The best restaurants in United Kingdom serving British food

We had our daughter’s 18th birthday party in the function room upstairs on Tuesday 18/2. I can’t praise the Nursery and particularly the staff enough. The room was perfect, perfect size with it’s own bar, and with tables prepared by the lovely lady ( really sorry we didn’t get your name) who was there on the day in the afternoon and the evening to help us set up the balloons we brought and the music. Also thanks to the resident dj who loaned the disco lights which completed a great atmosphere for our party. Special thanks to all the staff who helped us, particularly the lady who helped set up and the lovely lady working the bar on the night. Would highly recommend the function room but also the pub, great place, a hidden gem. Tim and Sindy.

We regularly use the garden centre and cafe and have always found standards excellent. However, our last visit was marred by finding hair in our food. The young man in the kitchen could be seen preparing food with his hair falling down over his face that day. We were rather appalled as standards have always been amazing from the look of the plants and gardens to the toilets which are spotless, everyone seems to take great care in their work, so we hope this is just a one off as it is our go to place for all things garden, the staff are super friendly, knowledge and very helpful. Perhaps the staff could be encouraged to wear the appropriate PPE in the kitchen and cafe. We will be back and hope that the unfortunate incident won’t be repeated .

Huge portions of well-cooked, quality food at very reasonable prices with large mugs of tea. Biker friendly with bikes always in the car park. My wife loved the tomatoes, mushrooms and hash browns. I had so much I had to take home a doggy bag!

Decided to visit today. First time in a long time. Both hubby and I had the full English breakfast. It was absolutely spot on. The ingredients were freshly cooked and tasted fresh too. On top of that the staff were very friendly and welcoming. We will definitely visit again very soon

Came here with my bridesmaids just for a dinner and drinks and the service was terrible. The husband and wife are rude, judgemental and shouldn't be working in hospitality with the attitude they have. Wouldn't recommend.

Estaba en Manchester por negocios y pensé en probar este lugar ya que había oído hablar de amigos que viven en la ciudad. El exterior del restaurante es muy bonito y fresco, con una pintura verde y flores pintadas, no te lo puedes perder. El menú está lleno de cosas deliciosas para elegir • Éramos tres y pedimos un montón de cosas. . . El plato mezze, los batidos de cerveza, los nachos -! El sabor y la presentación fueron excelentes. Los precios son razonables y el servicio fue amable y cortés. La decoración es sencilla con unas lindas mesas de madera. Una visita obligada para un almuerzo saludable?

Comimos pastel de queso y cebolla con papas fritas y un pastel de carne con papas fritas, una olla de guisantes y salsa. Llegó a 14, que parecía un poco empinado, sin embargo, ¡eran posiblemente las mejores tartas que hemos tenido de un chippy! El queso era un pastel individual con un delicioso pastel de mantequilla y el relleno perfecto. El bistec era una porción de una tarta grande, de nuevo pastelería perfecta y carga un relleno de bistec perfectamente cocinado. También obtuve un montón de papas fritas y también dieron en el clavo, al igual que los guisantes y la salsa. Vale la pena el dinero extra y definitivamente volvería si estamos en la zona.

I visited this morning the hotel to deliver something to one of the hotel guest where I received an excellent guest or stakeholder services by the reception member called Paul and one girl ambassador or receptionist at the hotel reception. They helped me out of the box which is very admirable. I found an impresive atmosphere and friendly communication between team members which indicates they have received a satisfactory training by the seniors. Really disappointing meal Visited for family dinner prior to a wedding Food arrived at the table warm at best, scampi and chips allegedly with garden peas. It was not well presented and the peas were a colour last seen when I had a school dinner many years ago. The restaurant area was dark and not what I had expected from a venue that promises a luxury wedding experience! Last orders were called at 21.30 Overall a poor and disappointing experience which was on a par with the poor quality accommodation we stayed in

Costa Coffee at henley in arden. i visiting daily for 4 years now. u can park on the road next to Costa or opposite for 2hrs free. i don't drink coffe, but my colleague does a they like it. staff is friendly. thank you

What a lovely little gem this place is 🥰 Called in for a breakfast catch up with a friend today. Lovely owner, very friendly, great service . We had the small breakfast which was cooked to perfection whilst we waited . A really lovely way to start the day without breaking the bank . Great value. Delicious food and good company , we will be back , thank you ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

While my daughter shopped I popped in here for an oat milk latte and was served by a woman who to be honest looked like she didn’t want to be there. I paid for my drink and waited patiently, the lady who was making the drink said it was ready. I politely asked if it was the oat milk latte and the woman who had taken my order barked at me that’s not what you ordered. I explained I ordered an oat latte and she snapped at me, that’s not what you asked for with a very stern look. I explained I don’t drink milk and I wouldn’t have asked for anything other than what I ordered. The lady then demanded another 60p from me which I proceeded to pay. I could see the woman who was making the drink was rather embarrassed and said it was ok to me. I won’t be returning here to be spoken too like that and she needs to learn some manner and put a smile on her face. Extremely disappointed .

Normally really impressed with service and value in Wetherspoons pubs, however, this was an exception. We ordered 2 pizzas and waited over 30 minutes for our food to arrive (usually Wetherspoons are really quick). When it did arrive, it was plonked in front of us with only a knife each, I realise lots of people eat pizza with their hands (as do I on occasions) however, it was quite a sloppy one, so we asked if we could please have forks. The server rolled her eyes and said she’d she what she could do, but it would be at least 10 minutes. To bring 2 forks??! After 10 mins we asked another bartender, who was polite, but could only give us 1 fork to share, as the others were being washed! Good job I hadn’t ordered a full English with beans. At the end I commented to a third bartender that we had only had 1 fork, only to receive another eye roll and sarcastic “sorry”. The pizza and drinks tasted good and were good value.

We visited as a family group for a special birthday afternoon tea and it was fabulous! The staff were brilliant, special requests noted, always attentive, they got it just right. The food was absolutely delicious, there was plenty of it, all spot on. Good value, we couldn't finish it all so they provided the bags to take it home. Special shout out for the scones, so light and still warm from the oven! Would definitely come again and highly recommend for a relaxed atmosphere is a beautiful setting.
