Absolutely brilliant, breakfast is amazing, staff amazing and cost of everything is not to expensive 100% recommend this place

La tienda es increíble! El personal era muy amable. ¡El caramelo estaba fuera de este mundo! Probamos el sorbete de limón, la fresa, el caramelo salado y el caramelo pegajoso. Al final, fuimos con el caramelo salado, y fue increíble. El personal incluso explicó el proceso de cocción, y se puede ver cómo lo hacen allí mismo en la tienda. Es una experiencia maravillosa. Muy recomendable! 👌👍

As my friend had a big birthday (she won’t want me to divulge her age) 😜 I decided to take her somewhere new. I had seen Platform 29 on various social media sites & thought it looked very pleasant, so booked. Having never been to Ratcliffe in Trent, we set off on our adventure & we were not disappointed. The staff were all very lovely, nothing was too much trouble, even when my friend had an intolerance to mayo which I hadn’t told them about when I booked & they had asked about dietary requirements. 🤦🏼‍♀️ They made her some plain sandwiches which were equally delightful. The sandwiches were amazing, the bread was very fresh & light, the fillings plentiful. The scones were some of the best I’ve had anywhere & I’ve sampled a few in my time! Now I’m struggling to fine the words to describe the cakes (lemon & chocolate) as they were a triumph! The were so light & delicious, again some of the nicest I have had, with or without afternoon tea. I would just like to say a really big “thank you” to them for making the experience memorable in truly the best way!

This is a sad review as we learned that the new owners are closing the B and B in August for a indefinite period. We had a great time very welcoming and a great breakfast. Good luck Gerry and Roger.

Had a two night stay here over the weekend of the 6th Sept and what a wonderful little place it is. Emma and Menno were the most welcoming, friendly hosts and we immediately felt like this was a home from home, our room was very cosy and complete with home made Welsh cakes that went down a treat with a cup of tea after the long drive. The breakfasts were amazing and with the added twist of a Dutch breakfast option courtesy of Menno. The tea rooms are currently closed allowing for a lovely spacious breakfast room which is decorated with photos and keepsakes from all over the world. Emma gave us pointers on the local eateries and places to go and even filled up our water bottles for us when we went out on our hike. This is a fantastic base for walking with easy access to both the Rydd Ddu, and Snowdon Ranger paths up Snowdon as well as having several lakes and close by to the Nantile Ridge. Ty Mawr is currently up for sale which is a shame because we would definitely stay again. Thank you Emma and Menno for giving us a really lovely stay.

Lovely experience in this cafe - friendly staff, beautiful views and delicious cake. Well placed at the end of the coastal path too.

I cannot thank Stephen enough as he has gone above throughout this whole lockdown in helping me get presents to my parents. The Deli deserves recognition for all their hard work that they have provided .

Top breakfast as always and speedy service. Nice local cafe which I have gone to for years. The halloumi was cooked perfectly, thanks guys.

He estado en un par de cenas organizadas por un grupo local aquí y he estado muy contento. A veces, proporciona la mejor comida a precios normales. Por lo demás, sigue siendo una cena totalmente agradable y de calidad decente. Si te importan los pequeños detalles, probablemente este no sea el lugar para ti, ya que está claro que el personal todavía está aprendiendo. Me pareció un poco encantador. Y los bollos de chorizo eran increíbles.

Another fantastic meal (brunch) at Maria's. Great choice for breakfast. My friends and I all had something different and agreed that they were all delicious. Service was spot on and we felt our food was good quality and a good price. What a fab spot! Will be back.

Visited last week. Ordered our food and hot drinks. 10 mins into our meals we still had not received our drinks. Politely reminded them. Staff member manner and face quite unfriendly, eventually came but not as requested. Staff member Unapologetic and rude manner. Will not be visiting again. Food was good but Customer service by this front of house staff member was very poor.

Hidden gem! Well worth a visit - lovely food, very reasonably priced and all served with a smile by the friendly staff.
