Lamorna Pottery in Cornwall, Isles of Scilly

Stayed at Lamorna Pottery - the room was great, really big and stylish; the food was fantastic. Very highly recommended!

Friendly welcome, lovely service and great food. We visited with a dog and autistic young adult and it is a great environment for both! No worries about the dog breaking pottery as it's in a lean to conservatory. Quiet and peaceful for the young person. Pepper and coconut soup with sour dough bread, cream tea with loads of cream, homemade cakes very generous fresh and moist. All lovely.

We had lentil Dahl, Aloo Gobi, Red pepper soup. All the meals were EXCELLENT. They were happy to accommodate for a child with just a bowl of rice. I really have to visit in the Summer when it’s a little warmer to sit and have our food outside as the woodland garden is lovely.

Only stopped for coffee and cake, both excellent.

Nice place surrounded by greenery, like a fairy tale, we stopped by chance, we had a delicious breakfast, the staff were friendly and kind, we visited the Pottery and talked to the artist, I purchased a small nativity scene that will make a beautiful impression in the my collection. If you are in the area I recommend it for breakfast and don't miss making a purchase at the Pottery, it will be a wonderful memory. Warm regards to the whole team and Thank you. Mauro

We had the most fantastic afternoon tea for our daughter’s 16th birthday. Dottie and Mark were lovely (as was the other lady whose name I didn’t catch). The food was AMAZING and lots of it. They even baked a special birthday cake for her. I cannot recommend them enough and wish them all the best for their new venture. Would highly recommend and we will be back for lunch before we leave Cornwall. Thank you so much.

Have been to this cafe many times over the years but this was the first for three or four years. One of our party had a cheese and chutney sandwich which had a side salad. The rest of us had a cream tea, well what else would you have, it's Cornwall after all. The sandwich was very good, the cream tea was awesome. These wonderful wonky homemade scones, lashings of jam and cream. Probably the best cream tea you will get.

Excellent lunch with tasty salads, accompanying homemade quiche with really light pastry and a deep filling. Husband's langoustines were perfectly cooked. Good choices are available on the menu, and whilst we didn't try them, the cakes looked great.

We popped in here to look around the pottery, full of lovely artistic pots, cups, larger pieces and well just a rather eclectic mix of things...all very nice. We bought a couple of gifts and headed on our way kicking ourselves that we had eaten earlier as the food smelt and looked gorgeous.....we shall be back to eat!

Agree with the other reviews on here - this place is excellent. Wanted a base to explore Lamorna without going all the way down to the waterside. Tranquil setting - table was by a stream. Extensive menu - we chose the curries, which were delicious and fragrant. A good range of crafts and gifts to choose from. Would highly recommend.

we are semi regulars living in the area so pop in after a walk in the woods nearby. the service is always friendly and welcoming. it is a treat for us to visit. the cakes are the best in the area by a long way. i have visited most of the cafes in the area and i haven't eaten better cakes. the garden is a delight and very peaceful even in the height of the tourist season in august. highly recommended.

We stopped off at the Lamorna Pottery Cafe on our way to the B & B we were staying at for the week. We were greeted by a lovely lady who took our order. The menu is healthy and varied. The food is great and there is a good selection of cakes on offer if you have a sweet tooth for after. I had the vegetable quiche and salad and my husband had a lovely chicken curry. Both meals used fresh ingredients and tasted great.

The cheese scones are absolutely delicious! The best I have ever tasted & I am fussy. Nice little spot for lunch & such friendly people running it. Don’t let those who slag it off get to you. They are nasty self important people! Grrrr!

Haven’t been here since covid hit and was so happy with the delights on offer. A vast array of cakes made by owner on offer. The carrot cake was joyous and so big was able to share with another member of group who thought he didn’t want anything to eat. He also had a bit of my friend’s Bakewell tart as that was big too. My husband was delighted to see apple pie and custard on offer. All in all a very good experience which will be replicated very soon when out on our bikes again.

Possibly the best carrot cake I’ve ever eaten, coffee excellent. Vegetable curry excellent.. Can’t recommend it place highly enough.

We visited this cafe after reading some of the other reviews and we're not disappointed. We were greeted with a friendly welcome and ordered a cream tea to share. The scones were warm and light with very generous portions of jam and cream. The garden is cosy and tables clean. Beautiful situation and we thoroughly enjoyed our visit. Definitely returning!! We visited as a family, and had a range of different meals on the menu, we tried the chicken curry, vegetarian Dahl and the quiche which were all were very tasty and big portion sizes! The staff were also very friendly and would highly recommend a visit!

Had the lentil Dahl with rice. Huge portion of the tastiest Dahl, excellent value for money. The guys were happy to give me a doggy bag to takeaway as I couldn’t eat it all. Was lovely heated up the next day too. Such a shame they close over the winter period.

A lovely place to visit again and again. A superb little pottery shop filled with the famous Lamorna Pottery as well as other pieces by various artist. The definite bonus is the cafe! Delicious soups, lentil curry, and oh! Cakes are all made in their kitchen. A must visit, and it's all snuggled amongst the trees and a stream. Truly lovely.

Excellent HUGE portions of genuine vegetarian curry dishes. A little pricey but worth it. The hosts showed Genuine pride in providing a unique and special meal in a quiet corner of Cornwall. I will return when I’m next close by and hungry!

Quiet location, garden setting for good lunchtime snack.

We cannot recommend this lovely cafe highly enough. It is a great stop-off on the way to Lands End, Lamorna Cove, Porhcurno, etc. The staff are really friendly and helpful. We found this place early Spring this year and have been several times since. We have had both lunch and afternoon tea. The menu is varied and the food is excellent quality.The conservatory is clean and comfortable and warm in the cooler weather. I would recommend a portion of thier bean salad to accompany your toastie/paninni,it is delicious. Muniur has a wonderful memory and I was amazed to find that he remembered that I don't eat onions and love extra strong coffee! They evn take well behaved dogs and even give them biscuits treatsIt was lovely to see that the pottery is still a working pottery as we first visited with our sons in the early 80's when they made a pot each.Well worth a visit.

Recently visited with my parents. Been about 40 years since I was last at Lamorna. Still a lovely place. Amazing food all fresh and very tasty. The curry is amazing and the selection of cakes makes it difficult to choose. Portions are generous. The pottery is very unique as well. Would recommend cost for lunch and a look around.

Down last year and didn’t get a chance to review then / back today and had an excellent lunch - home made special soups seem to be what to go for - owners very hospitable and friendly.

Had lovely afternoon tea even though weather was shocking. Hosts extremely pleasant and even walked customers to the car under protection of a large umbrella! The afternoon tea was plentiful with loads of cream and jam pots if tea and lovely setting.

We never got to eat in the restaurant in our week here, but found the proprietor to be such a charming and helpful gentleman we felt we needed to let you know to visit if you are in the vicinity. Unlike the pub in Lamorna, whenever we went in here it was packed. A simple menu but the whole place smelt beautifully of mild spice as you entered. It is also cheaper than the Lamorna Cove café. The shop is not tacky and has a lovely selection of prints of the area by local artists amongst tasteful gifts. The selection of cakes on offer was impressive and we 'took out' four generous portions of Victoria Sponge, which was light and delicious. Do drop in. Ample parking!

I wanted a piece of pottery from Cornwall on holiday. I heard about this place, which also had a café. Gorgeous setting, and good range of things to eat and drink which we enjoyed in very pretty surroundings. This place is also a B and b. A perfect combination

I don't normally do reviews but I'm happy to recommend Lamorna Pottery as a good place to eat. The quiche and soup were very good and the service was excellent.

We popped in to the Lamorna pottery for a look around and a spot of lunch, the pottery is well worth a visit but what really surprised my wife and I was the quality of the food it was brilliant. I had the chicken curry and it is one of the best curry's I have ever had so tasty and better than most Indian restaurant's we have visited To get an authentic curry this far west was the icing on the cake. My wife had the fish platter and said it was delicious,we both recommend dining at the Lamorna Pottery.
