No 29 sandwiches & Coffee in Rushcliffe

As my friend had a big birthday (she won’t want me to divulge her age) 😜 I decided to take her somewhere new. I had seen Platform 29 on various social media sites & thought it looked very pleasant, so booked. Having never been to Ratcliffe in Trent, we set off on our adventure & we were not disappointed. The staff were all very lovely, nothing was too much trouble, even when my friend had an intolerance to mayo which I hadn’t told them about when I booked & they had asked about dietary requirements. 🤦🏼‍♀️ They made her some plain sandwiches which were equally delightful. The sandwiches were amazing, the bread was very fresh & light, the fillings plentiful. The scones were some of the best I’ve had anywhere & I’ve sampled a few in my time! Now I’m struggling to fine the words to describe the cakes (lemon & chocolate) as they were a triumph! The were so light & delicious, again some of the nicest I have had, with or without afternoon tea. I would just like to say a really big “thank you” to them for making the experience memorable in truly the best way!

Lovely quaint little tea shop. The staff were very pleasant. The sandwiches and cakes and scones were all freshly made and delicious.

We were made most welcome when we arrived, our daughter had pre-booked an Afternoon Tea for us. The meal was lovely, the various flavours of sandwiches were prepared on different bread types. The cakes were light and tasty and the home made scones really light, complementing the cream and jam. All accompanied with a big pot of tea. They do a normal cafe menu too - I fully recommend it.

I visited this gem in Radcliffe on Trent when looking for lunch whilst on business in the area. The welcome was warm and friendly, I had asked for a table for one and the lady who greeted me offered a table upstairs, just the request not to sit on one set up for afternoon tea. A very reasonable request. I chose the classic ploughman's and a pot of tea. When the ploughman's arrived it looked delicious, it tasted delicious too! Consisting of two really good sized thick slices of tender ham, pork pie, a very good chunk of cheddar, mixed leaves, sliced peppers, onion, cucumber, pickled onions, pickled beetroot, coleslaw and a perfectly cooked and still warm boiled egg. Two slices of granary bread ( a choice of granary, white or brown) with butter and a pot of tea that served nearly three cups. Without exaggerating, it was one of the best ploughman's I've had the pleasure to eat. This café tucked up in an alley off the main road through Radcliffe is a real gem. There were tables of customers enjoying traditional afternoon tea, and they looked delicious too, a re-visit is definitely in order. Highly recommended and excellent from start to finish.

What a delightful, pleasant and good value tearoom. We went on a Groupon deal but would definitely go again as it is such a great place to eat with a decent selection of food and really good service. They really try to to ensure that you are left feeling satisfied with the value for money and the quality of the food. Well worth a visit!

Visited today for the first time for an afternoon tea via Groupon. Everything excellent. Beautiful selection of very fresh assorted sandwiches, scone, jam and clotted cream and two yummy cakes. So full we had the cakes placed in a box to take home. Pleasant staff. Would recommend! We shall be back.

Afternoon tea was delicious! I'd never been before, and was given a voucher as a birthday present. The staff were lovely and very welcoming, nothing was too much bother. Would definitely visit again and recommend to family and friends. Very cosy and warming environment! 😬

We had a very pleasant afternoon tea probably one of the best we have ever had. A selection of finger sandwiches, tuna and cucumber, egg mayo, cheese and pickle and cream cheese and tomato, followed by a scone, jam and cream each and 2 slices of cake each, a doggy bag was needed. The tea room is tastefully decorated, very welcoming and the waitress was very friendly. We used a Groupon voucher but I had forgotten the vital bit the bar code 😳however, the problem was quickly sorted. Thank you

Warm, friendly welcome. Really delicious afternoon tea, with fresh, well filled sandwiches, home made cakes & scones with jam & clotted cream. Everything served with china crockery & a smile Lovely place with plenty of spaced tables , well worth a visit at very reasonable prices. Highly recommended.

Came for afternoon tea we received as a gift. Lovely sandwiches, especially the bread. Liked how the cakes had fresh cream in - the lemon cake was my favourite - really moist and lemony. The scones were great too. Friendly staff and lovely little building. Would recommend.

My lovely friend treated me to a beautiful afternoon tea today at Platform 29. Wow, it was delicious, all homemade. A lovely treat. I would highly recommended this venue, you won’t be disappointed.

Platform 29 have been working hard to continue to serve the community during the lockdown.and offer afternoon tea as a take out on Saturdays. Having seen several posts on the local community Facebook page showing how delicious their food looked, I contacted them (all the way from Turkey) to provide afternoon tea for my dad's birthday. They were so accommodating and nothing was too much trouble. Being a few thousand miles away I was unable to sample the food but reports from my parents were that the sandwiches, scones and cakes were delicious and beautifully presented. As soon as the "no fly" restrictions are lifted and I can come to Radcliffe I will be queueing at the door. Thanks Keith and Pam.

We have just been to Platform 29 Tea Room, we were treated to afternoon tea by our Daughter and Granddaughter and what a treat it has been. We were met and greeted by a lovely friendly lady, our table had been reserved for us upsairs in the green room which had a selection of tables prettily set out it was warm and cosy and very welcoming. We did not have long to wait when we were brought tea and coffee by another lovely lady followed shortly afterwards by the most amazing sandwiches,scones with clotted cream and jam and an array of sponge cakes what a feast !! We tucked in and soon we were well and truly full. It was amazing we would highly recommend the tea rooms and the friendly hosts we certainly will be going again !! Well Done!!

Wife and I arrived early for Afternoon Tea. No prob. Very warm welcome from hosts. Used the green room upstairs. Excellent selection of sandwiches and cakes plus scones with cream and jam. Huge pot of tea for two. Fully recommend.

We could not fault this tearoom one bit. The sandwiches and cakes were absolutely beautiful. We had the afternoon tea and was plenty for us all. Never tasted a cup of tea like it, It was gourgous. Staff very friendly and a lovely cosy tearoom. Will definitely be visiting again. Highly recommend this place.

We met our daughter, son in law and tiny baby granddaughter here today for a birthday lunch. There was a really varied menu and everything we had was delicious. There was a lovely friendly atmosphere and the owners and staff were really welcoming. We’ll definitely be coming back.

Purchased a Groupon voucher for afternoon tea for 2. We were seated downstairs and was given a large pot of tea on our arrival. After a few minutes our afternoon tea arrived which was presented beautifully. A variety of sandwiches and bread consisting of wholemeal, white and seeded bread with fillings of egg mayonnaise, tuna mayo, cream cheese and cucumber and cheese. Bread and filling were of excellent quality. 2 plain scones with clotted cream and jam and 2 pieces of cake each, chocolate and lemon cake. An enjoyable afternoon with a lovely afternoon tea. Would definitely recommend and return again.

The cafe provided the catering for my mother in laws birthday party. The cakes were amazing, the service was excellent and they boxed up left overs for all the guests as there was more than enough food.

After a very busy start we had the full, traditional breakfast for two with tea and granary toast. Beautifully cooked and delicious.

When I say 'a hug', I mean that home from home feeling. The food and cakes all home made, fresh and very tasty!

We came to number 29 and were wonderfully received. Our dogs were made very welcome too. The cakes were great and the owner very friendly.

We visited here for Afternoon Tea and can honestly say it was fabulous. Everything was freshly made and tasted great. We saw other dishes coming out and the portion sizes are large so great value for money. We will definitely visit again and try more of the savoury dishes. The staff were also really great and friendly.

Just had afternoon tea. Great find in Radcliffe on Trent. Sandwiches freshly made. Home made cakes were wonderful. Had to have some boxed up as couldn’t manage them all. Very friendly staff. Added bonus dog friendly down stairs. Will definitely be going again.

Treated my dear friend to a Groupon voucher afternoon tea . A short walk from the main road and parking, disabled access, a number of tables downstairs which could be wheelchair friendly as well as outside tables.

I bought a Groupon for my mum for her birthday, she visited today and reported back how fantastic it was. Lots of lovely sandwiches,more filling than bread, lovely homemade cakes and scones. So full they had to bring sandwiches home with them.

Booked an afternoon tea on Groupon, arrived 20 minutes early but were welcomed into the fabulous green room. Full of vintage bits and bobs, mismatched furniture, all very cute and very clean. Fabulous atmosphere.

A fabulous experience! Owners were very welcoming and nothing was too much. The interior design was beautiful and made the experience even more special. The food was delicious and all home made, I cannot fault anything. This is the best afternoon tea I have experienced and I will definitely be returning again soon :)

We were looking for a simple lunch but one done well. We were not disappointed here. The menu was varied and offered all we were looking for and cooked really well. We will be returning.

Friendly comfortable surroundings with excellent home prepared food on offer. Good tea or coffee to your requirements. Super for a quick mid morning snack or a more leisurely lunch.

On the 11th August 2018 my daughters bridesmaid organised her hen party at this lovely little tea room. We had a private room upstairs the tea was plentiful and the sandwiches were amazing, the cakes were so fresh and the scones and jam huge and so very light. The owners insisted we took home the left overs and gave us boxes for this. It was an amazing and memorable afternoon

Its tucked away up a little alley off the Main Street in the village... clean and bright and with a cake table groaning under the weight! All home baked too.... trying to stop my waistline getting any bigger I opted for the club sandwich - juicy chicken and proper bacon made it just perfect.

A very cosy and pleasant experience - lovely coffee and hot chocolates - although we didn’t eat the baked goods on offer they looked amazing and it was a busy and popular spot - nice to have waitress service that was friendly and efficient too.

Called in by chance to theNo 29 Sandwiches and Coffee, not the most attractive place in the world, but the cakes and tea/coffee was excellent. The lady taking orders was extremely friendly.

Had a private room plentiful tea cakes and sandwiches. All leftovers boxed up for us to take home. Cakes were lovely and light. Excellent choice

Went in with a friend to find somewhere cool and relaxing, away from the heat. Had the most scrummy iced coffee which I have only just discovered. Every one I’ve tried so far has been different. We managed to avoid eating the cakes/scones but we did ogle them for a few minutes. I enquired about vegan possibilities for my daughter and they said “just give us a bit of notice but no problem”.

Great little tearoom just off the main road in the centre of Radcliffe, excellent quality food at a very reasonable price - Try it!

A friend and I often meet here for breakfast. The food here is superb quality, well cooked and presented and there's lots of it. The couple who run the place Pam & Keith are really friendly and always have a smile. The selection of home made cakes is vast and are delicious.

Very clicky in here, you don't really get acknowledged unless you know the lady owner and her rude husband. Unprofessional. Scones was good but would not go back. The whole experience was awkward.

Took kids (4) all were happy with their food with lots of salad and coleslaw. Great sandwiches and omelette.Lovely upstairs room and high chair.

I have visited this coffee shop with various owner but must admit lots more choice and atmosphere now.

Mouth-watering cakes it takes at least five minutes to decide which one to try as they all look delicious. Take a friend, order a different cake each and half it, you will still get a huge portion! Devine chocolate cake and fabulous scones. I keep meaning to try the delicious looking breakfast/lunches but just end up with another cake!

Met a friend for a catch up and had a lovely time over tea and cakes. I have been in a few times before but found it overpowering as the staff sit around chatting and laughing so I feel that I wouldn't be able to have a cosy time with friends but then I discovered the upstairs! There is lots of space, it's well decorated, welcoming and the staff were friendly but not in our face. The cake was delicious and the tea generous. I am afraid we outstayed our welcome time wise but they were so gracious and never once made us feel that we needed to move on (even though we accidentally stayed after closing time). Lovely little find. I have bought a gift voucher for a friend now.

Went here for a birthday party with family, the experience was excellent, great food, great service, great venue, clearly well loved. Fresh food with a personal touch. Really enjoyed the atmosphere and delicious food.

Los nuevos propietarios Keith y Pamela son fabulosas. Las tartas y bollos son casera y deliciosa. Llamamos para el desayuno y nos sirvieron un enorme lleno de maravillosas, ciabatta gruesas lonchas de bacon. Así que bueno, mi esposa fue al día siguiente con nuestra hija! El lugar ha sufrido una renovación recientemente con el nuevo propietario y el resultado es un muy cálido, acogedor, habitaciones confortables de té. Gran lugar.

You just have to try this place - the new owners Keith and Pam are a lovely friendly couple. Wonderful home made food. The cakes are mouthwatering and the cheese scones amazing. Will definitely be returning soon - next time for lunch. Well done Keith and Pam you deserve to do well.

The standout for this cafe is the service. Every time we've been in there has been a lovely lady serving us our sandwiches and drinks - nothing is too much trouble. Fabulous selection of freshly made sandwiches and cakes which have always been delicious. Seating is available upstairs as well if it's busy. It's just off the main street so easy to miss but I would highly recommend popping in and enjoying a few minutes to yourself with a lovely lunch.

this tea shop/coffee bar is tucked away up Station Terrace ofgf the Main Road but well worth finding. Good coffee and home baked cakes which would do Mary Berry proud.

Called in a few times since its changed ownership, everything's still fine and nothing to complain about. The owner is very pleasant, and nothing is two much trouble.

No 29 is one of my personal favourite coffee shops, they have lovely food, lots of seats and a good range of things to eat as well. It's a really nice coffee shop to visit as a quick lunch or just for a coffee. It would definitely be worth visiting it you happen to be nearby!

My wife and I wet to this cafe before Christmas. It is a great place, the coffee is smooth and rich, the food was plentiful and top notch and the hosts were fantastically receptive, nothing was too much trouble.I explored the cafe upstairs too where there was more seating and a large function room that the hoists were getting ready for a party. They commented they also had book and social groups that used it for meetings.If you're in the area, make a visit. It is worth it.

Popped in for a bacon, lettuce and tomato baguette, No 29 is a nice little place with friendly staff who make you feel welcome, they also do a mean home made lemon drizzle cake! just off the main road in Radcliffe-on-Trent, it has a wide range of different things on the menu, best place I've been to in Radcliffe.

I came here for a coffee with my friends and ended up staying for lunch. The fish finger sandwich is definitely a must along with a slice of cake. Will be making this my weekly meet up place.

I saw this had newly opened and called in for a light bite with some friends. I loved the style, decor and atmosphere. The staff were friendly and inviting. I had a jacket potato with all the trimmings and it was delicious. My friend said her poached eggs were cooked to perfection. Would highly recommend a visit.
