Always consistently good food, best plum tomatoes ever, staff generally happy and friendly, can get very busy, and the people that go there are nearly always happy friendly and chatty…. Fills you up for the day. Great value and very unique

Bubble and squeak fabulous, omelette huge and English breakfast superb value. We travel 50mins to get here for brunch whenever we can. Service great, staff friendly, establishment clean. If you want flowers on the table and silver service not here but value for money and tasty cooking is here in abundance.

Recently found this eaterie. What a place! No croissant, no frogs legs in aspic , no snails in garlic and no chateauneuf de pape. Oh, hang on . Its a transport cafe!!! They do good quantities of good food at a good price. What more could you want??

Its like being transported back to the 70's, in a bad way! Poor food quality/greasy spoon. Bikers deserve better!

Excellent value and quality, presentation 100%, staff very friendly, would have given it a 5 star but for the lack lustre coffee.

Just a note to say, I’ve been visiting the Chalet for years and it’s always been a great place to visit on a wonderful ride in fantastic countryside. On this occasion after another great breakfast I managed to leave my phone on one of the outside tables. I got all the way home before realising I’d left it behind. I’m true biker fashion some very honest person found it and handed it in and the owners looked after it until I was able to pick it up the following day. Frankly a life saver as I have a lot of reliance on my mobile and was lost without it. A massive thank you to the whoever it was that handed my phone in and to the owners of the chalet for looking after me in such a caring way. Fabulous cafe, fabulous people. Thank you!!!

I've visited this cafe a few times now as it is a great place to ride out to and meet other bikers, I was really shocked to see some of the bad reviews - great service and decent food although a little pricey in comparison to it's local rivals....

Excellent breakfast and filled the hole, always a winner and good value - don't expect gourmet but expect good honest food delivered with good old fashioned values by excellent staff Will of course return again....... when back in town

This family run cafe has been a regular eatery for myself and many of my biker friends over the past few years. The café is always very clean, the food is excellent and the staff are always friendly. I can't recommend it enough!

The family that run this cafe offer a substantial meal served quickly and a very good value. Always friendly and a great car park. In summer there are lots of tables outside. Usually busy Sunday mornings but still the service is excellent

Great little family run roadside cafe. Doesn’t pretend to be anything more than it is and if you want a traditional greasy spoon breakfast it’s spot on.

I take my elderly parents there every Sunday and they love it. My father has very limited mobility so they bring our order out to the car. They even cut up my dad's food before serving it up. It is so friendly and the bikers are a really sociable bunch too. It's not luxurious but it's a transport cafe. And a very good one. Highly recommended. Been coming here for nearly a year now. It can get busy when there's a London to Brighton event, but it is busy because it is so good!

I went care of a fussy local cabby who recommends many a good eaterie which I wholly support....well mostly!...yesterday I visited this restaurant and although it’s no ‘Sir Christopher Wren Edifice it’s in the Countryside massive car park and more importantly it’s food is wholesome.

Went in for breakfast with my husband and three daughters after a glamping weekend breakfast was amazing stalff were welcoming and couldn’t do enough for you breakfast was hot and “ better than mums” can’t wait to make a detour there again

Cafe is dull and needed a deep clean, ordered food and went outside, waited for a long time before food arrived. Food was warm at best, poorest quality of meat products, would not go back again. Suggest they invest in a lawn mower as the grass is so long.

Work day treat, a tasty breakfast. Went for the big breakfast 2 eggs, 2 bacon, 2 sausage, fried bread, tea and 2 slices of bread, lovely. Good quality bacon and eggs

Been many times and staff always friendly and good extensive menu. Classi cafe with everything you would expect from a traditional cafe. Cash only.

Love the food. The slightly caramelised bacon is the best about. The consistency of the fried bread collects all the delicious juices of the breakfast. Perfectly fried eggs. Crispy hash browns, can’t be matched. Always a great atmosphere with all the bikes about.

I often pop in here at the end of a Sunday ride. It's a handy meeting place on the right hand side of the A281 going south from Cowfold towards Henfield.

Good old English transport cafe that welcomes everyone. Eaten here so many times and never had a bad breakfast and is open 7 days a week. Good food with friendly staff and it even has an outdoor seating area.

Having been three times in the last couple of years I was hoping to find it might have improved a little, but sadly not. Poor quality sausages, stewed tea, cold toast. Indifferent service. If I hadn't been meeting friends there I would not have gone. Sorry, there are some great cafés around Sussex and this isn't one of them

Went to this cafe this morning with SCLOC Meet and a great bikers haunt as well as cyclist. Gets very busy. Breakfast was good but didn't like the coffee.

We meet here every month with a local car club - MX5's - and always a good old fashioned great british breakfast and even black pudding. Huge breakfasts including bread and butter and tea or coffee for a mere £7! It's that good, even the Police come here for sustenance!

Arrived with our Mini Club last Sunday for our Winter Brekkie Run. Cafe busy but well organised and didn't have long to wait for our breakfast which arrived hot and well presented. Great Atmosphere and friendly welcome

Good no nonsense food in a cheerful and friendly environment with lovely friendly staff and quick service. Lots of choice and they’ll accommodate most special requests you may have. Welcoming to kids, lots of outdoor seating if it’s dry and plenty of parking. I enjoy sitting here with a good old mug of builder’s tea and a paper. Does what it says on the tin.

This cafe is always packed ( I live locally ). So we have tried it twice. We were not disappointed. Between us we had one full English, rather large for me but hot, fresh and tasty. And a bacon sandwich, crammed with good bacon.

Popped in for breakfast. Sausage was very poor quality, deep fried and crunchy on the outside. Tea was poured from a giant teapot which obviously had been stewing for some time. The service was friendly enough, however it could not make up for the poor food. Will not be returning.

Sadly this cafe just gets worse and worse. I had a £7 breakfast. They used the cheapest ingrediants going, swimming in fat and over cooked. You can see the staff are no longer interested in providing a good service. It needs a GOOD clean. I can not recommend this cafe, truly appalling.

My bacon was cooked to PERFECTION! Staff were extremely friendly and welcoming, Would definitely recommend to anybody passing by!

Cannot believe the negative reviews I am in a state of disbelief. This cafe does THE best breakfasts and I've eaten in a fair few places. Lovely and friendly environment with such helpful and wonderful staff. Makes you feel right at home! Everyone I have recommended this cafe to has NOT been disappointed and visit time and time again. My favourite is the full English. They do the eggs just how I like and the sausages is are unbelievable. the bacon too is 10/10. I love the decor - it has a homely feel to it and all the other customers bounce of the positive energy and I've never seen someone not leave with a smile on their face. I love the chalet cafe and would highly recommend to anyone going by or wanting a delicious breakfast. Wouldn't go anywhere else! Love the chalet and cannot praise the staff highly enough. Service with a beaming smile.

plenty of people there , although no queue at the counter, ordered breakfast , took a good 20 mins to arrive , eggs not cooked enough , clear egg white floating around the plate , horrid catering sausages with very little pork content i should imagine, the rest was just as bad, even the brown sauce wasnt hp but some cheapo catering product,i have had many a biker breakfast and this is at the very lower end of the scale, shame really because its a good ride out around there

Visited the cHalet for a business meeting.THe place was packed.Food was very Good and fantastic value.Service was very good

I have called in here a couple of times for breakfast. Service has been excellent both times and the meals more than adequate. Sets me up nicely for the rest of the day. I will happily eat there again.

Took my 8 month old son in with me. Had a full English brekkie which was lovely. Great service and quick too !!! Child friendly so would highly recommend to anybody. :-)

Yes this is a transport café so please do not expect silver service. We pass here regularly on our way to surrey. We notice that it is busy most of the time. This time we stopped for an 11am breakfast. We did not need to eat again that day. I cannot believe how large the breakfast is. All freshly cooked and a decent mug of tea. not the cheapest but value for money. I would go again.

Ok, firstly its a TRANSPORT CAFE so don't expect michelin style service or food and leave bad reviews after. I've been coming here for years, it's been run by the same family for as long as i've known it. Compared to other transport cafes, and even more upmarket cafes the food is always very good - not the cheapest but certainly not the most expensive either. Breakfasts are great with generous portions and I highly recommend the fried potatoes ! Can be very busy , especially on Sunday mornings.

Popped into the Chalet Transport Cafe this morning for a bacon roll and cuppa. Arrived there at 9.30 and the place was buzzing with bikers and a really good atmosphere. Ample seating inside and plenty more outside with a good size car park at the rear. Pleasant staff who seemed to have a good system going to get the food orders prepared and served. This is a transport cafe so don't expect high end dishes on the menu. It serves decent food and the size of the portions offers value for money. Despite it being busy we only had to wait about 10 mins for our food to be brought out to our table. All freshly cooked and hot.Overall a good place to meet up and have cafe style food.

If you enjoy being greeted with 'What do you want?' And having your tea thrown into the cup with little care, then this is the place for you. I have come away from here with third degree burns on the roof of my mouth from your undercooked, boiling, scrambled eggs, and a slow but progressively sickening feeling of soggy toast sliding down my esophagus. I did enjoy having a giggle at the regulars describing your breakfasts as 'pretty good' though, so for that alone, I award you one star.Thanks, but no thanks.

We are group of bikers, we use to come here every week , but went down hill with quality of food, price and cleanliness ,not been here for year ,there are now different people running it ,but little has changed, still same worn out tables covered in green ,grass not cut outside ,£6.50 for breakfast .Won't be coming back !!!!!!!

We stopped off here on our way to Brighton for breakfast. We had such a warm and friendly welcome. It was really busy so had to wait awhile for our food but it was well worth the wait. The service was excellent and the food was lovely. The only thing that let's it down is that's there's no wifi there,but it is way out on the sticks! We will definitely be coming back again!

The service was very polite and the the food was good It was very good value for the money and portion size was huge and included tea or coffee with the breakfast the only slight niggle I have was it was cold in there and the toilet had no soap but that would not stop me going back again

Absolutely rammed when we arrived, with a car park full of classic Mini's. Took about 10 minutes to get seated and another 20 minutes to get our food, which wasn't bad considering how busy they were. Eggs, bacon, sausage, beans, fried slice, hash browns (as they'd run out of bubble and squeak) and black pudding. All cooked to order and delivered piping hot. My companions wolfed their food down too. Looking forward to a return there soon.

My dad, my son and I were all starving and this place was the only place open on a sunday nearby so we decided to give it a go. We only had chips but they were lovely. Felt a bit out of place as there were lots of bikers but they were nice all the same. Girl behind the counter was alright, looked as if she was chewing gum but took our order politely. Won't be my regular place of lunch but it's ok for a coke and some chips.

this is a old fashioned cafe, the staff are hit and miss ,it depends on what day you go. the food is of a average to poor quality , the prices are high and the condiments are cheap . there is little choice nearby , if your not fussy, hungry, rich, its ok for you

If you want a nice full english breakfast with tea or coffee included, you won't go far wrong here. Good quality food served by nice people.Lots of parking along with a few nice motorcycles and cars in the carpark.

Stopped at cafe today about eleven.when we enterd waitress on table having lunch waitress behind counter no hello how are you what would you like very un happy staff.asked for eggs on toast and had to explain what I wanted.food very poor eggs uncooked doors an tables sticky would not be going back in a hurry.

Tried this café some time ago and decided to return. Either the menu has been downgraded or management has changed ! Either way the food was dreadful. My wife and myself ordered a cheeseburger each which arrived in a French baguette ! The 'hamburger' resembled a thin spam like substance which was tasteless and covered with a goo that resembled oily cheese. The precious visit we enjoyed a 1/4ib cheese burger which was tasty and served in a bun. My wife left most of the burger on her plate. Being a transport café we do not expect the best however value for money wascertainly not on the menu.
