Normally really impressed with service and value in Wetherspoons pubs, however, this was an exception. We ordered 2 pizzas and waited over 30 minutes for our food to arrive (usually Wetherspoons are really quick). When it did arrive, it was plonked in front of us with only a knife each, I realise lots of people eat pizza with their hands (as do I on occasions) however, it was quite a sloppy one, so we asked if we could please have forks. The server rolled her eyes and said she’d she what she could do, but it would be at least 10 minutes. To bring 2 forks??! After 10 mins we asked another bartender, who was polite, but could only give us 1 fork to share, as the others were being washed! Good job I hadn’t ordered a full English with beans. At the end I commented to a third bartender that we had only had 1 fork, only to receive another eye roll and sarcastic “sorry”. The pizza and drinks tasted good and were good value.

We popped into the spoons after visiting Eltham Palace and Garden. It was a little pub but with loads of character. It’s the smallest wetherspoons in the chain. It has a smaller menu than the others but food was good. From ordering to table was quick, hot and tasty. Staff were really friendly to. Will visit again if in the area.

Been coming to this pub now for the past 6 months since I moved to Eltham & honestly can't fault it, it may be a Wetherspoons but it certainly doesn't feel like 1, it feels more like an old working mens pub which is the central hub of the town & me being from a Scottish Mining community felt right at home here. The girls behind the bar (Martin being the biggest girl) are awesome and you get some great Crack with them. I will say that there are a few comical reviews on here about the place 1 in particular being so negative and saying they will never eat in there again but yet are in all the time eating every other night but just looking for a freebie

We had breakfast here before a visit to Eltham Palace. It is the smallest place in the Wetherspoons family. The place was busy with locals when we arrived. The staff were friendly and efficient, service was prompt and the food was good and extremely good value for money.

The service at the bar was very slow and the Weatherspoon's app did not work, I fact it could not find the pub. The wait for breakfast was painfully slow. However when the food finally arrived it was well cooked and tasty. two breakfasts and drinks (non alcoholic) for under £11.00 is great.

I went up to the bar to buy a drink before joining my friends on a Friday evening. The bar initially wasn't too busy. There were 3 staff behind bar - one on the phone; one stocking up and one serving. The lady serving was very slow. Finally the woman stocking up stood up to help out [a fair while of time] she served me, but then answered the bar phone before taking my money. she then had to wait for her colleague to finish at the till before using her [shared] access fob. Meanwhile another customer turned up to order a very large round - I had to wait for him to order before finally I was given my change. When I joined my friends they jokingly asked where I'd been thinking I'd got talking to someone. Very disappointed with Wetherspoons as usually service good.

We stopped here for a coffee after our visit to Eltham Palace. It had a lot of regulars drinking there and we felt we were being stared at as we sat there? The draft is the smallest Wetherspoons in the country, you do have a number of regular customers who frequent the establishment on a daily basis and for a substantial amount of time. Never had any issues with them and have always been polite and courteous, had a few issues with “The Twitcher” coming in and accosting people to finish off their half eaten food and looking around attempting to finish off the slops!. I haven’t seen him in there for a little while as I think the bar staff have had enough of him having a twitch up and annoying paying customers. Always found the food and bar staff excellent. A big part of the community

Although I've lived in Eltham for years I had never visited the Banker's Draft. I put my head in the door years ago and it was full of old men and smoke, shows how long ago it was. Yesterday it was still full of old men but no smoke. We ordered breakfast, from a limited menu. It was a long time coming but it was tasty and well cooked. I've given 5 stars purely for the way the staff treated a customer with obvious learning difficulties. He was well known in the pub and treated with respect and consideration. Well done.

My boyfriends food came out about 10 minutes before mine did even though we ordered the same time. Food was okay, but a bit cold. I had the drive thru burger and my boyfried had the sweet chilli wrap. For a wetherspoons you get what you pay for I guess, but the Rising Sun up the high street is better.

I visited there last Friday, at about 2 pm, and can only say the place left me very disappointed. The was a man at the bar, he was loud, abusive, and constantly using language of an obscene nature. What baffles me is the man had obviously been there some time, and the 2 bar staff did nothing to stop this behavior, and must have thought it quite common. I asked one of the staff to do something, and all he said was that he would mention it after I left, obviously he thought there might be violence if he said something while I was still there. The other bar person said she was off duty, taking her break, and failed to see any problem in his behavior, even when the insults were directed at her, but if I wanted to complain, I should talk to the manager, Marie-Anne.I did a quick survey of the pub, and there were no families, and certainly no young children, but thinking about this, I now understand why.I think this is a management problem in that they need to consider very carefully the behavior of their clientele, and take appropriate action at a very early opportunity next time, How anyone can be allowed to become so drunk, abusive and antagonistic so early as 2 pm very much surprises me.

Not having had breakfast, needed an early lunch. Decided that perhaps the inside of the Bankers Draft might be better than the outside. Indeed it is. It is shabby inside BUT clean as are the toilets. They have, in addition to the normal pub food, a daily theme and Tuesday was Steak Club. You might think that steak, chips, peas, mushroom and tomato with a glass of something for £5.99 was going to be pretty dire. Oh No. Excellent food. Steak cooked to perfection. Chips light and crispy. A chilled glass of chardonnay for me a pint for the husband. Paid a little extra for apple crumble and ice cream for one. Not me, fat enough already. But the stars of this place, which is a Wetherspoons by the way, are the staff. Two ladies behind the bar and waiting tables. Friendly, efficient and helpful. The atmosphere in the bar is very relaxing. Very obviously has its regulars (one had a birthday on the day and was celebrating on his own). Please do not be put off by the outside of this place. Go inside, have a pint, have a meal - its a real treat. Just in case you are a faddy eater its: Mexican Monday, Tuesday Steak Club, Wednesday Chicken Club,Thursday Curry Club and Fish Friday. Imagine the scene- the pub goes deathly quiet as you walk in, just like in the film american werewolf , now you know what it was like for us! This spoons is full to the gunwals with locals! No food was being eaten at all despite the barmaid assuring me that they did. This was on a fish friday, never ever not seen any food eaten on one of these days! I ask for a cup of tea, should that be half a cup of tea, (see picture). We had the misfortune of having to sit near the disabled toilet tucked at the back of the pub. Our government has a severe problem if all the men who used that toilet in the half hour we were there were in any way disabled enough to not be able to go up the stairs! Ironically a person who had had a heart attack in recent history was using the upstairs toilets, beg to ask why?The place was clean enough and the staff courteous enough, but we had the distinct feeling of being watched all the time we were there, and not just by the staff. Perhaps unknown to me my hair had turned green and warts had appeared on my face! Or maybe it was because i am a female and this pub was definitely a male domain. The toilets are upstairs (only 2) didnt flush very well, but were passably clean. The fire exit door is used by customers as a quick exit for a fag break. Not a family pub by any stretch of the imagination.
