Arranged to meet friends here for a lunch and a catch up. This is a very popular visit with very pleasant surroundings through a very large conservatory contributing to a very well lit area. There are a number of tables within the conservatory and your extensive menu is on the table. There are hot and cold food choices ordered at the server and brought to your table. We opted for chicken and rice soup and tomato and vegetable soup. To accompany the soup we ordered cheese and onion toasties and cheese and ham. We had carrot cake put aside for later that was the last of it. The chicken soup had a distinct homemade stock flavour with generous amounts of chicken through the rice and veg. The toasties came with crisps and side salad and coleslaw on the side. They were very well cooked with a generous filling. Finally the piece de resistance the home baking carrot cake came bursting with flavour very moist and topped with a very sweet icing. Would not hesitate to recommend to anyone and will definitely be back.

Ordered breakfast roll with two fillings - the bacon was hard to chew and the black pudding was miniscule ( cut thinly from the top of the pudding stick ). Further the price of the roll at £3.90 plus £ 1.00 for the black pudding was excessive.

Just been for breakfast to find this place has had a refresh and sadly not for the better. The food used to be really good quality, but was very disappointed by the change. I ordered a bacon roll which used to come on a nice soft roll with a side of potato chips and chutney. Now it comes a cheap crusty roll on its own, which I could have got from the local bakers or shop for a fraction on the price. Prices have gone up and quality dropped, a change isn’t always for the better!

This place has been around since before I was born. The primary business is a garden centre, and it's a quite good medium sized family run garden centre. A good gift shop, slightly more unusual stock than your average places these days. A useful visit. The coffee shop, is excellent. It's small, it gets busy in the summer. However, the food is actually conspicuously good. A local hidden gem. The Fairleys special burger is the nicest one I've had in some time, and the cheesecake was to die for. Friendly staff, nice surroundings, clean toilets, good infant change and disabled access for the cafe.Between Kincardine and Dunfermline, I'm struggling to think of another coffee shop that comes close. I'm a local of 40 years, worth a visit.

Sin nuestro conocimiento mi marido había subido al mostrador y me pidió una grande. Cuando llegó era de no más de una media taza! ! He estado por todo el país en muchas tiendas de café y nunca he pagado este para lo que es esencialmente un café con leche fría. I bought two brackets for friends, which didn't fit them even though they have tiny wrists, so I called Laura the owner and she said she could give me an exchange. I asked for a refund instead as there were only small sizes in view at the store which doesn't suit me. She suddenly changed tone and started screaming down the phone at me which I found very rude and upsetting. As I tried to calm down the situation she told me not to tell her how to run her business and hung up on me! Very bad customer service and I think the store is bias as they only show size 8. This place is AWFUL. I will never shop here again and I am telling everyone in the area not to. This last Saturday, we had just picked up our itty, bitty new puppy (no bigger than a hairbrush) and walked in the store and asked RIGHT AWAY at the counter "Is it ok if we shop for a few minutes if we hold her the entire time" (we couldn't put her down on the floor anyway, she is too tiny) and the lady behind the counter said "sure, no bother, just stay out of the tea room". So we went around happily and even 4 random shoppers stopped awww'ed and patted her tiny head, After about 20 mins we had gathered a basket of about 5 items (totalling £50 or so) and were by the front of the shop looking at the candles (which I was going to buy about 3 - another £30) when this RUDE, LOUD, HORRIBLE MAN came up to my husband and shouted "NO DOGS ALLOWED - GET OUT". He was so rude we were actually shaken. Then I spoke to the owner who was just as RUDE. Do not go to this store!!

Went for steak night but extremely disappointed. Asked for medium steak but was more rare.Few soggy chips, hard peas and two underdone soggy onion rings. No salad as advertsed. Food was also cold. Asked for a prosecco and was told had no cold ones . Was given small one off top shelf behind bar but when I opened it it was completely flat and very yellow so I think it must have been on the shelf a long while! Lady opened big bottle which again came from top shelf so was not cold but was bubbly. Can't believe there was no bottles in wine fridge. Sticky toffee pudding was good though. Seeing as there was just one other couple in the restaurant there really was no excuse for steak meal being so poor as kitchen not rushed. Won't be rushing back!!!

Great location on the Old Course. Beautiful modern terrace on the top floor with stunning views across the fairways to the sea. So wanted to like this place but were disappointed. Food was standard golfing fare - steaks and lobster - OK but nothing special . Wine list reasonable for price and choice. What lets the place down is the lack of management oversight. Tables with broken legs, jet lagged golfers asleep in the lobby, incredibly noisy ambience all overseen by a well meaning but overwhelmed serving staff. Not what you expect when paying $400 for a meal for two. Dinner took three and a half hours. We had to track down staff to order wine, coffee and get the check. Could be a good dining alternative to the Old Course Hotel but its let down badly by the service. Seems its owned by one of those absentee investment companies and it shows .

Had afternoon Tea today(Sunday). The view is stunning, overlooking the golf course and the Forth. We had to wait around 10 minutes and received 4 types of sandwiches, a plain scone and fruit scone and a variety of cakes. The scones were some of the best I’ve ever had- warm from the oven, the cakes were light. We received a bottle of water and large pot of tea but had to ask for glasses. The toilets were a bit more dated than the restaurant but clean

When the weather turns cold, shops closed, you don’t want a restaurant, just a cuppa, Alexander and George will make you welcome. Enticed by the chips! Feel much better now. Thanks guys!

What a venue !! Charming with a historical room to be seen to be believed (clipper room) ! I cannot say enough about the owners and staff who made me feel welcomed and could not do enough ! I was there for a music gig with friends and the music room venue was brilliant , atmospheric and intimate ! The hotel is in a lovely location with historical sites , coastal walks and a golf course nearby.
