The Ship And Mitre Pub . in Liverpool

A revisit to an old haunt. Did not disappoint. Had a great choice of real ales. The pub also has a great selection of Belgium beers either to drink or take away. The food is provided by a seperate company which is quite novel. It is a small select menu. The food is absolutely delicious and has good-sized portions. I had Haggis, Neeps, and Tatties. The Neeps were cubed and roasted, which was a change from the sloppy stuff. Well done. Looking forward to visiting again.

Good old-fashioned pub with a great selection of real ale. Called in for a bite to eat a good pint. While the food was lacking in the "five a day day" department, and maybe a bit heavy-handed on the salt, it was very tasty, very reasonably priced and just what was needed on a cold winter's day. Both the macaroni cheese on fries and the ham hock rarebit on sourdough can be recommended! And the sraff were lovely! Well worth seeking out.

Always a great place for drinks!

Used to go here years ago when living in Liverpool and have ventured back a couple of times more recently. Loads of good beers available, friendly service and they still have the lesser spotted quiz machine!

Simply a gem in the heart of Liverpool. We entered almost by chance, escaping the rain. To our surprise we found ourselves in a wonderful traditional British pub, with a wide variety of beers. The atmosphere was wonderful, incredible people wanting to have a good time. We even learned to play darts with another group of people.

Great beers, food and lovely staff Let down by toilets in need of attention

I liked the large choice. It was super stuff. If I ever enter the Liverpool again, I'll make a monumental effort to drink from their inappropriate glass vessels. Getting the wrong glass was hilario TBH.

Customer service A1 Sent a message to ask if they sold beers to go as needed a last minute gift for my husband. Replied really quickly to advise had an array to choose from for takeaway. Called in on my lunch break and was helped by the brilliant staff and I think the owner who was very knowledgeable in helping me make my selection. I left with 3 beers a pint glass. I know my husband will be made up with them tomorrow. We will definitely visit for drinks when we come out to Liverpool in the future.

Good little pub, was only in for one drink so didn't experience alot. But what I saw was very nice looking food, good variety in drinks and snacks. Friendly staff. Would recommend

This is a proper drinkers pub. I didn't eat but I really wish I had because it looked incredible frankly. The real ale is good and there's a load of choice. It's a CAMRA real ale place and loved by students. There was a quiz on when I went on Thursday.

Nice pub, good selection of beers and ales that change as the barrels are drank dry, but it's great to be able to see what is coming up next.

Lovely evening spent in the Ship & Mitre for a drink and some food. I enjoyed Delirium Red on tap along with a delicious bowl of beef scouse. Staff are friendly and it was a classic pub atmosphere - very lovely indeed

The food was very good and surprisingly so given that we went in quite late on a Friday. I would definitely return.

Love the Ship and have been going every Thursday night for 7 years - my favourite pub however, the last 2 weeks we’ve been close to walking out because of the amount of flies buzzing around the tables going for our food and drinks. Really hope this is sorted out

Probably the best pub in Liverpool for craft ales. Been many times over the past few years and it never disappoints. The food is lovely too. Full kudos to all the staff keep doing what you do !

It's my favourite pub in Liverpool. Great memories from the mid 80s whilst at uni. It hasn't really changed too much although it now has a much broader and more fabulous selection of beers.

I love everything about this place. Great ale, great atmosphere and the bar staff are always friendly. If you're in Liverpool, you've got to go here. 10/10

What a fantastic little pub right in the centre of Liverpool great service and the food was amazing I will definitely be returning to this place on my next visit. Fruli Strawberry beer on tap and the Ham,Egg and chips was the best I've had for a very long time.

Good old school pub, great food. Just want to update this: I don't drink anymore, and their 0% selection is VERY decent. Enjoyed the Jever, 0.5%. So even my niche market is respected in this classic pub

Traditional pub with an extensive range of different beers on offer. Beers range from £3 upwards. Recommend Fruli which is always on tap here. Staff are friendly and it's always bustling and can be tricky to get a seat. The kitchen has a variety of visiting chefs and the food is always excellent. We've had Bao and One Pan Band and both chefs food is delicious.

What a pub this is. Great to discover this jewel of Liverpool for real ale drinkers. For people of a certain age, this is a "proper" pub. It's not all gastro, trendy and uncomfortable. It's welcoming, 'lived in' and traditional. It has a huge array of beers on cask, keg and in bottles if you like the Abbey/Trappist stuff. Not confined in the styles they offer, this place must really shift its beer and can therefore offer all the styles going. A must visit spot for real ale lovers and I'm told the food is also good. I'll be back to try that asap 😍🍻🎉

Brilliant pub, with an excellent selection of regularly changing beers. Heavily recommended for anyone in Liverpool.

Been going to the ship for probably 30 years, and it's not changed a lot. OK, they used to have gas lamps which smelt like the whole place would explode with the hint of a spark, but now all safe and electric... The food is similar, ordered from the hatches as you come in from Dale Street, and the bars look the same. The rear area is where the more craft kegs are located, plus a few more handpulls, and is much quieter and comfier. A cracking pub with a lot to offer in all areas, although the beer range seems to be a bit more restrained recently and the food isn't available as much hence 4 stars, but if I could have given 4.5 then I would have!

Killer beef scouse from the kitchen. Solid gin and tonic at the bar. Chill place.

Great pub and first choice for my husband's 60th. We used the function room upstairs and One Pan Band for the food - which was amazing (curry and Scouse). The staff were all lovely and all organisation went like clockwork. We had a great night. Recommended.

My favourite pub in Liverpool. Best beer selection anywhere, regularly updating menu too. Best Scouse I've ever tasted in Liverpool too. The vibe is always nice, no annoying people in this place, and it can range from students all the way up to the retired.

Quite a few types of beer, both on tap and in bottles from the refrigerator. Friendly staff, good vibe. You can also eat there. You order food at a separate point near the entrance.

We have visited Liverpool 12 times in last 6 years from Scotland. First time we found this place. Pretty awesome to be fair at least 577687345 bears to choose from ,cask bottles draft craft you name it. Friendly bar staff. We will be back for sure.

What can I say......I actually didn't want to post a review! This is because this should actually remain a local matter!! But if you, as a tourist, want to get something from a local pub, then you should stop by here to enjoy different types of beer. Maybe your favorite beer from home, and then the meal that you can order here. You can't get more local than that. I was very impressed with the pork belly!! I love traveling and discovering local places. Maybe I'm a tourist, I feel happier among the locals because then you really get the feeling of the place you are visiting 🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗♥️♥️♥️♥️. Thank you for this secret gem and for the lady behind the bar who lived in Eindhoven!! Thank you for this experience!!!

Sunny day, sat outside on Dale Street for a quick pint. Lovely little pub. Didn't have food but menu looks great. Parking opposite pub.

What a fantastic relaxing Sunday afternoon. A great meal of top end restaurant quality at pub prices. A decent range of real eight cask conditioned real ales including a porter and a stout.

Really good pub a short walk from the Liverpool Lime Street. They had an excellent selection of continental beers, mostly German and Belgian. They had my favourite wheat beer and many others I had not heard of. The food looked really good and would come back to try. Bar staff were friendly .
