We visit this restaurant several times a year, to sample each menu. The food, service and ambiance are simply outstanding and our visit last night for the Indian themed menu was possibly our best yet. This is a talented young chef at the top of his game with a great team around him. The expansion plans to take over the whole building are very exciting. Thanks George and the Tasting Club team - we will be back!

Very poor customer service. Tried to book a table last night for April. I had selected the date and time, and was entering my details, pressed next and recieved an error message. I messaged the number provided to ask whether the booking had gone through and I received a very short and sharp response saying it hadn’t. I messaged back to ask if there was anything that could be done, the message was read but they didn’t even have the courtesy to reply to me - very poor customer service. I feel you can’t charge those prices without providing the whole package which includes excellent customer service, of which that was not. You could have suggested to join the stand by list or book another evening, it really wasn’t a difficult response to compose.

We have been waiting to come here for a good while and so were very pleased to try the festive menu. Service is very friendly and slick; the decor is simple and elegant and, most importantly, every course is delicate, delicious and beautifully presented. You get what you pay for. Our only criticisms are that all of the savoury courses were served warm to tepid. And, it was extremely (and I do mean extremely) noisy in there. I realise that this is hard to control, but it was so loud that we could barely hear each other speak and we were practically shouting across the table. So, it is worth bearing in mind that it is certainly not the place for a quiet and intimate meal. That said, definitely worth a try.

Yet another fabulous evening with some truly magical cooking. The fish course was probably the best I’ve ever eaten, delicate slightly smoky fish, with pops of crunch, slight acidity, creamy and light - so fabulous it gave me goosebumps. The beef dish was served with delicate and sweet beetroot but the absolute star was a goat’s cheese sauce which was unexpected but totally divine - who knew that beef and goats cheese would work so perfectly. The meal was presented with skill and flair by the wonderful staff who are ultra attentive and so friendly - this is a not to be missed menu

I visited with a group of 16 last night for a friends 50th birthday. The only negative I can find with our experience is that it’s made me question every five star review I’ve left previously, I need an extra star! Each dish was impeccable crafted. The recreation of familiar dishes into something beautifully creative and full of flavour. The staff were welcoming, friendly and attentive and there was a great buzz in the restaurant, without a hint of pretentiousness. All in all a perfect evening, would highly recommend.

This was without doubt one of the best places I have ever eaten!! Uncluttered, modern surroundings and very helpful and interested staff. Each course of the ten course tasting menu was presented fantastically - perfect in the most minute detail. There were exactly the same number of stripes on the bees on one of the puddings! The food was unbelievable. Wonderful, and certainly as good as much, much more expensive places. JUST GO!!!!!!!!

Yet again a sublime menu with the most delicious and inventive cooking you’ll get anywhere in the UK. Each course brings a taste explosion, each ingredient bringing a different element to an overall flavour profile that just delights the palate. It’s impossible to say which course was the favourite they’re all just stunning. Can’t wait to return

Having eaten tasting menus all over the UK, including Michelin starred places, I can honestly say that the Tasting Club is up there with the very best. Every dish was packed full with flavour and imagination. My personal favourites from this current menu were the coronation chicken doughnut and the tastes like a quiche. Lovely informal atmosphere and very good staff, all knowledgeable about the dishes and serving was timed to perfection, starting at 7 and finishing at 9:30. We will definitely be back to try out the next menu. So lucky to have such an amazing chef local to us!

Yet another sublime menu at the Tasting Club. Dish after Dish packed with flavour and texture. This place never ceases to amaze with delightful food. Highlights are hard to pick as everything is good but if pushed I’d say the heritage tomato, goats cheese and N’duja tart was amazing as was the “ tastes like a quiche “ just yummy. The lamb was stunning and the pepper sauce should be sold in buckets it’s devine. On the desert front the honey and ginger pudding was just heavenly. Can’t wait to come back

Visited for the tasting menu in May. Overall a good experience and we will return one day. Parking isn’t ample so I would recommend arriving with enough time to find a spot in case the car park is full. The staff were very welcoming when we arrived and our drinks arrived quickly. The overall service from all the staff was excellent. The restaurant is small and cosy, it does get quite loud in there due to the loft acoustics. The setting is lovely but the chairs could be comfier because you are sat for 2.5 hours and our bums were starting to go a bit numb. The food was delicious, every course came with the right gap, was presented well and was really tasty! They were also very accommodating with the food as I asked for no chilli on mine (make sure to ask in advance). I am giving 4/5 overall because I have experienced other tasting menus in the local area for the same price, which I just think bring a touch more luxury in terms of the surroundings, seating etc. But I will definitely come again for another menu and recommend people give it a go!

We had a lovely evening at the restaurant. The service and welcome from the front of house team is great and the food is excellent - a really fab menu and delicious. Really good value and a really good experience.

WOW…. Amazing from the second you arrive. Fabulous friendly attentive front of house offering the warmest of welcomes. Simply sit back and let the magic happen. You’re not going out just for dinner… You are getting an inventive unique dining experience. There is a wow factor to every plate put before you. Is it value for money??? Absolutely. You’d have to pay two, three times as much for this quality of menu in a swanky London restaurant. This was our first visit, without a doubt we be returning (we live 80 miles away). This is a dining event… Your table is yours for the evening. You’re not getting rushed out so they can get more diners in.

I came here a couple of weeks ago with my daughter and her boyfriend as a very special treat just after Mother’s Day. It’s the first time I’ve tried a tasing menu and it most certainly didn’t disappoint. It not a stuffy restaurant, we were made to feel very relaxed and the staff were very attentive. The food was delicious and superbly presented, each course had a unique flavour and I have to say the fish dish was my favourite but it was hard to choose because they were all excellent. We left the restaurant feeling adequately fed but without feeling stuffed. We had a fabulous evening out and would recommend to anyone who likes gourmet food but in a relaxing atmosphere.

Saturday lunch with partner on a long weekend in Bakewell. Lovage food is pretty much what you'd expect of a Michelin starred place. At lunchtime it's really a "tasting menu" only in name, since the five courses include some hefty nibbles and a tastefully small soup course. But it's all outstandingly good - notably for me the beetroot course. And the non-brownie brownie at the end, which I wasn't really looking forward to, was gorgeous. Interesting and enjoyable wine flight as well, served by a knowledgeable and friendly sommelier. We would have preferred to eat in the evening but couldn't get in so went for lunch instead. We've never been so pleased to have a noisy table of 10 in the same dining room. Without them it would have been just the two of us in a good-sized room and - much as I adore my partner - a near-zero atmosphere experience. Must be lovely when full (also like my partner - boom, boom).

Lovely independent bakery. We had 2 sandwiches to take away. They were very good. Ciabatta and top quality fillings for a very reasonable price. The sausage roll was amazing. Friendly service. Will definitely return when in the area again.
