whisky making process and history, plus the shouts about the whiskies we chose were also really interesting. Plus we had a good opportunity to just chat absolute nonsense with him at the end. I wa also introduced to my new favourite whisky (Ledaig Bordeaux cask). Will definitely be back to try more whiskies and maybe even a cocktail in the future.

Just came for drinks on my birthday so didn't try the food. Wonderful cosy atmosphere. Great live music and very attentive, professional and enthusiatic staff; a real credit to the owner. A gem of a place. Well done everyone.

My partner and I frequent here for date nights and occasions, and there is a reason why. Victoria Sharpe, one of the singers is absolutely incredible and has become a good friend since singing a requested song for us on one of our first dates, now until our first anniversary. Our server on our anniversary, Adam, was nothing but attentive and he always has been every time we have been in. The cigar selection and quality is top notch. Whiskey selection too, even if we ask for something off the menu. I have so much love for this place. And you should too.

I made a reservation for my boss and his wife and to say they were extremely impressed is an understatement. The service, food, cocktails, ambience were outstanding and to top it all, the amazing Cigar lounge. Would 100% recommend - you will not be disappointed.

Under “food” I reserve those 5 stars for the phenomenal Old Fashioned - the best I’ve had in YEARS of trying them wherever I can - and a mind-blowing concoction of their own called the “Old Tobashioned”, which is a must if you like a smoked Old Fashioned. The cigar hostess (Aimee, I think) was knowledgeable and attentive way beyond expectation and the singer Victoria sent us back to some mythical bygone era of style! Can’t recommend the place enough, get a Joya de Nicaragua Corona if ya know what’s good for ya!!

Go on a Friday / Saturday for live music. We had a pianist who was excellent and took requests, it made our night. Excellent service too, the drinks were pricey and unique, but the atmosphere made it all worth it.

Went for the cocktail masterclass - Honestly one of the best experiences I have ever done! I did not expect the level of hospitality, friendliness and value of this experience! The ambience is amazing, the drinks are amazing and the service is amazing! Kleh, our masterclass teacher, was beyond friendly and kind, chatting away and making us feel so welcome. He was so knowledgeable but also laid back, and made the most experience just so fun. I sometimes worry about going to such fancy cocktail bars, but honestly I could not recommend this enough for literally anyone - Cocktail beginner or connoisseur! Once again thank you Kleh you are an absolute winner and I look forward to coming back soon :)

Looked after from start to finish

First time visit here on a trip to Liverpool to visit my Daughter. It's a bit like a private members club. Classy. The Jazz pianist was excellent with good banter. Monday night, so quiet, but fantastic atmosphere. My wife loved it too. Would definately go back.

I have to say, I have found my heaven on earth. Its just a pity its over 250miles away from home.. I arrived in Liverpool on the Friday and instantly fell in love with this place, so much so I returned on the Saturday and Sunday. The decor is sumptuous, the food scrumptious, the drink menu extensive.. the staff are warm, welcoming and professional in all they do.. Emily, Joe, Gareth, and Adam excel and evidently love and enjoy their place of work, I cant credit them enough. I also had the joy of being serenaded by Victoria on the piano and Matthew on the guitar, they bring the instruments alive with great health, their vocals are harmonious and it really is a pleasure to listen to them whilst eating such wonderful food. And well, the puffin lounge, wow, simply wow... it is amazing, very comfy, perfect amount of lighting to have the relaxed ambient feel, and again to listen to live music whilst puffin on the finest the world has to offer is special and a privilege.. im sadly back home and trying to schedule my return.. thank you to all I had the honour of meeting Kindest regards Pete 💜⚒️💙

Probably the best venue in the UK, especially when Victoria Sharpe is playing 🎹🎶 The food was amazing, fantastic service, great atmosphere, huge selection of whiskey and cocktails PLUS the most amazing live music. It all feels like a secret members club and we absolutely loved it.

What a wonderful place this is. We went for our anniversary and the atmosphere is amazing, very relaxed and the service is impeccable. Special shout out to Joe who couldn't do enough for us and made our evening even more memorable. One of our favourite places in Liverpool and i totally recommend you to come here.

Turned away as we had shorts on. Would totally accept this under normal circumstances, but on a hot summers day in the afternoon, it felt a little loaded. No mention of a dress code on their website.

Purchased beers, whiskeys and cigars between us all, Adam was very professional throughout and made sure we were happy and settled. Atmosphere inside was fantastic, a nice relaxed vibe and live singer & piano music boosted the relaxed mood. Staff are great to deal with, will definitely be returning in future.

Went with family on Saturday night and blown away by the friendly welcome,fantastic atmosphere ,amazing singer and jazz pianist lovely cocktails and food and lovely waitress - Amy - who was so bubbly and warm and even played the piano! Thanks for an unforgettable evening!

I've never been in places like this... I simply don't belong there at all... but... if I tried to relax and taste nice red wine paired with not really smooth but best whisky I've had holding my first cigar THIS IS THE ONLY PLACE.

Great food, served in a beautifully appointed room, complete with pianist and singer. The menu is varied, the portions are adequate. Drinks were lovely. Cocktails and wine were sampled! Really enjoyed our two visits there.

The food was really delicious here. The  staff are also kind and friendly. They even help you in recommending. The service was also fast. I would really like to visit it again

You could not ask for a better atmosphere.. service (especially Amy) and venue was outstanding! Well looked after and to be given an umbrella to help us on our way to the next venue for a birthday meal!! Much needed during a heavy storm!! Thank you
