Very pleasant staff and lovely fresh fish and chips, cooked to order. Good extensive menu. Lots to choose from. Cod was amazing. Great chips too.

This cafe is overpriced, dry food and rude staff. Will never eat anything here again. Would not reccomend don’t waste your time or money.

We visited the Old Chippy on 19th April after a visit to Beamish (we traveled down from Scotland). It was our first visit and we found it by accident. What a very pleasant surprise. The owner and his wife were warm and friendly and the food was excellent and well-priced. All the food was cooked fresh and was very tasty. Thank you for a great experience.

Absolutely terrible!!!! Waste of food and the owner is an absolute disgrace! He hasn't got a clue, rude, and tries to charge you every penny he can!!! He didn't want to separate the cod with the chips because he didn't want to use another sheet of paper to wrap it. Hadock was undercooked and soggy. Chips soggy too, and the owner is really stingy with the salt and vinegar! Large chips, small cod, and medium haddock nearly £20 quid, definitely not worth it, and you get charged for the 10p bag! Cash only too!!! Joke of a place, last time ever! Never again!!!! F that!!!!

recent dinner there. great location and attractive room. staff very poorly trained and sloppy in their service. worst of all - the food. I got sick from the oysters that "had been brought up today from a local fisherman". the meal was cold, tasteless fish and chips and very overpriced. it was a struggle to get the staff to come to the table. probably the worst of all our Sky dinners.

Great Take Away I think the best Fish a chips in Felixstowe, very friendly staff,very clean shop,card or cash option, most do not these days.reasonable,prices,a great order on line service.

Having been in the area for a week property portfolio scouting, this was our night in the North for a while and staying with friends. As I had been late back and everyone else had eaten, I chose to get Fish and Chips and give this place a second try, after all it had signage out stating “Award Winning Fish & Chips and Best Newcomer 2025”, interesting that they appear to have been open over 2 years, is not a new comer to me, but what do I know. I walked in and was immediately greeted with “what do you want”, no “how could we help you”, no “heres the menu, let us know what you would like after you have had a look”, no “we can reccomend XXX today”. I ordered Haddock and Chips and was charged £10.50, yes thats £10.50 for a take away Haddock and Chips, but at least the fish was going to be cooked fresh, much to the disgust of the muttering fryer, who was more interested in talking to his mate over the shop counter about a trip to Turkey! It felt like I was an annoyance at actually ordering. He went and placed the fish in the fryer and then came back to talk with his friend about Turkey. I waited and waited and eventually was presented with a very neatly packed box with my meal in it. I got back to our friends, opened the box and found the smallest overcooked fish I have ever seen with a decent quantity of overcooked chips. I placed the meal on a plate and as I did so nearly 2.5” of the fish snapped off to reveal that was solid batter! So the already tiny fish became even smaller, look at the picture! I attempted to eat what was there and finished up throwing most of it, overcooked and dry! WHAT A DISGRACE! I actually went onto the webpage of the company that clearly gives these awards to anyone that enters! Interestingly, they asses the contestants by online form and on occasion via a zoom call. So no actual visit then!!!

My mum took my two kids today- she was in horror and panic when she couldn't find my three year old because he had wondered off with another family- and was only discovered in the main reception of the commonwealth pool. for your children's safety don't use this soft play. Such a disgrace my heart aches at all the horrific endings today could have had- absolute shame on this so called child friendly venue.

Massively overpriced. Paid £18.50 per person for a cheese salad. We were too shocked to complain. I am all for supporting businesses at this time however feel this was taking advantage of our custom.

I have been 3 times now and every time food has been terrible, hardly no chips, staff miserable and not friendly. Will not be using again.

Absolutely rubbish chip shop. Service took ages and only two people in front of me. Fish cake was like mush, chips were soggy, and sausage in bayter was like it was cooked last month. The curry sauce was also like water , its was way too runny. This place has become a complete shambles . Don't waste tour time here

I have been ordering fish and chips almost weekly from this place for over a year even before the owner was changed. Fishes made by that male worker were NEVER CRISPY. This shop is walking distance from my house so I never complained, I pretty much eat anything when I am hungry. Until today I ordered 2 fishes, 1 portion of rice, 1 portion of chips, 1 portion of curry. The guy commented right in front of me that I am 'hard to please' after I requested to pack everything separately and then made a comment about how small the portion of rice he gave me (a SMALL cup of rice to go with cod!!). I have never had issues with the female workers, only had issues with this guy. He seems to always find excuses, go try challenge him yourself on the smallest thing, you will understand what I mean. He also recommended me a curry which he believed to be spicy but it was not spicy but sweet! C'mon now at least learn about the things you sell!!! Probably no one will care about this comment but I wont be returning to this shop until the actual owner has looked into this matter.

We were out for a drive in north Antrim. We stopped In carrickfergus for a walk about, it was cold, we fancied something to eat to warm us up. As we walked into the Windrose it felt really welcoming. The staff took us tour seats overlooking the marina. When we both look at the menu we both knew what we wanted “sea food chowder” and it was so good and well presented, it was very filling, the wheaten bread served along with the chowder was delicious ,lovey and moist perfect. Will definitely be back.

Pedido pescado y patatas fritas grandes más 1 cordero hecho kebab. tanto el pescado como las patatas fritas salieron pequeños y saben asqueroso. La carne de kebab estaba completamente fría. le dio el kebab al perro e incluso el perro se alejó de él. Justo hoy volví a decirle al hombre 1 sobre estar sobrecargado y 2 la carne estaba fría pensando que apreciaría mi respeto al hablar con él sin clientes alrededor, pero su actitud era totalmente repugnante también. Recomiendo encarecidamente a cualquiera que evite esta tienda de patatas fritas sobrepreciosas y de mala calidad. Si el hombre tuviera más modales sobre él, lo dejarías pasar, pero he estado entrando aquí más tiempo del que él mismo ha estado allí. También mis amigos se han quejado de la actitud de este hombre.
