The best restaurants in United Kingdom serving British food

We came for a Sunday lunch and every bit of it was delicious. All 3 courses were perfectly cooked and I would particularly recommend the aged beef - it was soft and fell apart as you ate it. Not your traditional roast but a great experience all around and nice to meet Chef Raffaela after the meal. Will definitely come again.

Visited at about 5pm on a Saturday afternoon. Was reasonably busy but easily found a table. Quick service and excellent fish meal. Piping hot and really tasty. I don’t think you could find better value than this. £18.60 for two fish meals with tea . Plus some bread and butter.

Wonderful interesting food and a lovely friendly atmosphere. Visited on a wet and windy Saturday for lunch and absolutely loved the menu. I’m not usually a pudding person but the cinnamon ice cream with candied pecans and chilli honey was 10/10!

Excellent food, ambient and service. We had Ribs and the Roast with Sirloin. All delicious. The ribs barbecue sauce is particularly special and tasty.

Went for a Birthday meal ,food was superb, excellent service, look forward to returning in the near future

Terrible lightning, had to move tables to avoid the ceiling spot lights, the restaurant was soulless, no atmosphere..such a pity.

The food and drink served at tilly peppers is fantastic and its consistent in quality every time I go, The staff are also warm and welcoming and I highly recommend this place, thankyou for a great experience

A very friendly place. Lovely, helpful service including toward children and dogs. Delicious cakes and a delightful menu. No fancy hipsteresque artisan superfluousness, just hearty, solid and excellent fare. Thank you!

What can I say about this wonderful little gem. The food is excellent, and Fernanda is so friendly and welcoming. It's like going home except your mum is cooking a 5 star luxurious meal. Will be coming back again. Very good produce, no need for sides, and the seasoning was so good that on every table, the salt and pepper remained un touched. Brilliant.

Lovely food with lots of variety on offer. Lovely service, felt like a friend of the pub on only my second visit, and just a lovely atmosphere. Spent £20 p/p on a main and a drink, and was worth every penny. Feel good to be supporting such an establishment

Didn't try the food,but smelt and looked delicious!! Great choice of local and special beets to choose from Tom the barman was knowledgeable of the products and great customer service!! Toilets are very small (ladies) so definitely not for wheelchair accessibility. Don't know if any others available onsite Comfortable seating and great atmosphere, definitely worth a visit
