5 Stars Talland Bay Hotel is a breath of fresh air in a world of uniformity—wonderfully unique and full of character. The decor is charmingly eccentric, and the staff are simply outstanding: attentive, knowledgeable, and eager to make our stay perfect. Our weekend was fabulous from start to finish, enjoyed by my wife, myself, and even our small dog, who was warmly welcomed. We truly didn’t want to leave. Highly recommended, and we can’t wait to return!

Amazing place, food and service excellent.

We went to Talland Bay Hotel for their steak night, and it was absolutely incredible. Honestly, the best food we’ve had in a long time, even after dining at some amazing places recently. The steak and everything else was cooked to perfection, and the quality of the dishes was outstanding. The staff were exceptional, some of the best service I’ve ever experienced which makes it extra memorable. Can’t wait to try their other menus/nights!

We did not stay only had Sunday lunch.Staff excellent but food was at best ‘Pub Grub’ My wife’s lamb was tasteless, my prawn cocktail was a dish of salad with mashed prawns,the beef was ok but on a loaded plate ! Couple of glasses of wine and in all around £93 very poor😕

Stopped by for afternoon tea, and I have to say it was one of the best I've had. Brilliant staff looked after us so well, and the dogs joined us too.. There is even a doggy menu for the evening meal if you wanted to stay.

I returned once more, to my favourite place to dine. This time for afternoon tea, and with my family in tow. Great grandma, granddad, mum and one year old fashion icon, Francesca, who was made very welcome. This is an iconically quirky hotel, where locals can treat themselves to something rather special, by way of refreshment, and today was indeed, “a treat”. A delicious, and plentiful afternoon tea, served in the conservatory from where the view is stunning, and attended by Ruby and her colleagues who gave us first class service. Thank you to all concerned, another memorable visit. The only problem…………in boxing up the food we couldn’t manage to eat, they forgot to give us our jam and cream for our beautiful scones………. we shall find a way to forgive you…😄.x

So don’t do cream teas!!! On chefs day off!! So disappointed and let down after being recommended to pay a visit on such a special occasion, after bringing these very bad items to their attention, there was no charge and deposit would be refunded! But as of yet that has not happened!! Will never go back and ensure I tell lots of people to go somewhere else!

Had a fantastic lunch here. Calm, friendly and efficient service. Our dog was welcome in the conservatory restaurant. Highly recommended.

Superb hotel and restaurants in everyway but what really makes it stand out is the team! Kind, funny and very welcoming. Loved our two night stay.

Cancelled our booking due to an issue with their online booking system not taking children into account even when entered in the search options. Refunded our deposit but took no accountability for it being an issue wholly within their control and left us without a room or alternative.

Incredible place and the best part is how lovely and kind all the staff are. They really care about your experience and are always helpful. We were lost on the A roads due to roadworks and the lovely Ruby at reception guided us on a way there which was a godsend! The dinner at the restaurant was exquisite! This was our second stay here because we loved it so much the last time - thank you to everyone at Talland bay for all you do!

I'm sure others have said, the service here is fantastic (a big thank you to Ruby, Dan and the wider team). Hotel is quirky and eclectic, decor certainly leaves an impression as does the great food. Showers do need improving, flow is not what you'd expect

What a lovely and stylish hotel. And in a spectacular remote coastal location, shown off to its finest when the sun puts in an appearance. Fascinating and funky artefacts around every corner ensure the decor shouts fun and frivolity. But the carefully curated attention to detail signals a keen eye for such matters. We enjoyed lunch in the conservatory, which proved the perfect location to savour the view as well as the food. Each dish was tasty and well up to expectations. The excellent service struck that difficult balance between being professional but relaxed and informal. Oh and not forgetting the gardens and grounds which provide a jaw-dropping marine vista. We can't wait for a return visit!

Our most favourite hotel! Beautiful rooms individually designed and great hospitality. Most dog friendly hotel we have ever visited. Food is always top notch as is the service. We have always had a warm welcome and great experience with Talland Bay Hotel. Superb place to recharge or as a base to explore. Highly recommended.

Visited Talland Bay Hotel for the New Year period and had the most fantastic experience. The hotel itself has been very thoughtfully decorated in an interesting and quirky way. Every turn you spot something you haven't seen before and it all works really well. We had a first floor room with a view to the side of the hotel which was beautifully decorated and spotlessly clean. We disappeared for breakfast each morning and by the time we returned, the bed was made and the room cleaned! The food was excellent - could not fault it, even with a dietry requirement; the team went out of their way to ensure I was really well looked after. Service was excellent. Every request met with a smile and help was quick. Expensive, yes but we don't mind paying for such a lovely experience. Thank you Talland Bay Hotel for making our stay so lovely.

A beautiful place situated overlooking the sea. Fantastic decor. Fantastic staff and to make it a complete memorable day Fantastic food. Highly recommend the afternoon tea.

Pricey but gorgeous. Just had coffee. Lots of people having Christmas lunch. Looked like they were having a ball! The roads are very narrow with passing places so do be careful. Cheers!!!

Tried out this hotel after a recommendation and we were not disappointed it was not cheap but the best things in life rarely are! A few narrow lanes to get there but believe me it’s worth it! The staff are friendly, rooms extremely comfortable, surroundings and view fantastic and to top it all the restaurant food is absolutely TOP DRAWER. In fact some of the best food we have ever had and equal if not better than a few Michelin star restaurants we have sampled! We will definitely be going back soon.

Great situation and menu but arrogant can't be bothered staff, on line booking for a table, 8hrs they don't reply, telephone message 4hrs later no reply, finally got through live, had seen the messages but didn't reply cos fully booked that day!

The Hotel has two fine assets, one, the staff in all departments from the welcome on arrival up to and including departure. Lovely, helpful, friendly people. Two, the location, set on a hillside with views of the English Channel and surrounding countryside. Access is via a West Country motorway, that is a one car width sunken Lane, but this adds to the excitement.

We stayed at the hotel for a wedding. I have nothing bad to say. The staff were amazing during the whole stay. Friendly and attentive. The room was clean and beautifully decorated. And the food was divine. Highly recommend this hotel. I loved all the quirky pieces of art and the decorations.

Stayed at the Talland Bay Hotel for 1 night a special treat for us. The staff were so friendly and helpful. We received a free upgrade sea view room 12 very nice. We had booked into the restaurant for evening meal and they were offering a full tasting meal with G & T and various wines. It was £100 per person. I initially thought wow but we booked it. Well what can I say what beautiful special meal. One of the best I have ever had. Lovely. I need to say a special thank you to Kyra who made the evening even more special for us. Her knowledge and enthusiasm was wonderful. My wife says this place will become our guilty pleasure. Many thanks Jarrod and Sue Barton.

An idiosyncratic gem tucked away on the Cornish coast. The food and drink were second to none and the team looking after us spot on, delightful and efficient.

Absolutely lovely place, had a birthday lunch there with family. From the moment we stepped inside it was just perfect, the staff were very friendly and happy, the chef was very helpful with food for my darling grandson who has some food allergies. Would definitely recommend for that special occasion!

Last minute booking but what a find! From the views as you are approaching the hotel, to the greeting you receive from the team, everything I'd outstanding. Very unique eclectic, almost boutique style decoration in the hotel and the rooms do not disappoint either....quite the opposite! Very spacious, incredibly comfortable large bed, great bathroom, and toiletries to match. Finally, the food! I'm reviewing this as I eat, it's that good! If this is on your travels then don't hesitate, pay whatever you need to and stay here, you won't be disappointed! Once again the team here are amazing and just add to the experience! I almost wish I wasn't on a business trip and had the chance to explore the grounds more!

I can’t express what a lovely time me and my family had at The Talland Bay Hotel. We booked this for a Christmas present for my Mum and Nan and it completely exceeded all our expectations. By far the nicest Afternoon Tea we have ever had. The staff were just so sweet and accommodating we cannot wait to return later in the year. Thank you again.

We booked here at the last moment. The view is specatular. The food is excellent, but most memorable are the staff. Friendly, fun and attentive in ensuring you have a great stay. A real hidden gem that should be on everyone's list of places to stay when in the area!

We had an amazing Xmas break here with our rescue dog, Rex. The staff were outstanding, each and every one going above and beyond to help us enjoy our stay to the full. All of the guests were lovely many of them also joined by their canine family members. We didn’t want for anything and the food was outstanding.

Think of Italian Sorrento region and yet its Cornwall and a quirky tucked away hotel with sea views. The interior won't dissapoint if you appreciate unusual art works. Your eyes will feast on the wall displays and ornaments in all rooms

Stunning location but you need to be comfortable with driving in the lanes which luckily I am. Staff have been so welcoming and friendly, and the little extras for our dogs was such a surprise, they were given a basket each containing handmade treats, bowls and towels.

£5 takes the record for the most expensive coffee I've ever had. The waiter must have been embarrassed, as he muttered the price under his breath as he handed over the card machine. The views were nice though, and I did get a free biscuit.

Such a nice hotel which is also dog friendly too. The food is out of this world and over 140 different gins on offer in the bar. You could check in and not leave the place for the duration of your stay as the grounds are also lovely. The staff also do an impeccable job making sure you have a great stay.

Excellent service and food the best that you can expect- one of Cornwall 's finest!

Beautiful place with first class service. We stayed in one of the cottages which was very nice. We had a minor problem that was sorted immediately. Only real criticism (hence only 4* for accommodation) was the lack of soft lighting in the lounge area and the bathroom , particularly the shower could do with an update. However they did not detract from our stay.

Really enjoyed our overnight stay for my hubby's up coming Birthday this month. Lovely delicious 3 course meal and various Gin and Tonics. Lovely setting and added bonus our room had a sea view. Friendly helpful staff will definitely be back in the future. Would highly recommend.

Let's just say the service provided by the staff here is second to none. It's not over the top but extremely friendly and everyone has time for a chat. Food and accommodation is first class and the location is just so tranquil. We will definitely go back.

Parking is £1.40 for an hour or £4 for 1-3 hours as of October 2021. The beach here is dog friendly. The bay is at the bottom of a narrow single track lane with regular passing points, and is quite steep in places. The bay itself is small and secluded / sheltered, with a relatively steep stone and slate beach with heavy seaweed covering. A seam of plum purple slate can to found in the cliff face to the right as you look out to sea. Fresh water trickles down to the sea from the direction of the car park next to the bay. The menu for the Talland Bay Cafe has been uploaded with this review.

Everything excellent, accommodation, food and staff. Lovely surroundings.

It looked quirky on website but, apart from the view, a bit tired and washed up. No finesse with our lunch, crab meat between two huge doorsteps of bread, not what I was expecting and for the price, service awful!!! Massively overpriced…..style over substance.
