The best Chinese meal I’ve had in ages, we got the set meal for two and it was all gorgeous, two portions of chicken and sweetcorn soup, prawn toasts, spring rolls, chicken wings and prawn crackers and there is a choice of any two mains with rice or chips, all that for £26 ! Amazing value and all cooked perfectly and piping hot. We had Fish and chips last week and that was also perfect, the fish was huge and proper chippy chips. The one negative is the gravy, it’s not a traditional chippy gravy and we didn’t like it, but everything else is Lush 😀

The nicest chippy ever. I have the fish generally and it’s fried to perfection. Beautifully presented and always still very hot when you get home. 10/10

As far as we are concerned this is the best Chippy in Heywood and possibly the best in Rochdale. The food is always fresh and cooked perfectly, the girls on the counter are very friendly. We went for our tea on a very hot night 16th June 2023 and even though the girl serving was so hot she still had a nice word and a lovely smile. Would highly recommend to anyone.

Had a large fish and chips it was the best fish and chips I have had in years .being in the food business myself for years I can really recommend this place.

Have been coming to THE BEST chippy in town for quite a while now and it ALWAYS maintains a very high standard. Everything is freshly cooked so expect a litlle wait during a busy period.......don't be put off by the size of the shop. The staff are GREAT, efficient and friendly !!!!!

Get a takeaway most Fridays when in work and got to say its the best Fish and Chips I have had in a long while. It is always freshly cooked and tastes delicious. The staff are always brilliant. The cod goujons are excellent value and the mince and onion and cheese and onion home made pie is brilliant

This is THE best chippy in Heywood, possibly even the world! I travel a 5 mile round trip its that good. My favorites are the freshly made home made cheese and onion or mince and onion pies which are superb, the fish is also excellent with nice crispy batter, and mushy peas that taste like they used to do. The shop is bright, fresh and clean, and nice little touches like the fish served separately in a cardboard container which keeps it hot and crispy. I wished they had a sit-in part cos I would be there every day. Can't believe two people gave it a bum review - probably the owners of the other chippy down the road ha ha. Denis Robinson

The best chippy around. Been coming here for a long time now and just won’t go elsewhere. Fresh fish, perfect chips and the cheese pie is out of this world. Can’t decide? Get both like I did haha. Loving the new packaging too - biodegradable!

Our business use this chippy every Friday, the fish are the best about bar none, always cooked fresh are simply delicious, clean place and friendly staff, i'm gutted when they close for a holiday, ignore the one reviewer who bad mouthed the fish it's complete nonsense

This little chippy is the best around and the fish is not over battered either !!!It does get really busy and you fish will be cooked for you while you wait .......absolutely great.Would definitely recommed.......but don't tell everyone !!!!!!

King st has become my weekly chippy of choice.The owners really seem to care about the quality of the food on offer & the fish is perfect.As for "irish" curry sauce whats all that about!!Still very tasty though.

Doesn't matter where I go I can't find a better chippy than king street chippy. Fresh fish and chips made to order (so please don't complain there may be a wait) with a light fluffy batter on the fish! You actually get a huge amount of fish not like most chippys that are mostly batter! Making me hungry just writing this review haha.

Very clean no frills old type chippy Fish cooked to order really fresh and tasty Pies Pudding and Sausage served with Great Chips with Peas Gravy and Curry if you are really lucky they may have Black peas on the menu very friendly and once again very clean

I have visited most of the chippies in Monkeytown, and this is certainly the best. The fish and chips I had were freshly cooked and tasted terrific. Although I called in on the dot of closing time they were happy to put fresh ingredients into the fryers for me. Can't wait to try their Irish curry sauce!

A Friend had recommended this chippy, it's local to me but in my town so I thought I would give it a try, I am glad I did, friendly people and great food, I went once close to closing and wasn't made to feel unwelcome, the owner was only to willing to make sure I got what I needed, I hope they continue to thrive and survive!

Freshly cooked food,piping hot,friendly staff and good quality. Portions are larger than most other chip shops and prices aren't over the top.

A good proper "English" Chippy that doesn't stray too far from the basics of Fish, Chips and Pies etc. Service is always with a smile (unlike one of its local competitors) but there is no dining room. If you want to pick up good staple F&C give it a try.

A proper 'when I were a kid' chippy, off down a side street so you have to find it. Well worth a visit

The Pies and puddings are always fresh The fish is done to order so also freshChips are tasty Gravy Curry and Peas very tasty also

King street chippy is very nice, the cheese and onion pies are by far my favourite, I love them! also I really like the chips and curry, the curry is lovely, and so is the peas, mostly everything is nice in there, would say all of it but I haven't tried everything yet! :)

Go for the small Fish and Chips, the normal is far too much. On street parking is easy. If you only have time for one meal in Heywood this would be the one, however it is a bit out of the town centre - from the post office walk out of town along Hind Hill Street until you get to king street on your left and walk up about 400m to the chippy

We came across this by accident recently, but are so pleased we did. The fish is enormous, extremely fresh and well cooked. Chips are also amazing, just how we like them.Not tried the rag pudding yet but will be doing soon. This has become a weekly treat for us now - in fact we will be there tonight!

since reopening under new management this place is excellent. the fish and rag puddings are definitely worth trying. the staff are cheerful and friendly ..............highly recommended

King Street Chippy has been a feature of Heywood life since Noah used to call in on his ark for a bag of scraps and some pea juice...in recent years however it had gained a poor reputation.This has all changed now, the new owners know exactly what their customers want, fresh fish, good quality potatoes, fine take away food prepared to the individual customers taste.The quality of the new King St Chippy is now second to none as is evidenced by the queue that stretches out of the door and onto King Street.I can't recommend this chippy strongly enough, it's just fantastic.

This was always a decent chippy but since it has reopened under new ownership the fish is brill and the mushy peas are to die for best chippy in heywood by far

Best fish in heywood loved it will be coming back again and again plus great service plus never had irish curry before which many chippy don't do this and they let me try it before I bought it and it's really nice be coming back for that to :-) x
