Myself and my partner visited here on a Friday afternoon. It has great parking and the building is interesting and has beautiful features inside (including a little museum with the very interesting history of the place) The dining no rooms are lovely, clean and quirky.The service (run by volunteers) as outstanding.Their menu is not extensive, but what they do have is something to cater for everyone including dietary requirements and if booked in advance a very good value afternoon tea. Many of their dishes are home made, as are all their cakes.We had a soup, sandwich, coffee and cake each and it came to less than £17 which I thought was excellent value.I would highly recommend here and will definitely go back.

Nice little cafe for a chill with coffee and cake

This has to be one of those hidden gems that you stumble across by accident or by asking "Do you know of anywhere nice for a traditional afternoon tea?" Well that's how we found out about this place. Only open Thursday's and Friday's at the moment, but open in the mornings for a sumptuous breakfast, then from lunch until 3.30pm serving a delightful couple of choices of a traditional afternoon tea, priced at £8 for the basic or £12 for the deluxe 😋 😋. Also there are choices of toasted sandwiches, quiches all served with salad etc. There is a soup of the day and the usual, tea, coffee and cold soft drinks available. If you order something off the menu other than the afternoon tea, that by the way requires ordering 24 hours in advance. If still peckish there are various dessert choices. We were visiting from Madrid and in all honesty next time we come back we will call in and tuck into one of the lovely traditional English breakfasts. Well what can I say about the staff? They are so so happy, friendly and cant do enough for you.👍👍👍👍👍

Went to a funeral afternoon tea a short time ago and could not fault the food. All finger sandwiches were extremely fresh as were the cakes. Afterwards they supplied us with small bags to take some food home.

They have started serving Breakfasts now and I was delighted to indulge in a relaxed Scrambled Egg, with some cheese, on brown toast as part of their new Menu. Take a break and pop in. You will be made very welcome.

Regresamos a este café, ya que habían cerrado la última vez que intentó visitar y no nos decepcionó. Ubicado en un hermoso edificio dirigido por el más bonito voluntarios que merece una visita y es una pena que no abrir más a menudo. El menú es bueno y llena con comida, lo que está muy bien presentado. Es también muy razonable y sin duda volveremos en el futuro próximo.

Lovely hidden treasure, really nice and friendly people, excellent food.

Yo estaba en la zona de trabajo y tenía tiempo de sobra, así que nos dirigimos al lugar más cercano que pude encontrar para una taza de café. Me alegro mucho de que acabé aquí. Me sentaba afuera, en la mesa de picnic y tenía un trozo de tarta de naranja riquísimo verdaderamente chocolate. Los precios eran sin duda relación calidad-precio dada la calidad y el personal era alegre y servicial.

It's a pity this place only opens two days. Lovely fresh food and cakes. Especially the potato pie. The staff are friendly and the old building is very grand.

Excellent food. Good service. Friendly staff. Value for money. Will go back again and again. I would highly recommend this coffee house. We travelled 100 miles for the visit and it did not disappoint.

Run by volunteers who are very pleasant. Set in an 1865 mansion house which adds to the venues character. Prices are very reasonable for their homemade fayre and was nicely presented. We hadn't any issues with the quality either. I'm happy to recommend.

Hemos visitado caballos Carrs Coffee House en varias ocasiones y siempre nos lo pasamos de maravilla ... el personal y amable y acogedor, y la comida es deliciosa! Se sirven comidas y bebidas en hermosas habitaciones con grandes ventanas con vista a los jardines y en invierno tenían fuegos taberna clandestina en ambas habitaciones!! No te decepcionará ... incluso cocinar su propia jamón para los sándwiches y ensaladas : D .. Comida deliciosa ... Ojalá que estaban abiertas más a menudo : D Gracias caballos Carrs Coffee Shop : D

It was a great Atmosphere with a very interesting history and lovely food and service! Definitely recommend to anyone looking for somewhere cheap and cheerful to eat that is in a lovely place

Great quality Coffee House with two beautiful rooms and a very grand entrance. Snook away off the busy Shawclough Road, it's easy to venture down the grand old drive and slip into a whole other world of pretty grounds, and a well preserved historical building. A fine latte and always a superb choice of scrummy cakes. The lunches are good too; be sure to take a glance at the particularly tasty specials. I particularly enjoyed a Christmas lunch there with an open fire and festive music from a live piano set. Staff are pleasant and helpful, food is prepared fresh, a delightful atmosphereDefinitely worth a visit.

great place for a coffee. I pop in here every fortnight or so. sampled the food here too on the last visit and was pleasantly surprised. nice toasties,soups and salads and cake with good specials every now and again,(homemade pie etc)immaculately kept, beautiful ornate building. very reasonable (8 pounds for two lunches)good service with a smile.gluten free available only open 10-4 on a Thursday and Friday though

Lovely wedding reception venue. Beautiful building, and spacious. Great décor, specially like the silly old photos in one of the rooms.

Visited for funeral reception but was impressed with the friendliness of the staff and the quality of the food. It is fairly local for me so will be returning for coffee.

The staff are friendly and welcoming. Although not an extensive menu everything is tasty and fresh; homemade soup, choice of breads, home-baked cakes (very tempting), speciality teas and good coffee. Dietary requirements are also taken into consideration. Very reasonably priced and all in a good cause.
