You can come in there for years always great chips great staff and always friendly and very very good value for money will be returning

An absolute gem of a place , visiting Daughter in AINSDALE , twice we went to busy bees . Outstanding Cod & chips , Chinese meals very good too! , very reasonably priced with great chatty friendly staff, highly recommended if your in the area .

Our regular go to chippy. We drive past others to go here. Haddock and chips are regularly ordered Their curries are good as well Fish cakes, mushy peas, all are good We haven’t tried their kebabs We have tried some of their Chinese on occasions We have always enjoyed whatever we have ordered We will continue to drive past the competition as they simply do not compare.

We were "treated" to a Chinese takeaway by friends, we all chose different meals. I had the hot and sour soup which was bright pink and tasted just as bad. The duck I ordered was mostly skin, barely any duck to be found. I tasted all the other dishes, they were all pretty bad, the only nice one was lemon chicken which is why 2 stars and not 1. Thankfully I didn't pay but I certainly won't be ordering from this place.

Food delivery service used. When the food arrived, it was poor quality and not hot . The sweet and sour chicken was dry and overcooked, the rice wasn't hot, it was congealed and unpleasant ... see photo. The chicken chow mein was barely warm but did taste good. I will not use this takeaway again as food is never consistent. We have enjoyed some of their food in the past, but quality is so variable, prefer not to waste money on food that gets thrown away.

I have been using Busy Bees for the past 5 years and this is the worst and over priced special fried rice I have had the misfortune to purchase, with the added joke that it is still cash only let’s hope HMRC are reading this!!!

I picked it up in person but it was cold when I got home 2 minutes on my bike they said it was hot when they gave it to me I don't think so expensive unedalble terrible customer service straight in the bin

Went in to order meals for the family, only to be told cash only. NO Cards,?????? Find this rather odd in the modern world of today. What could ........possibly be the problem with taking card payments???????????????

The woman in there is fowl mouthed and obnoxious to the other staff. The food is less than average. Would not ever go there again.

This place used to be so good and reliable, but it has gone downhill so rapidly in the past 12 months. I don't know if they are cutting corners to save on costs, but I would rather pay a bit more for the food they used to serve. Last few times we have been the chips were awful, some of the food seemed to have been kept warm for so long it had attained the texture of leather and the fish was inedible. Been going for over 30 years, but never again under current management.

We stay in Ainsdale regularly and always visit Busy Bee. It's very convenient to the Caravan site we stay at (Willowbank),so no messing around cooking! It's a chippy but does Good Chinese too.

Not to far from us and the best around. Always worth the trip even if there is a que Good selection of English and Chinese on the menus and reasonably priced

As we didn't want to cook , dicided to go on Just Eat for our meal . Picked our food put and our order got accepted great . A few minutes later got a massage saying your order has been cancelled as we cannot make it . So picked Busy Bee to try, so we duplicated our order. It came on time , but not what we ordered, disappointed as payed extra for Fryed rice and got boiled instead ,curry didn't look like Chinese curry at all more like Madras. As the restaurants get a print out why do they not read it ?? Can I have salt and vinegar on the chips please.

Not great !!!! Missed a chips off order, tiny portions Gravy tasted funny,chips tastless,well overpriced!

We went there for a chip barm and meat and potato pie. Served the customer in front that handed over a lot of coins and then passed some coins back and then without washing his hands or sanitising them decided to play around with my food handling my barm cake and slid is hand in the bag to split it to put the barm in. I threw it away when I got down the road as. I was nearly sick through the thought of putting it in my mouth. Just hope you don’t give someone coronavirus. Disgusting.

Have been here a few times recently and honestly can’t fault it. Staff are lovely, always friendly and polite, food is always so nice, never greasy, even the specials are reasonably priced, haven’t tried the fish yet but can see it’s very popular, will definitely will be back.

I love this chippy for food but really hate to watch how the owner treats his staff. He is so rude and obnoxious to his staff. It’s like going back 20 years or really back to Dickensian times ! He actually pushes them and snatches things from they’re hands !! He so lucky no one has challenged him

Been coming here for years and I will still say that this is the best fish and chips I have EVER had. Every time I eat somewhere new, I always find myself comparing it to the Busy Bee’s. This is by far the best I have ever eaten. The batter wasn’t soggy; it was crispy and just had the right amount. Staff are also sweet and friendly.

The food here is terrible. I realize a lot of locals love this franchise and I realize their taste buds also crave the taste of canned beans, tomatoes and toast everyday for years at a time. I also realize these same people will have Mcdonalds with their kids for dinner every night.I thought I would try this place because it is always busy and while the fish is edible, the chips are garbage, The sauce it was given with was some kinda fruit curry sauce. I asked the manager what is this fruit curry sauce and he laughed at me and slapped my hat off. That is assault but I let it go because garbage food and ignorant cooking goes hand in hand. I do not fault people with no taste buds because even fools require sustenance.

The chips and curry were top notch! The service took quite a while but considering this was on a busy New Year’s Eve that was not too much of an issue.

Been eating here since I was a kid. Always drop in at least once when I’m back seeing the parents. The chips are the best I’ve ever had, and I’ve lived all over the country. Big respect.

I called into this once excellent fish and chip shop after a long day, wanting some good fish and chips. Over many years the fish had been of excellent quality, well cooked and fresh and I expected the same this time. Sadly the fish was nothing like what had once been the norm., smaller and with a thick layer of soggy wet batter under the outer crust. Good service but a poor product. What a shame such a great place has been allowed to loose such an advantage over its competitors.

It's a decent chippy, also serve a good Chinese menu and burgers , fish are massive! Friendly staff accept phone orders, don't deliver as far as I know.

This place was recommended to me by a couple of people so gave it a go. My first experience a few months ago wasn’t good but I was assured by friends that it was not normal and to try again. Tonight my friend and I ordered haddock and chips twice. The haddock was cooked fresh for us but I noticed that after dipping it in the batter he pretty much scraped it off with his hand. The result was virtually no batter on the fish. This meant that with no batter to protect the fish the fish was virtually inedible. What should have been moist fish was hard and over cooked. The chips were not good either. At least half of them had ‘bad’ bits in them. I don’t know why anyone could rate this as good fish and chips as it was pretty much the worst fish and chips my friend and I have ever had. Most of it ended up in the bin. My friend used to work near Ainsdale and said he used it regularly as it was so great. He was so disappointed and said it has really gone down. I gave you two chances and I won’t be coming back again.

I visit 5his fish and chip shop on a regular basis. The food is always fresh and the fish is magnificent and usually massive. The staff are great and friendly and food would have no hesitation in recommending this chip shop

called up the other day as i was on a 30 minute lunch break , i was met with a indian man continuously shouting slander at me at first i though i called the wrong number but he continued to tell me to F**K off . i understand this may of not been directed at me though i continued with the phone call and asked for my order. later on i went in a picked up my delivery and it was no better

The best fish and chips I've had in years, lovely fresh fish and non-greasy chips. Very good value for money. Nice friendly staff.

When around Southport we always head here for our fish & chips. Great portions and always fresh and hot too. Do a great Chinese takeaway too !

I go to the Busy Bee when I want quality fish and chips - they have a very extensive menu of take away food and I've been reliably informed that their selection of chinese food is very good. I will only comment on the fish and chips - they are, from week to week, excellent, consistently excellent. The food is very good value and the staff are friendly and efficient - I'm new to the area and am so pleased that I have such a good fish and chip shop on my door step - keep it up you guys.

We have used this "chippy" for nearly 25 years. They also do Chinese food which is also very good. Friendly, and efficient staff.

At first I wondered why my mum and dad travel all the way from Formby to ainsdale for their fish and chips when there are plenty of eateries in Formby, but the busy bee has proven that the quality of their food makes it worth the travel!

I frequently have chippy dinners from the busy bee in ainsdale, can count on them to have fresh hot food every time, and they've never got a phone order muddled like I've experienced elsewhere. I went along tonight after a long day in Liverpool and the fast service was just what I needed. My sausage dinner was nothing but perfect. 10/10

Went into the Busy Bee last night for the first time. There was a number of people waiting for food in there so I waited patiently. After waiting for about 15 minutes to be served I went up to the man serving and placed my order (just a fish!). He told me rather loudly that I had pushed in and that I need to get to the back. If it hadn't been for a lady who had been waiting with me telling him that I was next I would have left. The way he spoke to me was unacceptable.

I'm sorry to report that our takeaway tonight was very bland and most of it went straight in the bin.

Always good food. Fish amazing, fruity curry great. Portions large and not dripping in grease. Immaculate and clean

We were wondering what to have for a snack and walking passed noticed someone had some nice looking chips so I decided I fancied some, the lady and gent behind the counter had a big smile and were genuinely lovely. Food was instant and totally fresh, the chips were non greasy and the oil must have been fresh, they looked bright and crispy on the outside but were lovely and soft in the middle. I've sat down watching the world go by. The food was reasonably priced and everything was clean looking, 5 for food hygiene too. I was just thinking what a nice experience from start to finish for something as simple as a chippy lunch with decent coffee. Spot on, I'll be coming back again.

Had a banquet take away from this place and was pleasantly surprised. Great food and good prices. All food tasted fresh and of great flavour.

This little chippy in Ainsdale village contains all types form fish and chips kebabs and Chinese takeaway good value for money and the servings are a good size too

He visitado este "fish and chips" muchas veces en los últimos 15 años y nunca me ha decepcionado, el pescado es el bacalao o abadejo, creo que solían hacer solla pero ahora no en el menú. El pescado siempre es excelente lo que decida y las patatas fritas son igualmente buenas. Que la coherencia es importante si vas a decir un lugar es el mejor de la zona y este lugar ofrece cada vez. El aparcamiento es a veces un poco difícil aquí porque el lugar siempre está tan ocupado siempre que llamo, así que creo que habla volúmenes pero la buena noticia para mí es que volveré allí en un par de semanas ya estoy de vuelta en la zona.

No es nuestro lugar favorito para pedir, ya que tienden a ser un poco aburrido y se pegan a la misma comida de las tiendas chip. Patatas fritas son secos, arroz frito está bien, pero el curry es horroroso! No puedo valorar nada más ya que no he probado nada más, pero creo que es gente de uno de los mejores así que ¿quién soy yo para discutir :-)

Called In on the way home from Liverpool , we live the other side of Southport but it had been recommended to us & we weren't disappointed The one thing was we thought the gravy was very Yummy Might go back and get some to freeze so I've always got it in We got a large chips , 2 pots of peas 1 pot of gravy a steak pie & a cheese & onion pie £7.40 so very good value Our only compliant is we found the peas very salty We will defo go again

Only tried the fish and chips from here but always excellent and always busy. The serve Chinese, kebabs and fish and chips. Good size portions hubby and I share a portion of chips there are that many. Well worth the trip out to Ainsdale for fish and chips

Always a great fall back after a busy day, and no idea what to cook. the busy bee staff are friendly and very efficient and food is fabulous. Well worth a visit.

I'm from Nottingham but visit my g/f every weekend in Ainsdale near Southport. I first tried the Busy Bee 2 years ago, but now i like to visit every time i'm down, if you like fish & chips you'll not be disappointed, cooked to perfection, and huge portions, they also do Chinese food too, but not tried it yet, but definitely will soon.

Been going here for years. The food is great and there's a large selection to choose from, English, Chinese, kebabs, burgers, it does it all and it's all fab. The service is also of high standard. The staff are friendly and fast. Absolutely love this chippy!

Our new local chippy! Thankfully it is great because there are some terrible ones around. Fish and chips always fresh , the spicy curry sauce is delish and the chinese food is excellent. We had peking duck pancakes and chicken vermicelli, both very tasty indeed. The staff are always friendly and the owner Vaz is a great chap who works so hard to make it a success.

We call here a lot after my sons football games. Always friendly, great range of dishes, cooked quickly and tastes fabulous.

Sensible prices and good service. I only buy fish and chips so can't really speak about the other items which when I am in the shop seem very popular.

In my opinion this is the best fish and chip shop in Ainsdale, and judging by the queues of people there most nights, other agree as well. The fish and chips are freshly cooked and you get a lot for your money.

Best chippy in Ainsdale, good food, great people. My husband loves the Chinese meals here, he also likes them extra hot, when we order, they never fail to make our order as we like it. The fish and chips are excellent too. Whatever we order, we have never had a bad meal, and this is our regular chippy, so we go often.

My family and I love this chippy and have got fish and chips nearly every friday for at least 10 years . Cant beat it... great service, especially with the younger kids when its a busy friday night, handing them little cones of chips to make up for the wait. Wouldnt go anywhere else in the surrounding areas.

ihave been going to the busy bee for years it is the best place in southport for fish and chips the curry is very good and his kebabs theowner is very pleasant and always remembers people the staff arre very nice and it always looks clean if thereare no fish ready when you go late they will always cook a fresh one if i go on my own the boss always asks how my son is same if my son goes he asks about me tomorrow night we will be having them

Salt and pepper chips are excellent.Curry sauce great.Sausages juicy and meatyI visit every time I am back in the UK.

Ordered fish and chips, Sausage and Special chow mein. It was absolutely disgusting, extremely greesey and tasted awful. Whole lot went in the bin, only I live in Formby I would of took it back. Will never eat or recommend this chip shop.

This chippy has been here for years and is not bad ,but had Haddock and chips last week and sorry its not a patch on the British Chippy ..about half mile away.Unfortunately it's not fresh and the chips although plentifully where awful.

Called in 15 minutes before lunch time closing. I wanted 2 haddock and 1 portion of chips. No bother and I watched 2 large fresh fillets (with the skin) dipped in golden batter and deep fried. I only ordered the 1 portion of chips cause you get loads.I have bought fish & chips all over the country and these ones are the best by far.

Went today as the take away seems to be closed again at pontins, down the road...as previous nights..Straight info, ABSOLUTELY GREAT FOOD, .,There is always a done side...ORDER YOUR FOOD THE NIGHT BEFORE.customer service...much to be improved...5 staff members behind the counter, half an hour, to get served.,Something to consider, lots of parking in the local supermarket.

I have been going to the Busy Bee regularly for a few years as it is only a mile or so from where I live in Ainsdale...I have recently (March ~ June 2015) noticed the Food has become considerably Greasy.I purchased food recently in a tray and upon getting home to eat found there was actually a Pool of grease at the bottom of the tray.This made me feel sick and I actually threw the food out..The chips have become "Soggy" in recent times and the presentation appears considerably poorer than in days gone by.The Fish that used to be Huge now seem noticeably smaller.Not the case with the pricesI have given the Chippy a few chances hoping it was just a one off occasion when the food was poor.This appears not to be the case as the food was Greasy again on another 2 visits.The worrying thing was that it was during peak hour on my way back from work.I shant be using the Chippy again and will be astonished if there are not more Poor reviews.."THE BUSY BEE DOESN'T APPEAR TO BE AS BUSY AS A BEE"

Ive been coming here for the past 20 years. It's my favourite chippy to head to. Run by the same owner too. Love there salt and pepper chips! There my favourite. The fish is huge but I've seen that they now sell small cod! Will be visiting again soon :)

2300hrs 03/03/2015 good location, but had a bad encounter on the 3 march after our long flight and journey from Manchester airport we were ready for some refreshment ,,,we had fish chips and a barm ,,took them home and they were hard chips and soggy battered fish sorry didn't enjoy will avoid in future ,,

This place always seems to be busy and I know why, consistently good food. A simple recipe for success!

Food is usually nice but today it was tasteless and the chips were like rubber. Not suggested, service was slow and they need more staff

This place is without doubt the best chippy in the world. We drive there but as it's so popular there isn't always room to park your car. We always get our haddock and chips ( haddock is cooked to order) and drive down to Ainsdale beach and eat in the car. Wonderful fish and chips.

This used to be one of the best chippy;s around but it's been going down hill for a few years now. Portion size's are smaller than they used to be prices have gone up and depending what time of day you go in chips can be very hit and miss

Of all the Fish Fryers in all the World the fish here is perfect with light crispy batter. I always have the haddock (freshly fried) and the fish fills a large dining plate. The chips are bountiful and tasty, again freshly fried, yummy. I always have a carton of spicy curry sauce too, delicious!There is a Chinese chef for the wide range of Chinese style food available as well as kababs. I would highly recomend the Special Foo Yung with fried rice.(In reply to the first comment) In all the years we have been to the Busy Bee there has never been anything missing from the bag when we got home and the staff are always friendly.

Everytime we go here they forget an item sometimes a portion of chips or a tub of sauce. The owners attitude to forgot on items is a bit short. But the food itself is excellent we can't fault it. But if you get food home and some is missing you have to go back for it and have cold food not good. So a handy hint is to check its all there before you leave then enjoy

Owned by the same family for almost 30 years and I guess that I must have visited over 1000 times!! Standard of meals is excellent to the extent that when my grown-up sons come back to Southport they always insist on a "Busy Bee's" . The queues on a Saturday dinner time show how popular it is.

Consistantly the best food from a chip shop in southport and great value. Hard working staff and a dedicated management team that never blow their own trumpet like some bad chippys.
