The hot drinks were fine, the cake didn't taste as nice as it looked and there weren't that many to choose from, although it was later on in the day so maybe some had sold out. The service when we first went in was very friendly from the man behind the counter. But the girl who came to the table barely said a word to us as we ordered and as she brought our order, it almost felt like we were an inconvenience. Our orders did arrive very quickly though. We didn't try any of the other food, the salad ingredients on display looked nice and fresh.

Visited for breakfast yesterday morning (Saturday). It's our usual haunt for brekkie when we're in London. The food is always nice witht the quality of the produce being top notch. Yesterday's meal however was completely ruined by the staff trying to make as much noise as possible, loading and unloading the dishwasher with no regard for the complete racket they were making. Their continuous chatter amongst themselves on clearly non-customer issues did nothing to enhance the experience.

What a day! A really packed Christmas London that makes you tired just thinking of it....so a little Oasis of calm, containing the makings of tea is just what one needs for a break from the chaos. Scotts sort of provided this, they too were very busy, but the pleasant waitress soon saw to it that we had tea and a delicious, oven baked potato in front of us within minutes. The portion was generous and mine came with a little side salad, though my partner got none, but she had asked for TWO toppings. No teapot was a bit of a shame as the cafe claimed specialist teas, but there was only a choice between Earl Grey and breakfast tea, but it was a decent brew. Overall, very nice, but I rate it average because the little details got overlooked.

Decided to pop to Covent Garden this morning as I used to do weekly for many years before I had my precious baby 2months ago! Today has been one of those days every mother needs once in a while a treat of getting out a little and having some retail therapy! During my stroll round the beautiful shops with my 2month old baby, I felt hungry and it was time for baby to feed... So where else could I go to than the most inviting, friendly, warming atmosphere one could ask for... Scott's!!! I mean what a place..From the cleanliness of the shop, the helpful staff (who went above and beyond to meet my needs with baby), the polite owner of the shop who recognised me even though I had not been for few months. Oh my...did I miss their freshly made food and beautiful scent of fresh coffee in a relaxed environment. Food is Above and beyond anyone else around Covent garden. Quality, Portion size, Variety all Top notch. The fillings in anything you get are superb.I could not DISAGREE more with the last comment!! the food is excellent value for money, nobody I have been there with has ever been disappointed. The jacket potatoes themselves are among the best in the west end (believe me, I have shopped around) however, the amount they charge for a bit of salad on the side... or a spoonful of sweetcorn on the tuna is absurd. The man who makes the sandwiches (Scott perhaps?) is friendly and makes a good sandwich... however the female members of staff are SO RUDE. Particularly nice in the summer, with a little outside seating caught in the morning sun trap.Today we arrived at the height of Lunch Time, although not full for seating had a steady (permanent!) queue for Takeaway - clearly, the Local Workers know a good thing when they see it.We just had a sandwich, which at £7.20, on the face of it, a little pricey - but what a sandwich! I no longer work in London but when I am nearby I always try to pop in for lunch or a coffee. I would highly recommend it to someone looking for a reliable and tasty cafe/sandwich shop. You will not leave hungry! One point to note that this is not an American diner, so if you want a "have a nice day" with your coffee and a fake smile then look elsewhere. We stopped off for lunch after a visit to the National Gallery. It looked clean, bustling and there were a couple of tables free. Once we'd sat down (a bit of a feat with tables rather densely packed) the menu was a bit disappointing. A good range of meat options, but the vegetarian options were limited to baked beans or cheese, and no choices of cheeses. Hungry and not wanting to spend too long looking for somewhere else we settled on baked potatoes, one with beans, one with cheese...The food arrived very quickly, and the potatoes were huge - no complaints over the portions, or the service. The potatoes came with a token side-salad - more of a garnish, but you didn't really need more. The potato skins were crispy, and the insides well cooked - very bland cheese was the only downside.Staff were friendly, coffee was decent (and a good sized cup), prices weren't unreasonable for London.

I used to live in Coventry Garden and I was a regular at this place. It served good quality food at very reasonable prices, with breakfast being a real high point. I am now an out of towner but whenever I visit my old haunts I will always drop in for lunch or breakfast. Had a fantastic breakfast there today, the full Monty. Good quality ingredients, well cooked at a good price. Before we were served our food my OH showed me the review which said that they had been served mouldy bread. I was a bit worried by this and inspected my toast accordingly when it arrived. There was absolutely nothing wrong with it, great doorstop toast. It is consistently good, the jacket potatoes are great, particularly the home made chilli. My only criticism, they jacket pots are often not ready at lunchtime which causes me severe disappointment as I am usually looking forward to it. (Get the tats on earlier!!) This area has a multitude of cafés selling overpriced bad quality food. This cafe shines out in a sea of dross. The owner of this establishment is running this place well, enjoys banter with his regulars, and the waiting staff are cheery and efficient. I have been coming here for a few years when working in the area, I'd have to say it is probably one of the best sandwich/lunch eateries in London. There are a range of fillings and of course some things you can choose to be made up. Helpings are hearty and ingredients are quality. They do great salt beef and the jacket potatoes seem popular. But it's the other little things which make the difference. The effusive, friendly greeting. The fact the owner knows my "usual" order even if I only go once every couple of months (how does he do that?!). The spotlessly clean interior. And an exterior decoration and permanently clean windows which I think show these guys care passionately about their business.

This little place was recommended to is bg a friend as a pitstop for our recent day trip to London. The sandwiches are lovely, gorgeous fresh bread and loads of filling in it! My only criticism would be the amount of tables crammed in makes it hard to move anywhere without either getting stuck while the waitress takes someone else's order OR hitting someone on the head as you pass! However thid kind of adds to the character... we will be back!

During our visit to Covent Garden we walked further afield and visited Scotts for coffee. £2.80 for a very large cup of Americano with milk which is good value. I can't comment on the food - apart from it all looked tempting especially the cakes. THe one minus side was the stone flooring. I don't know if we were unfortunate in being there at the same time as a lot of noisy people who peristed in scraping their chairs and causing a lot of loud noise for the whole of our stay. My friend sat with her fingers in her ears for most of the time as thenoise was very loud to her hearing. Friendly staff good prices, breakfast and lunch menues, take away available and great looking food. Give it a try!

I work near to this place and it's my go-to place for lunch, either to grab a sandwich to take back to the office or for a quick lunch with local friends. Everything is so fresh, made how YOU want it and the service is not just great but personable - the main man in charge asked my name once and has remembered it (and other peoples') ever since. I can't recommend this place high enough not just for a sandwich, huge salads and baked potatoes. It says it all when people are queuing around the corner IN THE RAIN to eat here!

While staying in London for a few day recently, we didn't really rush to get up and out. The day we went to Covent Garden we arrived around 10.30 and found Scott's for a late breakfast. There was a huge choice of items all freshly cooked and served with a pile of hand cut hot toast. Yummy!! The coffee was good as well!!Wouldn't hesitate to return when in the area again.

Tucked away not far from Leicester Square and Covent Garden, this place is a real gem for either take away food, or a sit down snack lunch. Fast and efficient service, good no-frills food. Really excellent value. Queues out the door at lunchtime, so popular with locals and business people.Toilets are down a steep staircase, so not very accessible, otherwise excellent. Clean, efficient, and you won't be fleeced here ! Limited number of tables but there is a fairly fast turnaround.Have eaten here so many times, but if you want fancy /pricy food, go elsewhere.

On a shopping trip to Covent Garden we needed somewhere for lunch and stopped here. My friend has allergies and can't eat herbs and just asked for a plain jacket spud with cheese and butter. I had jacket spud with honey mustard chicken. Very large "proper" jacket potatoes (nice crispy skins) with nice large cups of decent tea for around £14.00 which was alot less than we were expecting for the area.

Stopped by Scott's two consecutive days while on a leisure trip to London. We only happened upon this great little place by chance as we hunted for somewhere to eat a late (ish) breakfast. Sampled the full English (or a #4 on the menu as its known) delightful, filling and delicious fresh produce is used and presented with probably the best toast we've ever had. The breakfast element of the menu is served through to 11:30am, so if you're a late riser, or like us just taking it easy, then this is a fantastic place. Don't plan to eat any lunch elsewhere, as one of their full Englishes will see you right through to suppertime! Location: Scott's is right on the corner of New Row and Bedfordbury which is approximately halfway between Leicester Square and the former fruit and vegetable market in the central square of Covent Garden.

Had good lunch there, great place to meet up. Yummy wrap toasted with goats cheese, rocket and chutney - fantastic quality and so reasonable for central London. On the edge of Covent Garden, not far from Trafalgar Square. Wish I'd had room for the home made Capuccino Cake but I was full - shame - looking forward to returning.

Scott's is my regular retreat of delight! The essential ingredients of a superb sandwich bar form an enduring trinity, from the superb food, cakes and coffee, affordable prices being in the heart of London, to the fresh, comfortable and welcoming surroundings from the moment you enter the door! Their sandwiches are exquisite, with more than enough delicious filling in them,no matter which one you choose. Clean, efficient and friendly, everything I would expect on a lunch break or after a hard days work! Never been disappointed! Keep up providing London with top quality food!! Would recommend 100%

Sunday morning was spent in Scott's Sandwich Bar as the outcome of over indulging on the budget on a weekend in London and therefore deciding a cheap eat breakfast was called for! Based in Covent Garden we entered this cute little cafe which was a warm welcome relief from the cold. The menu is cheap and cheerful but you can be assured this is not reflected in the quality of very tasty food. The sausages were delicious and the fresh white bread are classic 'door stopper' slices. SO so good. It's not fancy inside and looks pretty basic but for £15 total it was ideal. For £15 in London we got 2 large cups of tea and 2 full breakfasts. Just what we needed! Would definitely recommend.Just a side note the reason I haven't given this 5 stars is because there were 2 waitresses working, one of which was more interested in her phone than providing any level of service. No welcome, no eye contact and when we came to pay she summed up the value and held out her hand.

We ate at Scott's on a Saturday morning after a night at The Waldorf Hilton. We wanted a cheaper breakfast option and found Scott's in Covent Garden.I had bacon, egg, mushrooms and toast with a cappucino. My husband had sausage, egg, bacon, tomato and a cup of tea. It was cooked to perfection, the restaurant was immaculate, (the kitchen is open to view) and the service was friendly. The two breakfasts came to around £10 plus drinks. It was great value for money in central London. My husband's only complaint was he was expecting tinned tomatoes and he got a fresh one. (He's a little old-school!)All in all, it hit the spot and set us up for an energetic day walking around London. The deli bar was set up for lunch, and that looked great too. I would highly recommend this place.

Went to tea at the Ritz and was not impressed. The scones were not good and not really scones. Ch and F&M offer better tea experience. Table setting and chairs were very cramped. Service was just ok.
