Always a lovely time here- great feel and vibe. Staff are SO friendly and kind. Never feel rushed even when they are busy. Food always nice. A special shout out to Mete for great recommendations, being super lovely and looking after our four legged family member.

Have visited several pubs in UK but this one is hands down consistently been my favorite thus far. The drinks (guest beers from local Rivertown brewery are always fab) and shaken tales of the cock (cocktails) so fine, the menus of food (especially the brilliant Sunday Roast!) replete, reasonable and always fresh. (rotisserie chicken is the bomb!) Chefs kiss level lovely. The staff is on point & very friendly, (especially delightful for the solo nomad) and the myriad entertainment we’ve attended is quite remarkably well curated! Applause!! Community vibes with comfortable & at home atmosphere. Has been a respite away from the roam. Can highly recommend to any and all seeking a proper pub experience or a good vibe, day or night.

Mete, our service person was very attentive, friendly and helpful, especially with the nuances of ordering our hot chocolate! They accommodated us with ease. I'll be happy to come here again.

I have been to this pub before for Sunday lunch and it was really nice, but this time it was terrible. I had chicken which was very dry and the jacket potato was so very small. My husbands burger was burnt and dry also. Very disappointed indeed.

Roast dinner was awful, hunters chicken was big enough for a child 👦🏼

What a lovely pub. It’s massive! Great atmosphere. Lovely garden. I loved ladies toilet haha. Nice staff. Food menu - not tried, will return. Car park available. Family friendly, wheelchairs/buggies accessible.

We had a family meal of 23 on Saturday evening, everything came out as should have, no mistakes or problems at all. The staff were all so accommodating, friendly and helpful. Mete and Mikey were amazing servers and couldn't do enough for us! Thank you all for making my birthday meal so lovely :)

Had a family meal of 23 on Saturday, the staff were so helpful and accommodating and friendly, nothing was too much bother. Having pre ordered and from previous experience of similar places we expected a few hiccups with the food coming out correctly, on time etc but it was honestly flawless and the food was lovely. Mete and Mikey especially made my birthday meal very memorable and an absolute pleasure. Thank you :)

I attended the Royal Oak to celebrate our friends birthday, yesterday evening. Had a lovely time, had meals and drinks. Mete , who served us during the evening, couldn't have been more pleasant, cheerful, helpful and had a lovely sense of humour.

Came for Sunday lunch and had a lovely afternoon. Our server Mete, was friendly and fun. The food was lovely and we didn't have to wait long for it.

Great service as always Mete and Mickey was always on hand for anything we needed and the food was lovely for 10 people and some of us fussy all was good

Had a lovely meal tonight at The Royal Oak. The service was fantastic by Mete, who was friendly, very helpful and attentive. I have two young children and Mete was so bubbly with them. He also made sure their food was ordered first and for their meals to come as quickly as possible. Thank you very much for amazing service and creating a lovely atmostphere for me and my young family.

Came here on today (23/03/25). We booked ahead asking for a quiet table. We got a family with young children sat next to us who were fairly vocal, they moved after about 7 or 8 minutes when I think they realised they were on the noisy side and the room between tables wasn't wide enough for their children to continue running past us( hats off to them). We ordered 2 brisket and 1 chicken roast with side order of cauliflower cheese . Food was delicious and it was cooked fresh. It did take a while to get attention of staff to get more gravy as lack of this was only downside of our meals. For deserts we went for Apple pie and custard and a Sundae to share, these were both very good too . Meals were above average price but with more and more business rate and tax hikes I can understand that. The real ales were excellent in taste and quality. A downside was trying to get the food serving staff's attention but the bar staff were on the ball every time we went to the bar. Pub was getting more busy as the day progressed ( a good sign that people use it because of its cleanliness, quality and friendly atmosphere). Yes I would come here again and would recommend it as a good freshly cooked food venue

Unfortunately pretty typical pub bland food with no taste. The drinks are hard to mess up but here even the pina colada is watered down. There are much better pubs on Chingford.

Went here for a Sunday roast as a party of 7 and Mete did a wonderful job of serving us. He was super friendly and pleasant, and always ensured we had everything we wanted. The roast dinners were delicious, and there was a lovely atmosphere.

Pleasant surroundings in this Bar Restaurant with friendly staff. A traditional English Pub decor throughout. The location has its own car parking surrounding the building. The building is spacious but devided into separate areas, so if you want to hire a function room, then this is catered for. Very clean throughout. Updated this revue to say that today we had lunch with our friends, as we do each month. Many times we have been served by Cheyenne and as always she did a wonderful job with us and always with a pleasant smile on her face, well done.

A truly wonderful pub, with outstanding bar staff, and really good, down to earth food. I most certainly highly recommend it.

We have been using the restaurant on a regular basis, Beth runs a fine establishment, we visited on Saturday 25th Jan 25 our server was Mete who provided Friendly and efficient service. Roy & Joyce.

The service was very good and the price was reasonable. The food was okay and the atmosphere was nice.

Two of us had dinner there. I would highly recommend the rotisserie chicken, it's really tasty and moist. Our waiter was Mehet, who couldn't be more helpful, very friendly and funny, and nothing was too much trouble.

Went here last night for a business meeting...I had to leave a positive review ..the food was really good, I enjoyed my fish and chips..freshly cooked and tasty, and my colleagues scampi and chips tasty aswell. Tip: Maybe consider adding a local delivery service...if I lived local I'd be wrapped up at home ordering more of your food...and sampling more on the menu, especially school nights !! The young lady who served us was on point aswell. Thank you.

Lovely pub, it was looking as though they might be booked up, even on a Wednesday lunchtime but Mete found a table for us. We sat in a lovely little corner, the service was quick and the food was very good and Mete made sure that we were looked after! I would definitely recommend it for food or just a drink!
