Delightful family run place with a fascinating selection. Ideal place for a quite drink that is not run of the mill Update Having frequented after far too long, it is so great to be reminded just how lovely this gem of a place is. The selection is still really good, and unique, the host is friendly, and the clientele is simply delightful. What isn't to like about any of that? We shall be back soon

Great place for a drink, perhaps the best in the village for real ale and craft beer. They always have good pints on, and Rob always keeps the customers feeling welcome. Great snacks on offer, warm in winter and cool in summer. Shame there’s only one toilet but what can you do!

A small village micropub. Very accomodating. Loved by its regulars, can fit quite a few people in considering it's size from the outside.

If anyone dislikes this place they need their head seeing to. Owners are wonderful. Customers are fab. Beer is always bang on. Never left just having one. Where else can you just strike up conversations with strangers so incredibly welcomingly?

Love this micro pub. The beer is consistently good and at a temperature I like (not too cold). I tend to gravitate to the seating down stairs as it's a little quieter. The main drinks served are beers and gin. Currently only open from Wednesdays to Saturdays, if my memory serves me well. Nice friendly atmosphere. If you like good beer, you'll like it here.

A micropub tucked in off the main road. Only open for four days a week which is the only downside. A good choice of ales and stout/porter served from casks near the bar but kept at the right temperature by cooling equipment. The management is always happy to accept recommendations regarding beer choice. There is a good selection of other drinks and the room next door is a gin bar.

Great little micro pub. The building is quaint and has character. The beer was very good and the landlord was friendly. Just watch the limited opening hours. Not open Sunday which is a shame if you are not local.

A number of small rooms make up this pub, which doesn't seem to attract the louder generation. The staff are polite and friendly, and you get the sense that everyone knows each other.

If you want to go to a pub that sells beer without any pretentions, in a cosy snug little place that has wee nooks and crannies, is authentically fuss free and always has a fab range of different beers, THIS is the one you need to go to. The proprietor, Rob, is always warmly welcoming and can't do enough to help. I think his wife runs the Gin bar part, and they have dozens of different gins with a great range of tonics / mixers and garnishes all served in ballon style glasses which mean more bubbles and more aroma leading to more flavour - great stuff

Loved this place - very straightforward pub. Good selection of beers, warm welcome and no gimmicks. This reminded me of the type of pub I first started drinking in with my dad - a place to have a conversation over a decent pint. No music, no TV, no slot machines and although it might be considered controversial- no kids! Very relaxed atmosphere and lovely friendly hosts. Also, as they didn't serve food they were quite happy for you to bring in your own and there is a great fish and chips takeaway over the road. With so many pubs closing its great to see a new one open. Well done.

We have been visiting the Chestnut on and off since it changed from the Cliff Inn so many a year, but Friday was the worst, don't get me wrong the Bar staff and serving staff are excellent, very attentive, polite and helpful, but if they get no back up from the Kitchen, they are embarrassed and uncomfortable taking orders and delivering food, we arrived on time and were seated at our reserved table, the waitress then gave us the menu and had to explain that the top three items on the menu were not available and there were no Pizza's either, this left three items to choose from and a list of sides, we should have left then !, we preceded to order with the food taking an age, on delivery the Large fish and chips was more like a mini fish and hundreds of chips, the burger was presented well and so were the sides, none of the food appeared to have been lovingly prepared but crisis managed, the wings were inedible the further we got down the plate, over all a not very pleasant experience, I appreciate that there have been problems with chef's at the Chestnut, but with such a reduced menu you don't need a Chef, someone should have rung us before we arrived to say there was a reduced menu, did we still want the reservation, rather than letting us turn up and be disappointed this is a great drinkers pub, but the food let them down this time in my opinion with the Manvers re-opening soon they need to get their act together sharpish

Came here with a friend we were visiting. Nice little tea room. Food is delicious and cooked fresh everyday. Having came here on our friends recommendation I certainly recommend this tea room. Made to feel very welcome. We took the last of the scones home to enjoy. I'd also like to recommend the luxury milkshake. That was really nice. The bacon brie and cranberry Panini is also a good choice.

Amazing food & fruit smoothies! I’ve never once had a bad meal everything tastes amazing the soup is always something different which I love the variety! Most places stick to the same soup every week! The fruit smoothies are actually addictive there that good and so refreshing!!! Definitely the best scran in the three towns by miles!! The staff can’t do enough to help you and make sure you are 100% happy with everything! Honestly you couldn’t fault it!
