Very friendly and a good selection well prepared food. Consistently excellent. Now opens on Tuesdays as well. New owners May 24 so far so good and they now offer a full breakfast.

Love this cafe. The setting is lovely, you can go for a walk around nature reserve/eco farm (complete with a few pigs/sheep/goats/geese) then have a nice breakfast or lunch. Coffee is top notch with a good selection of hot and cold drinks. Have to call out the porridge which is epic- the best porridge I’ve ever had out; it fills you up all day. Friendly efficient service. Like the fact you can order via QR code (you can also go to the till). Bacon and sausage cobs are amazing too. Choices for veggies/vegans too.

Excellent cafe located on a farm, showing the benefits of a farm diversifying its business with more income streams. Amazing cafe with lots of seating with much of it being in the lovely outdoors. Twix and Kit Kat cake was delicious and tasted homemade - reminded me of Cobbs Country Store’s mars bar cake! Coffees were hot and creamy and tea was nice. Great service and location though prices maybe too steep??

Not terribly chuffed by my latest visit to Cafe Velo Verde (and I am a regular). I had cash in my pocket, which I had won last year at a time trial and wanted to spend on a well earned cup of coffee and sausage roll, however the cashier was reluctant to accept cash. It was pointed out to me several times that they don’t do that and I was made to feel as if I was at fault for daring to have legal tender in my pocket!! The cashier then started stumbling around with a tub of coins (seems like they don’t have a proper float) and asking me if I want to donate to charity because she was ten pence short on the change — prices are already sky high, so no chance, how about you donate ten pence!! At this point, feeling told off and embarrassed, I gave up and paid with card. 🤬 The coffee and my sausage roll were good. Just shame about the experience trying to pay.

I cycle here frequently from Warwickshire from for some food and it’s a nice place to visit. We called in on the way home from holiday and it’s completely dog unfriendly. You can’t sit inside and you can’t sit under the canopy and have to sit outside. I kind of understand not being able to sit inside with a small dog, I mean other places manage perfectly well, but I understand. Not being able to sit outside under the canopy when it’s completely empty is crazy. Apparently dogs are a trip hazard. I wouldn’t mind so much if it was mid summer and packed out, it’s autumn, two small groups in the cafe, nobody under the canopy and four groups squeezed under the green gazebo freezing their hands off. Someone said that it never used to be like this and that the ownership has changed, if that’s the case I’m am so happy for them that business is so good that 75% of their customers were sat in one corner outside with their food, drinks and hands going cold in the wind and complaining about the management. Great place to cycle to, completely hopeless if you have a dog, sod ‘em, not going again on my bike. I’ll go to the Kingfisher Lodge instead. I expect a reply from the management will be Basil Fawlty-esque telling me how wrong I am, health and safety and I’m welcome to never darken their doors again. So what. 100/ of other places are more accommodating, and do better coffee.

Hmm. Maybe it was a one off but seemed a bit off the boil. Been few times on two wheels and returned this morning by car. My usual sausage bacon and egg cob wasn’t as good as usual for some reason. Unusually , the bacon was so crispy and cremated it was literally inedible, as was the egg which had a really unusual feature of a slimy white with a rock hard yolk. Sausages were delicious as usual and the pre ordered brown sauce was sparing. The bread was strangely dry . No one came to check if things were OK and no comment was made as the largely uneaten cob was cleared away . This is a great place and the first issue I’ve ever had , so sure it’s just a blip, but as some feedback please cook the bacon less!

This is a regular haunt of my husband as he is a keen cyclist and he’s raved about the coffee, cakes and bacon for sometime. Having eaten here myself a couple of times I can vouch for the excellence of the food, particularly the cheese scones, toasties and soup and the coffee (especially the special velo flat white, which is sublime on a cold day). Yesterday twenty of us turned up at the half way point of a walk (we had pre-warned them) and all had great coffee and cakes ( some breakfast cobs were also had). Thank you so much as we were served quickly and efficiently so had plenty of time to enjoy our break. Thanks also for saving us the tables which meant we could all sit together. Hope to be back soon.

Visited this cafe after a lovely walk around the villages. It’s in a lovely setting and a great location, however we were disappointed that’s it’s not really dog friendly. The cafe and undercover outside area were empty yet signs saying dogs not allowed, there’s a sign to say you have to sit outside or underneath a gazebo. It was a cold windy day so our food / coffee (which were lovely) went cold very quickly. I think your missing out on what is a prime dog walking area.

Visited this cafe due to really good reviews. Ordered cappuccino and cherry blonde and my friend ordered an iced chai latte and rocky road. The coffee was really good but the blondie had about half a cherry in which was a bit disappointing. However my friend throughly enjoyed both her chai latte and rocky road. Then we ordered a passion fruit smoothie each and shared a cheese and tomato rosaries. Both of these were really good and tasty. The staff were all lovely and helpful, answering any questions we had. Only negative would be the price as for just a cheese and tomato tomato it was £5.80. However I am guessing the products are good quality which would explain the price. Great experience l, would return!

Visited today as my wife had been before and must say a lovely little cafe. My wife had a vegetarian sausage cob and I had a sausage and bacon cob which were both fantastic and had a lovely latte too. Only slight complaint would be I would personally prefer the latte in a proper latte mug with a handle instead of a glass with no handle as can be a bit hot to hold but that’s just a minor thing… other than that absolutely fantastic and we will visit again.

Coffee, a flat white came later, which for me was perfect. Good latte art and correct temperature. Taste was mild, but with natural sweetness, obviously fresh beans, clean machine running at correct brew temperature and grinder set properly. My only slight negative comment would be that the bike racks are terrible.

Welcome break on a cycle from Lincoln to Nottingham and a nice place it is too. The owner (I think) stopped to ask after our journey and was very nice and sociable. Couple of minor things though and don't want to sound picky but, I had to ask for the sugar to go with the coffee I ordered and was given just 2 small sachets, certainly not a teaspoon in each. The sausage and egg cob was just what I needed it be, with quality produce, but it would have been much easier to eat if the Sausages were sliced in two along their length and better held in place on the cob.

Been visiting on and off over two years and have seen the cafe and surrounds develop and evolve. The units are now all occupied, businesses include a hairdresser, a beauty salon and kitchen design. What is ever present is the quality of the coffee - drinks as a whole to be fair - and the utter professionalism and friendliness of the people who work there. The staff were great pre-pandemic in 2019 and then stepped up a notch throughout the Winter 2020 lockdown, when outdoor cafes were allowed to open. Cafe Velo Vert was often our only bit of sunshine, as we determined to keep on riding our bikes despite wind and the cold temperatures. As health workers whose jobs have been monumentally difficult, it was a treat to have someone else make you a coffee and somewhere to go last winter! As the Great Re-Opening has virtually happened by now, this visit we were able to treat ourselves to a sit down at a table (no longer on the steps or the wooden garden surround) and so shared a Rocky Road. Massive slice for one as it happened, so happy to have shared! I usually have a hot chocolate with all the extras but this time chose an Earl Gray Blue (something) because I’d already decided I was having a cake! Himself had a Velo Vert Special Latte which I think involved darl chocolate sprinkles… Lovely setting with all the plants really starting to bed in - literally as there’s a metal bedstead as a climbing frame. AND, I’ve not even mentioned the nature walk, come here on a bike or not, it’s a supremely tranquil and vibrant little spot!

Amazing food & fruit smoothies! I’ve never once had a bad meal everything tastes amazing the soup is always something different which I love the variety! Most places stick to the same soup every week! The fruit smoothies are actually addictive there that good and so refreshing!!! Definitely the best scran in the three towns by miles!! The staff can’t do enough to help you and make sure you are 100% happy with everything! Honestly you couldn’t fault it!
