I have not been here since the 90's as a meet and greet pub,i was out with three of my friends on Saturday after playing tenpin bowling in the area,we always eat have a few beers etc after bowling we do this once a month,and try other places to eat and drink.Looked on google lets give it a try we said,made the call booked a table,arrived to friendly staff who took us to our table,made comfortable drinks etc food ordered.Short time later starters arrived and followed by the mains.I have to honestly say the presentation of all the food and taste was mind blowing we all agreed on this,seriously the black pudding starter and fillet steak main,try it.Moving on to drinks fantastic choices tasty too,oh and the cocktails delish also.We will be going back here in the future.100% tops to the staff.Great place.Thanks.

Ive recently started having a few pints at the Grapes and have found the staff nothing but very warm and friendly and the pub itself has a really nice atmosphere, wish id have tried this pub years ago!! I dont normally do reviews but read the nonsense review below so felt obliged. I cant comment on the food as ive not tried it yet but it always smells amazing. The garden is a nice place to be and most important of all, of course, the beer is great!!

We arrived on a Wednesday lunch time. It wasn’t busy. There was only one reserved sign on a table and to be honest I think this as for much later on. We asked for a menu the waitress said she would need to check. We thought this was strange but brushed it off. When the waitress came to take our order we asked if we could get a couple of starters each and we were told no and that the kitchen can’t cope with this. I have read that this has been an issue for quite a few people and that the response to these reviews and the response we got on the day was the kitchen wouldn’t be able to accommodate this but I don’t believe this to be true. We were asking for four starters between the two of us. If you had a table of four and they all ordered starters you would be able to accommodate this or even if you had a table of 12 who all ordered starters you’d be able to do it, so it’s not true that it can’t be done. I’ve never been to pub/restaurant and had this said…..EVER. If light bites is what the people want maybe you could look at how to accommodated this in the future.

We went in at lunch time on a Wednesday. It wasn’t busy. We asked for a menu and the waitress instead of saying “yeah no problem” she said “I’ll have to check just wait.” She returned to say that was fine. We thought this was strange but brushed it off. When she came to take our order we asked if we could order a selection of starters as that’s what we fancied we only wanted 4 between the two of us. The waitress again said hold on. She then returned to say no we can’t do that. Confused we asked her why she said it would be too much for the kitchen. We then said we would eat else where. What if they had four people who came in and ordered four starters? What a ridiculous excuse. It’s so sad to see what is a lovely pub be brought down by behaviour like this. There’s also a sign near the bar that says be nice or leave…….its just so abrupt and unnecessary. Please can the management team take a look at themselves and think more about customer service. Before arriving we had been told some horror stories about the lady who runs the pub but we choose to ignore this and give it a try. What a shame we absolutely will not be going back.

Stunning place to Dine & Chill out

Lovely meal. Friendly service. We only had a main meal each and really enjoyed it. We will definitely be going back. We were served by a lovely young man called Alex he had an enthusiastic attitude and it was definitely service with a smile 😁

Had an excellent meal here, great staff, lovely food, well-kept real ales, and the kids' options were very good, we'll be coming back!

Four of us went for Sunday roast. The beef and pork were delicious. The staff could not have been more friendly and helpful. At 12:30pm it was quiet but tables reserved from 2pm ish.

Had a 18th birthday party with 15 guests, the staff were all really attentive and friendly, nothing was any bother, food was lovely, good gluten free choice as well, everything had a lovely afternoon, not rushed out to free the tables, thank you to all the staff!

Robinson but now has beer I can enjoy beavertown and veltins I will be back

Cracking pub. Bar staff amazing. Friendly and very attentive. Couple of real ales and four draft lagers. Pub food but top end. The arancini starter was superb. Rag pudding gorgeous, no gristle. Everyone at our retirement do enjoyed their food. Thanks guys, you are all the best.

Great Bistro style food. Very polite and friendly staff. Nicely decorated with a decent size outdoor seated area, big enough for small kids to play in. Great in warmer weather, no outdoor heating so can get cold I'm the evening, or during cooler seasons.

I have been coming here since it re opened and we are so lucky to have this little gem on our doorstep. The food is absolutely delicious cooked by the owner. So always consistent. So much pride is put into this lovely food. The cheese and onion pie is the best you will ever eat! I challenge anybody to that. The atmosphere is always lovely. The popularity speaks for itself. The staff are so kind and I’m sure even though tired at times due to how hard they work, they always have time for you. Big shout to Nicola and Alex that really do make this place. Dog friendly and extremely welcoming to K9 customers. My dogs were always made welcome and Nicola always made a fuss of Vince :-) Not your ordinary run of the mill chain pub, this is something special with some high quality food and a vibrant atmosphere. Thank you for working so hard to provide a special local pub for us you really are the heart of Bamford

Simply superb service and food !

We went to the grapes for Mother’s Day Sunday dinner, as soon as we walked through the door the staff were absolutely lovely, nothing too much trouble. The food was amazing and if you can’t manage it all they kindly box it up for you, it’s been a long time since we have had such a good experience from start to finish in a pub, well done to all the staff.

Went with 2 friends for Sunday lunch. We hadn’t booked but were lucky enough to be accommodated. 3 roast beef dinners were served in super quick time - we decided to forgo starters in favour of desserts. The yorky puds were massive, the mash smooth, the roasties perfect, the cabbage and carrot fresh and tasty. The serving of beef was plenty for me and my friends. We all cleared our plates, which is the best indicator of a good meal ! We had lemon tart, brownie and cheesecake for dessert - all scrumptious.

First time in this pub & I was pleasantly surprised great service & food I had cheese & onion pie & chunky chips with beans. I was hungry & I polished it off it was hot just the way I liked it. As some places serve food warmish.

Set in a lovely ' cosy living room' type atmosphere and without doubt the best the best Sunday lunch I have ever had! The staff are also extremely friendly and helpful. I will be visiting again !

Experience was spoiled as, despite asking for the burger to be cooked "well done" it was still moo-ing on the plate when it arrived so we had to send it back and then it was like shoe leather.

Went for lunch today and was greeted by your bartender (didn't ask his name) He gave amazing customer service highly recommended 5star

We came across this very nice pub. They found us a time to eat in their very busy schedule on a Sunday. Excellent service and food. When we go again we will book first. We would recommend to all our friends

Nice little pub with good food and service

Excellent food, really enjoyed Some of the best service I’ve ever had, all by young adults/teenagers and a credit to the themselves and the pub Only thing I could possibly say as a downside, the lighting is a little too bright and we were seated at a table in the middle of the room……so being cosy was a little difficult. Later on in the evening, when the pub has quietened down a little , we were able to move onto one of the tables in the corner which was better

You need to book and it only does food Weds - Sunday. What we like is lovely service, Robinson’s beer and a menu that has something other than the normal run of the mill pub fayre. Consider De Caf coffee?

Excellent place, food is great, service excellent,lovely outdoor space. The only downside was a yapping dog inside the place, when you have to stop talking because of this.

Four for lunch on Friday and each of us tremendously impressed with both the food and the service, Main courses beautifully presented and all equally delicious, the chicken breast in particular, a cut above standard “pub grub” but not over priced, Why can’t Norden have something similar!!

Fine selection on food, wine menu, and real ale. We had rag pudding 🍮 😋 well worth a visit.

Went here for a family birthday, service was shocking. Think we waited 40 mins before getting our food order taken (after multiple times trying to get staff attention) will say that there was one guy on table service for the restaurant so we understood he might have been under pressure. Food was awful, portion size was shocking, considering you’re paying £15 for a burger, could’ve made a better one at home sadly, we had the seabass & it was ok, although it said it came with roasted potatoes and they were half of a half of a potato 😂 chicken was also dry! All in all a pretty poor experience unfortunately and a hefty bill at the end. Think it’s more focused on being a local pub than a restaurant. Will say staff were friendly when spoken too & were great behind the bar, also very nice inside

Went here withy so and daughter ilaw, on a recent visit, I couldn't believe the transformation, from the pub that it was, the service was excellent, the waiter soooooo pleasant and friendly, ad professional, the food was delicious, and atmosphere buzzing, would definitely recommend you try here.

We have been here twice and had a really good experience both times. The service is brilliant and the food is amazing. The Sunday lunch (lamb and beef) are really tasty and the meat is cooked beautifully - the beef to order. Really recommend a visit

We were warned by friends about the service and food but thought we’d see for ourselves. We wish we had listened! The food was bland and took way too long to come out of the kitchen. The staff were ok on our visit but definitely didn’t add to our experience, in fact most seemed bored as there were way too many staff on for the two tables seated. We also experienced people at the door being turned away even though most tables were free for at least an hour after. Wouldn’t go back anytime soon!

Our first visit and won’t be our last. Quite a limited menu but the food was fantastic. All the staff were friendly and attentive. The quality is equal to a high end restaurant. My wife had the vegetarian carrot starter and I had black pudding. For mains we had the sirloin steak and sea bass. Then lemon tart for dessert. With a bottle of red wine, it was £80. We booked in advance and it was busy. Definitely a place to try.

Just been after a friend recommended, and gotta say wasn’t disappointed, the food was excellent and the staff were very friendly and polite. Would highly recommend.

A large party of my family gathered for meal to celebrate my Mums 90th birthday. So much choice and a desert menu to die for. The staff were brilliant and the whole pub has a welcoming and friendly vibe. The food is amazing. My new favourite eatery.

Great pub , very nice food we’ve been going since it was reinvented. Just a shame you can’t have a starter followed by another starter as your main ( equals a main meal in cost ) people of a certain vintage can’t eat as much We ate there recently and because the starters are so nice had them and ended up too full up.

Six of us had dinner at The Grapes last Sunday, March 12. The menu offers a fantastic choice and the food was amazing. Beautifully presented dishes served by the friendly staff. This place will be buzzing in the summer especially given that there is also a lovely outside patio. Congratulations to the chef and kitchen staff! Thank you.

Wow!!! Just been for the first time, and the food was incredible! It blew us away! Cid loin gorgeous, Haddock cooked to perfection, tartre sauce, amazing! All sauces awesome, presentation immaculate, deserts to die for with ANY combination of creams, ice creams or custard. Service was delightful, especially Alex. He could be on TV what a character. Thank you! 💓

Nice pub with good quality beer

We popped in for a quick bite to eat after being really eager to try the food. My husband has recently had surgery so can only eat small amounts. He wanted to have a starter whilst I had my main. We were told you are not allowed to order a starter without ordering a main! Never in my life have I been to a restaurant where you are not allowed a starter. We were told its because they only have a small cooking space which makes no sense at all to me anyway. We even offered to buy a couple of starters so it would be the same value as a main meal and were told no due to the starter and main meal rule. We didn't eat in the end as we thought this was ridiculous. Luckily I didn't bring my grandma who often only has a soup as she would have also been refused a meal! The drinks were nice and its a lovely pub so this is a real shame as we eat out locally often (and gave come for drinks many times) and we were hoping this would be somewhere we could add to our list but we will not be returning!

Nice busy atmosphere, waiter lovely, drinks service brill, good value for money, however, food was a little disappointing for me (there were six of us) one meal had to be returned and didn’t come back as a clean fresh plate of food, it was just warmed up and swirled around the plate, the other meals were lovely. Also the toilets really do need a good clean. I would return again because overall it was ok, and just a few tweaks needed

We eat out every weekend, we try to stay local. Todays lunch was the best food I’ve had in the area. Not the cheapest but worth every penny. Will be back very soon for more

Sadly we won’t be going back. A thick black rubber band in the Lamb Tagine. An apology and a replacement meal, which my husband didn’t really enjoy. That was it. No recompense. The manager didn’t even come to speak to us. Also, no fish, on a menu that has several fish dishes,

Great food and staff are very friendly

No food served not even a sandwich. Added to that is attitude when telling us no food. One word is RUDE.

Recommended to us so was really looking forward to trying it on a sunny day. Totally uderwhelmed with lunch, my partner ordered the prawn salad and I the halloumi salad.. The pleasant waiter returned after about 5 minutes to tell us there were no prawns so my partner decided to have the same as me. 'Leaf or loaf' meant just that halloumi with leaves, a mint dip and very little of anything else. On returning home my partner spent the remainder of this sunny afternoon on the loo and in bed, needless to say we won't be returning.
