We wanted a nice brunch together after a visit to the vets nearby, but we had our dog with us. We were delighted to find this cafe that made it clear dogs were welcome inside. Husband had a full English and said it was particularly good. I had some tasty cheese on toast which was just what I fancied, and something which you can’t always get. Finn, our collie, got his own bowl of water once we’d sat down, and ordered his own special portion of chopped sausage and black pudding. He didn’t give a review. He was too busy inhaling it. The new owners haven’t been here long, but I wish them well and hope to be passing by again soon.

The Sunday roast beef lunch was so small we thought it was a child's portion. 3 very small paper thin slices of bought in slice beef from the supermarket if it weighted 3oz you would be lucky. The plate arrived with Yorkshire pudding hiding the slices with the gravey on it but we then waited for the veg by which time all had gone cold. This was a complete Faulty tower. You couldn't make it up. Will certainly not be going back. And £18 for a cheap bottle of wine. NOT A PLACE TO VISIT.

We have used Edward’s before and not been disappointed on this occasion we felt service was on the slow side, food was lukewarm and £2 extra for one rasher of bacon, yes I know it was my choice, bet seriously, one rasher of bacon?

Our friend who is a disabled pensioner and regular customer had a hospital appointment and was taken by a hospital driver arrived back 25 minutes before opening. She had lunch arranged with friends the driver knocked and the landlord told him not opening for 25 minutes. Ended up with an eighty plus disabled pensioner waiting outside in this weather for that time. You could have at least let the lady have a seat inside you did not have to serve her. You should be ashamed of yourself and feel totally embarrassed. I hope that people read about your lack of hospitality, when we come down to visit you have lost our custom

My hubby and I went here for his birthday meal last night. We were the only ones in there. There wasn't much on the menu. We'd only had a couple of sips of our drinks and we wanted to leave. It was more like a youth centre than a pub and that was just the owners and their friends. They were VERY loud and messing around, so annoying and not professional at all. Such a shame they have ruined a lovely relaxed pub. Let's hope somebody decent takes over. We ended up in Madras Spice, we should have gone there in the 1st place but we wanted to give The Rising Sun a go, never again while the current owners have it. AVOID.

As foodies we’re always looking to find somewhere better than what we consider first class dining and today we’ve found a new favourite. Sunday lunch perfection perfectly cooked fresh vegetables every mouthful was a delight if you’ve not tried the Pelcomb Inn then your missing out. Cannot fault anything food service and atmosphere. It’s nice to visit somewhere that supports my band I like to repay the compliment well done Nicky. 3MJB

I love this pub! So friendly, you can talk to anyone in here, there is an everyday burger menu (the burgers are soooo good!) and then other pop up nights that are awesome too! Sonia, the landlady is super welcoming and loves to chat, this is a place where people go to interact with others, not just stare at their phones! Predominantly it’s a rugby pub, but they will put football on if asked. Other nights include pizza night, open mic, karaoke, live music and bands. There is a nice quiet beer garden out the back that has just had a lovely new decking installed. Well worth a visit if you are in high bickington, a proper country pub with friendly people!
