Absolutely diabolical. Took over half an hour to bring out a slice of toast and a flapjack for a child and a subpar panini. Terrible slow service with unprofessional staff.

We popped in here for a coffee en route to our destination. A nice atmosphere, with several locals chatting at other tables. Excellent coffee and we were offered a taster of biscuits that the proprietor had just made! There was a class going on in the Hall. It all felt nice and villagey - we shall stop there again.

My husband and I discovered this shop and tearoom last weekend and enjoyed it so much visited again this weekend! Beautiful setting, very clean and very friendly (they brought our puppy dog treats and water) 👍😀 Cafetière coffee very very good. I had the homemade cheese scone with homemade chutney. Absolutely delicious. I will be having the same next time I visit. A very good menu and very reasonably priced. Great shop and deli too (good selection of beer, wine and spirits) Lovely staff. I discovered this little gem of a cafe and well-stocked village stores on my way home from Epsom. The staff were very welcoming and the cafe was very clean. I had a bacon and sausage bap with a coffee. The food arrived promptly and was very tasty- the bap clearly fresh on the day. I’ll definitely call in again if I am out that way.

I never write reviews but feel I have to on this occasion. A friend and I visited this afternoon with our 4 dogs in tow, a big ask for many establishments. We were so welcomed and looked after. The afternoon tea was fabulous, and so filling that we couldn’t manage to eat our slices of cake so they wrapped them to take home. The dogs even got a plate of gravy bones! Will definitely return for another visit!

This is the perfect place to come with your dog after a walk on Headley Heath. We always get a warm welcome and the home made cake is memorable! My favourites are the warm Dorset apple cake with clotted cream and chocolate & orange but the scones are very popular too. They serve tea in pretty bone china teapots and cups - a nice touch.

This is a small shop and tea room just down the road from Headley Heath. Pluses: food and service fine, and the tea room is dog-friendly. There isn't anything negative I would say- it has a kind of olde-worlde feel with china cups and menus printed in copperplate font, which may not be to everyone's taste, and I thought that the food was a little expensive for what it was.

What a fantastic little tea room. We were heading to Box Hill for a walk and randomly came across the tea room. Very reasonably priced and a lovely menu. I had the Ploughman’s which was absolutely delicious- fresh soft and crispy bread, good quality ham, amazing cheese and chutney with a fresh salad and coleslaw. My boyfriend had a bacon, cheese and chutney toastie which was also very much enjoyed. The staff are really friendly and helpful. What a lovely local find! Just wish we had room for some cake! On a grey afternoon in late October I set out to find a village shop which sold local or relatively local produce - especially cheeses. I was lucky enough to find Headley Village Hall Stores and Tearoom in Headley Surrey. After a bit of fumbling the brass door knob reluctantly turned and I entered into a time-warp. Here was peace and quiet and homemade cakes and pastries! The lady/owner served me and her knowledge of the surrounding area was very interesting. The seating area was comfortable and very cosy! After consuming tea and cake which was very reasonable I purchased some local cheeses an the final bill including tea etc. was around £10. A very memorable visit.

We had a magnificent lunch here. It was faultless. The premises have been converted from a shoe shop (of long standing) very well and the atmosphere is good. The staff were friendly and efficient and the set lunch was excellent and very well presented. We were enjoying ourselves so much we had an extra course from the a la carte menu ( gorganzola and tarte tatin). I would thoroughly recommend a visit. It deserves to succeed.

Best roast! I recently had the pleasure of visiting The Yew Tree in Aylesford, near Hampshire, and I must say, it was one of the best roast dinners I’ve ever had. This charming pub excels in every aspect, from the warm, welcoming atmosphere to the truly outstanding food. The highlight, of course, was the roast dinner. The variety of meats on offer—chicken, lamb, and beef—ensures there’s something for everyone. I chose the lamb, which was tender, perfectly cooked, and served in a generous portion, far exceeding my expectations. The inclusion of sprouts, often overlooked in many roasts, was a delightful touch and prepared to perfection. The free cauliflower cheese was the cherry on top, adding a creamy, cheesy element to the meal without an additional charge—a rare and appreciated bonus. What sets The Yew Tree apart is the excellent balance of quality and quantity. Each plate is hearty, satisfying, and made with evident care. The roast is paired with crispy roast potatoes, rich gravy, and fresh vegetables, completing the experience beautifully. Overall, The Yew Tree delivers a flawless roast dinner, earning a well-deserved 10 out of 10. If you’re in the area, this is a must-visit for any roast lover!
