Restaurant Six in East Hampshire

Our favourite restaurant in Petersfield for special occasions. Expensive but we think it's worth it - tasty food, good selection of wines, intimate and cosy environment.

This is one of the best restaurants I have been to. The service is amazing and it is so quiet and intimate. The food was also incredible and there is a great wine list. Couldn’t fault this place, would definitely go back.

Myself and five friends visited for my friends 50th birthday in March 2024. Whilst the food was delicious, albeit tiny portions, we found the ambience and service lacking. As we entered the building we had to jump over a huge puddle right in front of the door. As we did, three of us cracked our heads on the beam above the door. Im only 5’7”! Two young waitresses were stood inside and watched as we all entered clutching our heads. They said nothing!! Not a great start. The waiting staff were very young and it felt like they were not experienced. The restaurant was chilly and we were sat close to another table. There isn’t room to swing a cat. Nowhere to hang coats except the back of your chair. The food is nice but I won’t be going back. For the price we paid I would rather go somewhere more professional with good atmosphere like the Ivy.

We had a big family birthday and booked the lunchtime tasting menu. We had vegetarian and gluten+dairy sensitive diners and I was much impressed with the thought that had gone into their adapted menus, which in no way detracted from the delicious dining experience for everyone. It felt a real treat and I would visit again in a heartbeat!

This is a lovely intimate restaurant with delicate well cooked and presented food. Service staff were friendly and informal but knowledgeable about the food. We had the lunch time tasting menu. This is my second time here and this was as good as the first. Will return again without hesitation.

Really enjoyed our evening at this superb restaurant. Perfect cocktails, excellent food, beautiful decor and comfortable too. Staff were relaxed and happy which makes for a lovely atmosphere. Would definitely recommend to anyone who enjoys delicious food.

Restaurant Six is an incredible restaurant, every dish is beautifully presented, and the menu offers a variety of options, catering to different palates and dietary preferences. The cozy atmosphere and impeccable services creates an amazing evening for any occasion. Highly recommend it to anyone looking to indulge in a fine dining experience.

This is the second time we have had an evening meal here and it does not disappoint - excellent taster menu with wine flight. Really enjoyed it - we will be back !

Pleasant experience, our first time here. Very nice atmosphere and husband and wife chef owners are doing a fantastic job. We had 3 starters and 2 mains, bottle of house wine for £110 include service. It’s not cheap but you do in my opinion get exactly what you are paying for.

This is the second visit to Restaurant Six. It is a small, well appointed restaurant with great decor, friendly and efficient staff and a wonderful ambience. The food is amazing: small plates of amazing flavours and textures. We will definitely be back.

First time at this restaurant and the reputation did not disappoint at all. We came for the a la carte menu for dinner and the food was probably the best I’ve had locally, everything looked so beautiful and tasted amazing. We were super impressed! The venue is gorgeous, such an intimate feel and cosy atmosphere with candles everywhere. Really nice to see the original features of the building on show too! The service was great, every member of the team was so friendly and familiar but not pushy at all, they knew what we needed from them. Would definitely come back here to try their sixperience and more desserts!

We had high expectations having searched for a fine dining restaurant north of Emsworth for several years… we weren’t disappointed. A beautiful building, tasteful decor, warm welcome and exciting menu. Three courses later we left looking forward to a return visit convinced Emsworth now has competition.

I was lucky enough to win a voucher for this restaurant in a charity raffle. We thought we would visit when they had their Christmas menu. It was such a warm welcoming atmosphere. Although it’s a small venue we weren’t disturbed by other diners. The service was very personal with all the dishes explained and beautifully presented. The food was absolutely delicious and a real dining experience. We feel so privileged to have this on our doorstep and if it wasn’t for winning the voucher we may not have got to experience it and now we will definitely visit again for special occasions.

Another amazing lunch and experience. Okay, maybe we were spoilt (in a wonderful way) by having the place almost to ourselves on a Saturday lunchtime, 18th Nov. But, the food and service was excellent. Petersfield should be very proud of Number 6 and make the most of it. Thank you very much.

We had a wonderful evening last night as a group of 8. The five course menu was delicious and beautifully presented. Wine very reasonably priced and can recommend the Argentinian malbec. The service was attentive and friendly. Well worth a visit and we will be back!

I love it when a place meets my expectations and on top of the delicious tasting experience, caters beautifully for the two in our party with food intolerences. Each had their own menu and were as satisfied as the rest of us...not an easy task! When can I go again...?

Fantastic food and service as always. On this occasion we had the December taster menu, all courses were delicious and prepared to perfection. Effortlessly cater for my food intolerance of wheat which is much appreciated. Highly recommend, best restaurant in Petersfield.

Great restaurant , food is great, as is the service. only slight criticism would be the lamb was a little chewy and was lacking flavour. Just the lamb , the rest of the dish was lovely. Lamb was cooked well though (rare) It was loin ,so obviously doesn't have flavour of Shoulder etc, But just seemed a bit average! We just had an absolutely delicious lunch here. I had baby squid which was seasoned to perfection and a big portion. My husband had scallops which were sensational. All our food was really excellent and much better than other restaurants of this type and definitely things I would never be able to make it home.

Definitely one of a small handful of excellent restaurants in the area. We've eaten here twice and had an excellent meal both times: creative, interesting food prepared excellently. I only deduct one star for ambience because if you are next to a large group table upstairs, it gets quite noisy, as happened to us once. And just a little more choice on the wine list would be perfect. But really a brilliant restaurant and now one of our favourites.
