Adding a service charge of £15…. The food was not worth the money!!! Belly pork was so hard that you couldn’t cut it. The sticky toffee pudding was a slither and was missing the ice cream.. £7.50 rip off, I would go as far to say that the whole meal was a disappointment, would definitely not go there again!!!

My wife and I wanted a quick dinner and found Joe’s plaice was just down the roads. I ordered one large and one small F&C and received a huge piece of haddock and a mountain of chips, and a good sized small dinner - all freshly cooked. Portions of peas and gravy similarly generous and the whole was really excellent. My only comment would be that real brewed malt vinegar would have been better than the “non brewed condiment” - acetic acid with brown colouring, but that’s almost universal in F&C shops now. Well worth a visit.

We sometimes stay at the hotel and have now tried eating at the restaurant twice. On both occasions we have been sorely disappointed. We had lunch there today and tried a mushroom tagliatelle served with garlic bread. The foods not cheap at 15 quid a go and we were expecting something decent. The first issue was that my garlic bread was cremated so I sent it back. Secondly the whole plate was so bland it was almost tasteless. If you are serving a pasta dish with mushrooms at its centre it needs to sing with the rich taste and interesting textures of mushroom, it needs to be well seasoned, it can be so very good. This dish was none if those things. I did say to the restaurant staff that it was pretty underwhelming but they seemed fairly blasé about the fact. In most good restaurants such poor feedback would illicit serious concern and possibly the attention of a restaurant manager, not so in the copperplate. I can only assume that they care little about the quality of their offering or there is no process for dealing with complaints. Considering a three course meal for two with a bottle of plonk is going to run to three digits in this place it’s really not good enough and I could not recommend.

Nunca he tenido una mala comida.

We ate here twice in our week staying locally Once a take away and once to eat in An added bonus is the happy hour with cobra lager at £3.80 a pint between 5-7 The food is exceptional with your usual Indian staples and some not so usual items on a very interesting menu Would highly recommend 👍

We had expected to have trouble finding a restaurant with a free table as today is Mothers' Day. There was an empty table here and as they were serving roast lamb we went in. The lamb was lean and there was a good selection of vegetables and new potatoes. For dessert, we both had a large slice of a delicious sticky toffee pudding, one with a very generous portion of ice cream and the other with custard. With a glass of wine too, the bill was very reasonable.
