We visited twice during our stay near Gorran Haven and everything was just so beautifully done. From the tea cost on the teapot, to the melt in the mouth scones and plentiful gluten free options for my children who are coeliacs! What a little gem of a cafe away from the hustle and bustle of the beach with incredible view, fantastic service and delicious home cooked food.

Visited this cafe after a long coastal path walk. The staff were very friendly and efficient. We had a cream tea, which was delicious. Made my day when our pot of tea had a brightly coloured tea cosy on it. Haven’t seen one of these since I used to visit my grandmother as a child. Tea always tastes better from a teapot. Thank you for the nostalgia.

This cafe is situated on the coastal path to the west of Gorran Haven. Gorran Haven is a small fishing village on the south Cornish coast, I had just completed a 10km walk and arrived tired, hungry and thirsty, to be welcomed with open arms, the day was sunny and the amazing view over the sea was complimented by the pleasant surroundings, chairs and tables outside on several levels, brightly coloured bunting and table cloths added an air of festivity, the food simple and delicious, mackerel pate (home made) with Pitta bread, quiches, soup and salad, as well as an array of truly awesome cakes offered sustenance and locally sourced apple juice completed my meal. Inside there are several tables, in case the weather is unkind as well as a well stocked shop selling local crafts, I can particularly recommend the hand made woolen socks. The service is first rate and the whole enterprise is run by volunteers to support the local village hall.

Visited last Saturday on a drizzly afternoon after checking out the beach and before we could check into our hotel. Most of the seats were taken but a lovely local couple invited us to share their table. Our tea and cake was great and so were the staff. This cafe is really special to the community and as a visitor I found myself wishing I was a part of that community too. Great views to be had along the coastal path so wether you call in the cafe before or after the walk you will not be disappointed.

Was determined to find this cafe after seeing on the internet, visiting Cornwall from the Isle of Wight. Well what can I say, great view, scrumptious cake and scone - of course jam first! On a walk that included the coast path from Dodman to Mevagissey we came upon this delightful cafe just as we entered Gorran Haven. The first thing we noticed was the sign inviting us to refill our water bottles from an outside tap, something the staff also drew our attention to. Cold water on a hot day was a good start. Enjoyed coffee, sitting outside and soaking up the view. Noticed that there was a good choice of some tempting homemade cakes. Good atmosphere and the staff were very friendly despite being busy. Not open every day so best to check their facebook page for opening hours, you wouldn't want to miss out.

One of our party wanted a cream tea, another a light salad and the youngest member just a bread roll. At this delightful Coastal Cafe all choices were accommodated and a mackerel pate with pitta bread was also enjoyed. Friendly staff insisted on giving us maps to look at over lunch as they heard us discussing our walking. We sat outside overlooking the small harbour and followed our savouries with wonderfully light coffee and walnut cake and chocolate brownie with cups of tea ( extra milk, hot water and mugs provided so the young children could share the pot with us). One of the serving staff explained that it was a collaborative community enterprise which opened only in Saturdays in winter but operated for more hours as the weather got better. It was yet another example of the amazing community spirit in this tiny seaside village where the public toilets in the main street are managed by volunteers after government cuts.

This cafe is a gem. It is run by a group of local people who know a thing or two about cakes. And homemade soup. And tasty hot & cold meals. It overlooks the beach at Gorran Haven, in the old Billiard room (probably prime real estate).I should begin again and say it is up a little flight of steps behind the beach, through a small grassy boatyard and next to the Village Hall. It has setting and character before it does anything else. What it does is provide a lovely, vintage feeling cafe experience. There's handmade bunting and wooly tea cosys. It is authentic and low key.I should also say there is a great Shopping Opportunity here. Maybe it shoud be called the Coast Path Cafe and Shop. There are local paintings, cards, handmade hand bags, aprons, one off items, pretty and unusual. See my pictures for the best description as this one has got a little out of hand in my desire to tell you about it's many great aspects. The paintings are worthy of a smart gallery. Some will know that there's quite a community of collected artists in this small village. If the Cliff Path Cafe was a business set up privately in say, Hampstead doing exactly the same thing (without the Cliffpath, obviously), I think they'd make a bomb. It's amazing that Gorran Haven is so lucky to have this quiet and delightful asset in it's midst.Everyone I know who has been has loved it. It is as good for a filling lunch, as for a quick cup of tea & a chat. Though somehow you can never leave without eating cake!Highly recommended.

The café is right at the end of the coastal path as you descend into Gorran Haven. If you are on the beach it is right up behind the Fisherman's Cellar with the multi colour fish flags waving around the perimeter on the fence. It is also next to the Village Hall. There is indoor and outdoor seating. The view is fab and you can sit and look down on the beach and towards the fish and chip shop. The scones were delicious (far better than the top reviewed best place for a Cornish Cream tea in Charleston and a better price!) It comes with strawberry jam and a big dollop of clotted cream. There is quite a selection of teas or coffee as you so desire. Service is wonderful. I asked how the café works. They have a co-op and take turns to serve the food and beverages. However the cakes, pies and the scones are baked by a local lady who knows her stuff. There is a place to tie your pet by the gate as you come in and you can sit at the round tables in front or at the bench seats outside. Inside there are also some tables. They have a local honey that I tried that was excellent as well. In winter (Nov to Feb) they are open just on Saturday's from 10.30-4.30 Rest of the year from Thursday to Sunday 10.30 to 4.30 and if the beach is crowded they will open it up on Weds as well. They also do serve some light meals as well, and cold beverages. They can also be found on Facebook under Coastal Path Café. Gorran Haven.I would certainly recommend this place.Bon AppetitHope this review was helpful to you.
