Lovely atmosphere, great beers and better food !

What a pub this is. Great to discover this jewel of Liverpool for real ale drinkers. For people of a certain age, this is a "proper" pub. It's not all gastro, trendy and uncomfortable. It's welcoming, 'lived in' and traditional. It has a huge array of beers on cask, keg and in bottles if you like the Abbey/Trappist stuff. Not confined in the styles they offer, this place must really shift its beer and can therefore offer all the styles going. A must visit spot for real ale lovers and I'm told the food is also good. I'll be back to try that asap 😍🍻🎉

Brilliant pub, with an excellent selection of regularly changing beers. Heavily recommended for anyone in Liverpool.

Been going to the ship for probably 30 years, and it's not changed a lot. OK, they used to have gas lamps which smelt like the whole place would explode with the hint of a spark, but now all safe and electric... The food is similar, ordered from the hatches as you come in from Dale Street, and the bars look the same. The rear area is where the more craft kegs are located, plus a few more handpulls, and is much quieter and comfier. A cracking pub with a lot to offer in all areas, although the beer range seems to be a bit more restrained recently and the food isn't available as much hence 4 stars, but if I could have given 4.5 then I would have!

Killer beef scouse from the kitchen. Solid gin and tonic at the bar. Chill place.

Great pub and first choice for my husband's 60th. We used the function room upstairs and One Pan Band for the food - which was amazing (curry and Scouse). The staff were all lovely and all organisation went like clockwork. We had a great night. Recommended.

My favourite pub in Liverpool. Best beer selection anywhere, regularly updating menu too. Best Scouse I've ever tasted in Liverpool too. The vibe is always nice, no annoying people in this place, and it can range from students all the way up to the retired.

Quite a few types of beer, both on tap and in bottles from the refrigerator. Friendly staff, good vibe. You can also eat there. You order food at a separate point near the entrance.

We have visited Liverpool 12 times in last 6 years from Scotland. First time we found this place. Pretty awesome to be fair at least 577687345 bears to choose from ,cask bottles draft craft you name it. Friendly bar staff. We will be back for sure.

What can I say......I actually didn't want to post a review! This is because this should actually remain a local matter!! But if you, as a tourist, want to get something from a local pub, then you should stop by here to enjoy different types of beer. Maybe your favorite beer from home, and then the meal that you can order here. You can't get more local than that. I was very impressed with the pork belly!! I love traveling and discovering local places. Maybe I'm a tourist, I feel happier among the locals because then you really get the feeling of the place you are visiting 🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗♥️♥️♥️♥️. Thank you for this secret gem and for the lady behind the bar who lived in Eindhoven!! Thank you for this experience!!!

Sunny day, sat outside on Dale Street for a quick pint. Lovely little pub. Didn't have food but menu looks great. Parking opposite pub.

What a fantastic relaxing Sunday afternoon. A great meal of top end restaurant quality at pub prices. A decent range of real eight cask conditioned real ales including a porter and a stout.

Cask beer selection has deteriorated a little!

Really good pub a short walk from the Liverpool Lime Street. They had an excellent selection of continental beers, mostly German and Belgian. They had my favourite wheat beer and many others I had not heard of. The food looked really good and would come back to try. Bar staff were friendly .

Great traditional English pub. Essential in food but makes a good Beef scouse.

Lovely venuce with a great selection of beers. Unfortunately unless you've brought a spare set of limbs you'll struggle to cough up the arm and the leg to afford them!

This was a super pub for drinking, with a raw feel that makes its ship name worthy! The wooden architecture is styled suitably, counter is well-presented and wooden seating is smooth at the tables too. Plenty of different ciders are available and I was lucky enough to get a pear cider, staff were nice too!

Very authentic place with friendly staff. We tried the typical Liverpool scouse and we were quite surprised because we expected something more bland but it was very tasty and spicy. The butter is very tasty too. Good beers and atmosphere.

Vast collection of craft beers. Lots of favourites as well as new beers rotating all the time. Thursday a busy night with the quiz on, you may struggle to get a table. Great place to spend an afternoon.

Good Old Pub with massive choose of alcohol, special a lot of different beers. You can find some nice cold beer, served with original glasses, plays some games and spend good vibes with friends

Lovely art deco building from the outside. Rustic ship inside. Fantastic choice of beers and ciders. The one pan band will provide you with a simple, but tasty menu. Friendly feel inside. Recommended.

Cozy and warm pub absolutely worth a visit. One of the better pub experiences during my day in Liverpool. Has that old, earthy, rustic feel and look. Great menu available on a Sunday. And quite busy, clearly a popular place. They pour a great pint and in hindsight I should have ordered some food. Will return one day again, hopefully.

Easily the best pub in the city, have been on countless occasions and never been let down. Literally hundreds of drink options, fantastic food from the One Pan Band and always a great atmosphere no matter what time of the day. Can't recommend it more.

Really good restaurante to have lunch/dinner or just try good local beers (they have so many!). We enjoyed both dishes but the lentils were really awesome. They also have scouse in case somebody wants to try. Definitely worth it to try. 100% recommended!

Great atmosphere, but cook totally uninterested in customer comfort. Not prepared to do veg instead of chunky chips, which were badly done. Mushy peas were puré not mushy, tartatare was OK except one of us got all the onions. Fish was not top quality. Beer good. Food suffered from cook's greater desire to fiddle with phone than satisfy a customer. It was steak Wednesday but they ran out of steak by 7.30. The cook needs to go back to college and do customer care course. In 6 years of a low carb diet, the Ship and Mitre is the first restaurant across Europe not to oblige me.

100% the best pub in the world & I’ve been to a few 1000 all over the world. It’s even better now they have an amazing chef as well. An absolute must go to pub. Atmosphere great, customers great (never seen any trouble in there) beer epic, literally the biggest selection I’ve ever seen) and lovely staff.

Best scouse in town. Food service at the hatch keeping the bar clear for any orders. Plenty of staff on hand at all times to handle demand and a proper classic pub atmosphere. Who could ask for more?

Our go-to pub in Liverpool. The selection of craft beers, real ales and ciders is fantastic and means there’s always something for everyone. Traditional pubs don’t get much better than this. One of the staff even gifted a bag of crisps to my young son as he was flagging, an extremely kind gesture and shows you they care about their customers. Been here 15+ times and will never stop coming back when we visit Liverpool.

First visit and very impressed. Great selection of ales and bottles to carry out. Will try the food on a future visit. Scouse looks like the go to choice on the menu.

A great find during our short break in the city. Good selection of real ales and a good atmosphere, even midweek. Food needs to be ordered and paid for via the separate concession style kitchen inside rather than at the bar, we both had the Beef Scouse (gotta be done when visiting Liverpool), which was absolutely delicious. A place to revisit when we come back.

I don't tend to go to pubs but this was a family get together. It was a nice enough place. Very busy but service was more than acceptable. It was a very pleasant afternoon from the bits i recall. Certainly a very merry one
