Lovely pie and mash shop owned and served by great guy Tom who knows the area well and can give you a little history of the neighbouring streets! The main item is the minced beef pie but he also has a vegetarian pie for those not into minced beef. Tom will also recommend that you eat his pies and mash with a generous dashing of vinegar (he makes a vinegar spiced with chilli if you want some spice in your pie) and salt and pepper. We opted to go without the salt which suited our palate a tad more. Highly recommend if you like some pie and mash. Will be back!

This is the best pie and mash in London. Served by a simply wonderful chap who owns this eatery. If you need pie and mash in your life, and who doesn't? This is the place to go. You can get it to take away or sit in.

Finally got a chance to try this shop and I wasn’t disappointed! Two pie, two mash and liquor for only £8.50 and it tasted amazing. I’ll be back soon!

Excellent pie and mash that caters for vegetarians (maybe vegan) and well worth the short wait for the pies to cook. The guy running the place don’t mess about! He clearly knows his cliental and has a long line or regulars waiting to be served - clearly a great place to eat!

Visited here for the first time today for takeaway Pie and Mash. I must admit I was really impressed with it. I live about a 10 minute walk from the shop and i must say by the time I got home it was still hot enough to eat straight away. I will definitely be going back for more. Great value for money too.

I regularly go to this restaurant. Probably once a week I treat myself to Double pie and mash. Plus gravy. Also, a nice tea. The food is wonderful the best pie and mash I have had in London. Tommy the chap who is the owner and runs it is a very charming fellow. Very friendly. Also recommended is the great Strawberry pie and ice cream for afters. Very filling. I recommend it. He also does Apple pie, Rhubarb pie and Apple pie. Try this place out if you fancy some proper English grub or if you just fancy a change.

Knowing that I was visiting Walthamstow today on business and as I fancied a spot of pie and mash I googled Pie and Mash shops in the area last night where I found Barneys. Easy to park in the side road and food excellent. Obviously a young business, very friendly owner and the pie and mash was great. 100% would recommend it.

Went to this pie and mash shop. Found the food was delicious Liquor was a bit watery. Found the service very good very clean and spotless. Would have been 5 stars but for the Liquor.

First visit to this shop today, absolutely top drawer, pies were gorgeous ( had 5 of em !!) Spotlessly clean and owner Tom was really friendly and passionate about his business. Great to see a new pie / mash shop opening rather than closing. Will defo be back. Good luck Tom

Took a trip to Barneys last week as I had heard good things about the place and had a hankering for a good Pie & Mash, and Barneys did not disappoint, pies had nice pastry, good amount of tasty filling, mash was nice and tasty, the liquor was the best I’ve tasted in years, slathering of vinegar and that was me in my element, about 60 seconds later after scoffing the lot, craving satisfied.Highly recommend you try it.

I've been visiting as many pie and mash shops as I can recently realising that we've lost so many in the last few years. I've been to Manze's, Cooke's, all over London, Kent and Essex and this gem of a place stands out. Support English heritage and visit our pie and mash shops. Let's preserve our cultural identity!

It was nice to see they cater for vegetarians as sometimes difficult to find places where I can eat and enjoy a pie and mash without the meaty pie! Really nice fresh food, will be going back there.

I have been coming here since it opened and the food is exelent.the service is exelent and pies cooked lovely.

Having not come across a pie and mash restaurant/ cafe in london in years (I think there is only 30) I drove by this one and stopped in. Went for home made veggie pie which came with the mash and liquor. No frills just honest heart warming pie and mash, made in house at a very reasonable price. Recommended if you want to step back in time to the good old days of British workman’s cuisine! You’ll come out with a full stomach and some change in your pocket.Enjoy

Without a doubt the best pie and mash in the area. I have ordered over the 'phone/just eat several times for home delivery. Cannot fault the food or the service.

First time trying out this shop which hasn't been open for long and it completely surprised me. The pies were about right, the mash was scraped on and the liquor was tasty. Tommy the guvnor was no Barney rubble..... It is a little off the beaten track but well worth going.

A gem, with welcoming atmosphere and charming staff. Excellent mash and home made pies and good rhubarb pie and custard at reasonable prices. Clean loos, recommended if you are in the area.

Pie and mash has always been my main choice of food and after all the pie and mash shops I have visited over the years, this is honestly my favourite. Barneys is now my top choice for Pie and Mash all the time. Amazing, authentic food, brilliant staff and a very clean and homely feel, if eating in. Couldnt recommend enough!

Visited barney's pie and mash today, been to many pie and mash shops in London and was recommended by a friend to try Barney's pie and mash in Walthamstow, by far the best pie and mash I've tasted in years, pies are cooked perfect, the mash was very creamy and liquor was how it should be, plenty of parsley. Staff were very friendly, restaurant very clean. If your in Walthamstow I would highly recommend you visit Barney's.

Food was excellent. We loved the homemade chilli vinegar (the big boy) Definately a regular weeekend visit. Robyns in E4 are no competition. Great service, tasty food. Thanks Tommy, ypu are a true gent. Coming back for my loyalty card. Hahaha!!

Some of the best pies in London, the bottoms are cooked just right, no doughy bits. Fresh home made liquor, decent mash, easily an 8/10 minimum.

This is a new pie and mash shop and one of the very best I have been to. All the staff very friendly pies are handmade on site and by far the tastiest I have had. All I all a great place

When we hear that our working class conditions are dying out, what a joy to see a new Pie and Mash Shop opening in Higham Hill Walthamstow.Great value, delicious tradition London grub, served with a smile in clean comfortable surroundings.This was our second visit. Generous portions served up with proper 'liquor'.We will be back!

Mash was nice and smooth. You can actually taste the parsley in the liquor. Coursely cut which added more flavour. The pies taste very meaty with plenty of filling. The crust was crisp but easy to cut, even with a spoon. But the extra touch was the chilli vinegar. They had different strengths for those that like that extra zing. The price was very very cheap compared to other Pie & Mash shops. My meal cost me just £4.50!And I was full after eating a single pie, single mash and liquor. I felt that to be great value. They also do ‘Take away’ and accept payment by card. The restaurant was very clean and the staff were wearing appropriate head coverings, aprons and gloves. I haven’t been to a better Pie & Mash Shop than Barney’s. I highly recommend it.

I visited Barneys today, This place is outstanding. The pies are made on site and full of tasty meat. The mash and liquor was delicious. I took my Nan with me who was very impressed with this place and she has eaten in most pie and mash shops. She said this beats all the others " Hands down", vey tradional. An exellent service and friendly atmosphere.

A little gem, just sitting back from Billet Road. Blink and you would miss it, but make sure you don’t! Amazing authentic pie and mash, a lovely friendly atmosphere! Well worth a visit!
