Aintree Tandoori in Sefton

Authentic lovely food all the time! My go to place just the best never getting anywhere better! You should open in the city centre!!!

Just been to this restaurant and was very disappointed. Arrived at 4pm and waited 2 hours for our starter. We had a party of fourteen people. The guys were more interested in doing deliveries that serving the people seated. Did not leave until 7.10 which was outrageous. The head of our party complained and was offered a paltry sum as compensation for our spoilt birthday party celebration. Will not be returning this establishment in the near future. NEVER AGAIN.

The best Taandoori/Indian for miles, and defo the place to go for fairly priced, authentic, quality food. Never had a bad meal here, and great to see the standards of quality and taste also replicated within the numerous takeaways we've also had from here.

Ordered through Deliveroo and food never arrived. Deliveroo weren't much help so called them direct to see if they could help and they said 'so what' contact Deliveroo and then put the phone down. Tried to call a few times and just got abuse, ended up ordering from somewhere else.

Where do I start.. Don’t get me wrong the only reason I put 4 out 5 is just a few minor details that didn’t sit right with me. Some people are probably going to give me hate for them but it’s my review so screw it. First off the food was to die for, I was feeling a little fragile and wanted to find somewhere that I could have a quick bite to eat but also feel like I wasn’t being watched by everyone. I ordered the Salmon curry dish which was immaculate and just so good I have no words for it, my partner ordered some lamb curry which he said was absolutely amazing, so I have no issues with the food. The only things that concerned me were the fact we were sat next to a double fire door which had been covered up with 1970’s diner booths making it physically impossible for you to exit if a fire were to take place, but not only that fire door was covered almost every fire door was covered which is kinda scary. The restaurant could do with a facelift, from the outside it dosent really look too good with paint and walls falling apart, walking inside it’s cold but have lovely staff, we were sat beneath the speakers so all we could hear is songs played on a loop in a different language which I couldn’t understand. I had asked if this would be on all evening but didn’t get a straight answer back. As I said there are only minor things that I’ve reviewed them 1 less of a 5, but I’d definitely be returning again there’s no doubt about that.

Wow ! Absolutely amazing authentic food. You know the way sometimes you eat a takeaway, and you say, “that was really nice” well this food blows your mind !! Just for your information, I tonight had the Tandoori Lamb Chop starter, followed by the King Prawn Karahi. The Naan Bread is sensational as well. Superb staff too. I’d HIGHLY recommend it.

I’d love to give a better rating but I’ve been waiting 2 hours for my order despite living less than a ten minute drive away

We went in tonight and all our food was delicious piping hot and was served quickly. Have to say they weren’t the friendliest bunch and one that took our empty plates almost snatched a basket off of me as I passed it to him but the service was good.

I have just returned from Aintree Tandoori. After reading several reviews a fair amount being very damming my cousin and my self decided to give it a try. All I can say is the people who criticised this restaurant was it the same one I went to. The food piping hot, tasty, I had chicken madras with loads of thick pieces of chicken of excellent quality. The restaurant was clean, the toilets spotless. The service was brilliant. Please don’t be put off bad reviews. It’s well worth a visit.

This is the worst Indian food I have ever tasted do your self a favour and swerve it honestly tastless

We usually go to another indian 5mins down the road from here which is pick up only but as my partner has covid we looked for somewhere else that delivers to try. Reviews where hit and miss but wanted to give it a try. Unfortunately the meals where tastless and very watery. Onion bhajis where nice but that was it. I will stick to my usual indian place in a weeks time when we can drive.

Great food, the restaurant wasn't busy when we arrived but soon started to fill up. The service was fine and the food was very good. The prices were as you'd expect, we had the set menu for around £32. Seen some bad reviews on here but we saw nothing to complain about. Will be going back soon.

Ordered takeaway which took 3 hours to be delivered. When it arrived food was all undercooked raw onion raw garlic TONNES of salt. It was totally inedible ended up in the bin

AVOID Guy answering phone can’t understand English, took 5 mins giving address, was on the brink of putting the phone down, Delivery arrived late & COLD we still ate cold as we don’t like waste, Small portions compared to our usual Indian takeaway (curry2night) Canned Drinks delivered warm not been in a fridge...... delivery took ages Was £5 more expensive thank our usual Very very Low Food quality for a restaurant that’s supposed to serve restaurant quality quality food. Thought we’d give it a try, we will Stick to our usual from now on. TBH the popadom and chutney dip where the best thing about the meals. AVOID

I ordered from this restaurant last night for a takeaway, when the food arrived the curry Murgh Batwar which was chicken with mince lamb I took one bite and knew instantly it was not right the mince was off you could taste that the mince has been cooked god knows how long before days, weeks?? And refrigerated or frozen I could actually taste that on it, it also had a strange smell and fishy sort of taste, the chips were soggy and dry and had been left for a good while before my order the salad I received with my food in a little baggy as usual when ordering Indian food was brown and had an awful smell it is obvious these are pre prepared and left, needless to say I didn’t have at any more, frightened of getting ill! I called the restaurant and spoke to a member of staff who was apologetic and told me I would receive a call from the manager within the hour, I then received a call from the delivery driver asking where I lived he remembered bringing my food and jokes he would have gone to McDonald’s for me, I thought this was the manager told him my complaint to get told a manager would call me back! The manager called back eventually so again I explained my problem explained I couldn’t eat it and the food was definitely off, he then told me that it was me with the problem and that in fact I just couldn’t taste and basically I don’t understand Indian food! Was not interested in what I had to say and just continued to Speak to me in a patronising way! I myself have worked in the food industry and in many restaurants so I know what I’m talking about. Basically I now need to contact just eat for a refund absolutely disgusting food and worse customer service this place is going to make people sick. I will be contacting environmental health Don’t eat here

We have now visited 3 times. The first 2 times were okay. We have been this week and have been saddened by our experience. Drinks were flat and food did not taste good. I explained this to the waiter but he did not seem interested. No discount. Won’t be going again.

Came on the 8th of September There was not a single other table in the restaurant Service was absolutely horrendous All our drinks were flat Waited sooooo long for starters then even longer for mainsHad to get up to the bar to order more drinks (Twice) Got up three times to ask how long the food would be Staff were sitting behind the bar watching something on their phone Absolute worst service iv ever experienced. And when I say there was no body else in the restaurant I mean no one at all Would definitely not recommend and will not be returning

I didn't get a chance to try it as stood near the bar for 30 minutes with everyone ignoring us. Tables empty with piling dishes everywhere, could have fitted us in easily. Decided to leave and looks like others followed after seeing what a mess this place was.

Visited Aintree Tandoori for the first time whilst shopping in the area. Restaurant extremely busy, due to "Eat Out to Help Out." However, no customers were turned away, and staff did their utmost to accommodate everyone. Gents worked very hard, and were rushed off their feet, keeping up with customer orders and the washing up. However, everyone remained good humoured.Ordered starters and mains, but everything arrived at once. No matter, as the food was very tasty. I ordered some vegetable side dishes, too, which were packed with flavour. Only problem was that, when I tried to order from the selection of delicious-looking desserts from the menu on the table, I was told they "weren't available." Consequently, I mentioned to the manager that it would be better to remove these menus from the tables to avoid confusion. Well done everyone for giving of your best under challenging circumstances.

Went for nice Family meal at Aintree Tandoori. Phoned to book and to confirm the £10 gov scheme. Had the food , then the Bill arrived. To our HORROR , they have decided to change the rulesTelling us you only get £10 of per person if you spend over £100 . And you get The £10 for half the guests. A BLATANT MIS USE IF GOVERMENT GENEROSITY. Also did not want people to take any copies of Bills with them.?????????

We have visited tonight and although only fairly busy the service was absolutely shambolic. We had a table booked for 7 , got ignored by the waiter behind the bar in the maroon shirt for about 7 minutes until I had to ask him. Taken to a table and left for a further 10 mins before a drinks order was taken which took another 10 mins to arrive and no one had taken our food order. We got our starters after a further 30+ mins . The mains took about another 40 mins ‍♀️ Several tables got up and left as they had waited so long and it is such a shame as the food is really good. I think the problem is they need to decide if they are a takeaway or a restaurant as it seems the first is taking precedence over the second. Pick one and decide or get enough staff who can manage both. Wait staff were awful, wandering around, and bordering on rude. If I was the owner I would either be present or employ someone to take control who knows how to manage a restaurant. I live local and won’t return until something changes and before they say it’s the government scheme, I have been before that and also waited ages, although not as long as tonight.

We had a family meal on the eat out to help out scheme, they were very busy and working flat out. There was some delay on drinks but it was inderstandable, food hot fresh and delicious

I had a meal booked at this restaurant with boyfriend and father in law yesterday and when we arrived we taken to a table, drinks order taken immediately. Then we waited and waited no waiters came over to take food order. we asked several times for a member of staff to take our order they said yes then never came back to the table, others avoided eye contact. it was very strange... restaurant was very busy looked like only 3 waiters serving which was ridiculous as restaurant was fully booked. On the 4th time of asking one of waiter went off to fetch another member of staff to take our order .. which again is bizarre and by this point we been waiting 30 mins to get someone to take our food order. An older waiter came over to take our order his manner was very rude and abrupt, over talking me when I asked how long food would take as its taken them over 30 mins to take food order response we got 'I don't know it takes as long as it takes' again NO apology for wait!! When we ordered our food we asked for pickle tray and poppadoms and i asked for glass of coke both of which took another 20 mins to appear at the table!! the older waiter brought them over and basically chucked them at us and slammed the drink at the end of the table. Disgusting manners!! we then persisted to wait another HOUR AND HALF for update on our food. AGAIN i asked 3 waiters to check on our food and only the last waiter came back to tell us it was JUST BEING COOKED! I was completely gobsmacked at this on how they thought it was acceptable to keep us waiting nearly two hours for food.( was there at 6.30pm was now 8.15pm). there was NO APOLOGY the whole time we were there about waiting times. we left the table and was asked by the older waiter who served us before where we were going, I explained that its unacceptable to keep us waiting that long, how long it took to take order, drinks were flat and his disgusting attitude and how rude he was. His response was 'we are busy love' and turned his back to me at the bar, I carried on to say i will be writing a very bad review on trip advisor and about tonight's experience. and I was told 'We have got plenty of other customers in here anyways and shouted to get out!!!! I have never had an experience like that were a waiter has spoke to me like that. It was totally disgusting and very disappointing as my father and mother in law are regular customers here. DO NOT EAT HERE!!! Horrible experience and will never be returning or recommending to other family and friends!! Don't waste your money here!!

We came to Aintree Tandoori for a family meal, very nice atmosphere, great staff, only negative is we had to wait a very long time for our food and it wasn’t to busy. Food was good for the price.

Had a takeaway tonight after a busy working week. Food was fresh, hot and we loved it. Looking forward to our next takeaway. Arrived earlier than expected. Yummy, Thank you.

Ordered a banquet for 2 people. It was really good. Restaurant is closed but they deliver locally or you can collect. Meal was ordered and ready within 30 mins.Plenty of food. Hghly recommended

We have visited this restaurant many times, and never been disappointed. Had a takeaway from here last weekend and , again we really enjoyed the food. We had the Chef's special, and it was very good value for the money, Very enjoyable.

Just had a home delivery it was amazing. We pre ordered on line and the process was really easy and the order arrived on time. Missing this place and can't wait until its open again. Will definitely order again as food was delicious. Thanks Shah and Shippon.

The Sunday set menu is good the extras add up a bit but overall very good value for money and every time I have been it has been a nice relaxing evening so I would highly recommend this place if you are in the area

Had a fantastic time last Sunday 23rd Feb, we had 30 in our party for our son's 21st, cannot fault food, service and atmosphere. Well done to you all will be returning very soon. Thank you.

great meal went for the sunday special , me and the wife had a great meal , one of the best indian meals for a long time.

Entering a nearly empty restaurant and still staff cant be asked to see to you after standing waiting for 10 minutes. Finely shown to a table and getting the menu cards thrown on the table. Starters were quickly served but tasted of nothing. No flavours at all. The mains were then also thrown on the table. The lamb was tough, not cooked long enough. The waiter was not interested in anything then to disappear as quickly as he could. All of this while you have to listen to nursery songs on repeat. Never again.

We have eaten here several times and food is lovely, new years eve booked a table for 6 not really busy but tables all around restaurant were full of empty dirty dishes and uncleared for whole time we were there. 1.5hrs in and still no starters, had to repeatedly ask about our food, many others either left or complained as well. Staff were not bothered and just kept telling us short staffed.. but the just eats service was flying out no problem! Very unfortunate as i say food is lovely but wont be back

our first time at aintree tandoori and will be back very soon ,food was very good would give it a 9 out of 10 ,very impressed.

A very long wait (45 minutes +) before the starter appeared. I had ordered a spinach pakora but we were brought 2 prawn puris. Upon telling the waiter that this was not what we ordered he just rolled his eyes and disappeared back into the kitchen. No apology or asking what we did order.

We didn't plan on visiting Aintree Tandoori as we did go out to go to Nandos and to be honest I wish we would have just come home after the waiting list being too long at nandos.

We popped in here one night while staying at the Premier inn Aintree. We visited the racecourse then walked down the road to have a meal here. Really quick service lovely food, and friendly staff. Would reccomend

Waited too long so left before mains arrived, nobody in the place even the waiter was missing. On the way out I could see why nobody was there, they were all smoking something outside.

Went for tea on a Monday night, the place was empty, not a member of staff in sight when we arrived we waited 10 minutes for somebody to come out of the kitchen & only done so then because the phone rang, to be seated. Glass of coke was flat, sent back. Food very bland. Poppadom’s seemed stale, not crispy. Starters tasteless & doughy. Lamb tikka masala bland & tasted of pure coconut’s, lamb was just fat. Rice was very dry & rubbery. Every dish bar one was sent back, waiter very rude & when we explained what was up with the food the waiter replied with we sell a lot of masala & it’s fine & was trying to dispute, lacking in customer service. Then offered to reduce bill by 50% witch we replied we will only be paying for the food what was edible. Won’t be returning!

Went yesterday for a family meal for my Dad’s birthday, prebooked our table for 8:00pm, we were seated right away and ordered drinks which arrived promptly. From then it was half an hour until we ordered food. Nobody came to the table and eventually I stood waiting at the bar for someone to come out, not a single member of staff in sight. I resorted to phoning the restaurant to prompt someone to come out of the kitchen. When the waiter came over to take our order he was very rude and instead of asking what we would like to order he just said “yeah?”.

After wanting to visit here for quite some time, we decided to book it for our Wedding Anniversary. There was a child's party going on in the function room and staff were very busy. After a short wait, we were seated. Restaurant dining part itself seemed clean enough. Our waiter in the waistcoat was miserable looking (Dr Fun!!) and certainly would put a dampener on a group night out id imagine! Our food arrived and thats when we started to notice things ie, no sauce with tandoori starter (usually get it in every restaurant), no napkins, starter plates not collected once finished and then the mains were served so we had to reuse our starter cutlery, food unfortunately was bland we agreed. We went to the toilet and O.M.G what a disgrace, all 3 cubicles would not flush, no loo paper in any and it looked so dirty in there. Other people by us were complaining about waiting times re ordering etc, I was willing to maybe revisit to retry it but not bothering as them toilets just were the icing on the cake.

Been here a few times over the last few years or so. The food is generally nice and we have always enjoyed it. We have been here on Christmas Day a few times too as our daughter doesn’t like roasts so we go for Indian instead They really make a fuss of you Christmas Day.. Service here is always good and the staff are pleasant. What’s a bit sad is the atmosphere. Sometimes it’s so empty that it puts you off coming. Nothing more boring than going for a meal and there’s all these empty tables and chairs. The meals are lovely and love the poop Dom’s and pickle tray. The passander is lovely as is the chicken jalfrazie. The chicken tikka masala is very rich .

We went here last night and ordered poppadoms and chutneys which where fine. The problems however started when I ordered the lamb chilli and garlic.

I have just spent an hour waiting for our starters in Aintree Tandoori, several people complained and walked out as did we.

Visited for a last minute family meal. Service from the start was very dismissive and rude. Everything seemed to difficult. Only had one menu between three, when asked for two more got a funny look.

Currently sat here. Been here hour and a half and so far had starters.

Can not believe some of the reviews! The staff are lovely and the food was amazing!! Highly recommended. Maybe some people don’t have better things to do 😂

The food here is AMAZING. Sadly the staff came across as a little rude and like they didn't really want to be there, although the waitress behind the bar was lovely. Service can be very slow but the food is worth the wait, even when the restaurant was quiet it took a long time for our food to come.

this restaurant is right next to Aintree Racecourse I went with my wife, it was Saturday night there were only two people in there which seemed strange for a start. we orderd drinks and a starter, the starter wasn't very good but we stuck it out and waited for the main course, when it came it was tasteless so we just left it. I asked for the bill and my wife went to the ladies I paid the bill and told the person who served us the food was disgusting he just shrugged his shoulders and said sorry you did not like it. My wife came out of the ladies and said the toilet in the ladies was blocked and was filling up and the whole toilets absolutely stunk to high heaven, will never go there again. This is just a warning to all those race goers next week stay away from the Aintree Tandoori.

I came out for a meal with my Fiance. We received our drinks and I had to send mine back as it tasted of vinegar. Got another one and we ordered our food at 7:05pm. Another couple came in afterwards and ordered there’s as normal. It came to 8pm and the table next to us finished their starter and were about to finish their mains. Meanwhile, my fiancé and I were still waiting for our order. We ended asking for our order to be cancelled and no apology from the member of staff. Told us to sit down we were next but at this point we were so put of with how we were being treated and that we didn’t receive an appetiser that we told them we were leaving and we weren’t interested.

First time placing an order with Aintree Tandoori for home delivery. Asked for my entire order to be free from onions.

This is for a takeaway order and we did not eat in the restaurant so can’t comment on that part. Me and my partner had chicken tikka masala, and was absolutely lovely can’t fault that. I had a prawn cocktail and he had a onion baji which he said was lovely as well. My prawn cocktail was awful, the prawns still had the intestinal tract on them, which if it was slightly it really wouldn’t bother me but some of them were bulging in big spots on the prawn. It was really off putting. Fed back but no response. I had also requested if they did onion salads (was not on the menu) could they add to order and I would pay when picking up. The man who took the money for the food was also abrupt and snatched the money from us, and shouted we had to pay for the onion salad (I had said we would) and charged us for a full tray of chutney for the salad, when we had already ordered one. We loved the rest of the food and was disappointed with this that it has put us off going again.

Loverly food, very tasty. Nice atmosphere convenient location. Will definitely return to this restaurant.

Went for my birthday after the races on the 8th. Was an excellent evening and enjoyed the atmosphere and food. I had the chicken tilka masala and i can honestly say it was one of the best i’ve had. The service was good as soon as i got in i was asked for drink and poppadoms. P.s the waiter and waitress looked cute together

This is our third visit to Aintree Tandoori and we always come back home with the same issues.

very good local food in or take way . reasonably priced but they do not allow you to bring ur own drinks. Drinks are a bit expensive and its expected its AINTREE. But nice decor, specially the lad don know his name but stylish hair and uses specatcle, very nice boy and humble as well. He make sure that everything goes ok.

As we were stopping at the Premier Inn in Aintree, we decided to try this restuarant, from the outside it looks shabby, once inside it is quite teatefully decorated and well spread out. I had the Onion Bhaji's, probably the best I have had in a very long time, not to much flour and a golden brown - delicious. The lamb in the rogan josh just melted in the mouth

We were staying at a hotel close by, went for a walk looking for somewhere to eat on a sunday night, came across this restaurant. Good food, quite mild Indian food though, it was the only Indian restaurant we went to in the UK, so haven't any to compare with, as this might be the norm, at home its not this mild with the same dishes. But overall it was a very good meal, reasonably priced and good service. Would definitely recommend

Chose this restraint as it was close to our hotel and most reviews were good. Sadly it didn’t live up to our expectations. Decor was tired and there was no atmosphere. The first member of staff were a bit surly. I ordered samosas as a starter and received 2 tiny parcels that looked pale and uncooked. My wife had onion Bhajis and said they were ok but nothing special. Our main courses were marginally better. My wife ordered a coke and received a flat dark liquid that certainly wasn’t coke. No popadoms! No Indian lagers! Can’t recommend this place,

My dad and I visited here last night. Have to say the food was fantastic, fresh and one of the best curries I’ve had in a long time.

Table booked for 7 p.m. got seated at 720 p.m. starter at 815 and main at 9 p.m., ignorant staff with the exception of the barmaid who was run off her feet while the 2 males only got into action when approached then tried to charge full price!!!!! Never visit this place, the food isn't all that either

This is a place that is not worth going to and the food and service is awful. They do not cater for people who do not eat Indian as others do. I will not be going to this place again and would advice you give it a miss. I rate this place minus 5 stars

Worth a visit if you’re around aintree. Only quiet when we were there so cannot comment on the service when it gets busy, but the staff and the quality of food were great. Should have no problem getting a table as the place is enormous

We went there for what we thought was going to be a real hot curry. Well it wasn’t. When the waiter put it on the table it was a pinkish red colour, well hayho I’ll give it a go I thought & it was horrible. It was so sweet they should of offered it as a desert. Something went wrong somehow in that kitchen & put a sack of sugar in the wrong pan.. that’s one restaurant I won’t be going back to..

The service is great and the staff are lovely. The food was very good and the Bombay duck was fab. Each time we have visited we have had a really great time Thank you to the manager and his team

We booked for my father in laws birthday, and after a rather rude welcome were taken to a giant table in the middle of the restaurant (there was only 4 of us). We then noticed an unset booth for 4 in the corner and asked if we could sit there instead as we didn’t wish to shout across at each other, the waiter shrugged before storming off. It was clear there was only 1 waiter working and we felt sorry for him, and certainly would have understood some delays had it not been for his appalling attitude.

We visited Aintree Tandoori again, 4th Visit. Just thought they might have got their act together now...... but no.

Went Sunday afternoon for dinner , it was such a terrible experience. Food is bland, seems lambs tikka was a week left and just served, it’s was bad smells, curry was Just in tomato sauce,,, even if we try to make that food at home we make better

We booked here for our New Years Party, the place was absolutely buzzing.

Had a lovely family meal tonight at the Aintree Tandoori. The staff were very friendly and the service was excellent. We all had various starters and mains which were very tasty especially the butter chicken! Will definitely be going back.

Although I have eaten in this restaurant many times with family and friends, this was the first time I ordered to take away. (15.12.17). I was really happy with the service. The quality of the food was to an excellent standard, just like the same quality as served at the table in the restaurant. May I recommend not only this restaurant to in in, but also the quality take away service. Thank you to the staff who always give great service, and may I say that the quality of the food is to an outstanding standard. Can't recommend this restaurant enough well done staff.

Came into here after the races, expecting it to be rammed. It was empty. Had four starters, a main meal. Keema nan and a mushroom pilau rice between us.

45 minute wait for starter 40 minute for main meal,20 minute wait for the bill,the curry was fine,the rice was microwaved from frozen and still in a lump,the staff response to complaints was abysmal .if you go here then don't expect to get home on time.absolutely no excuse for the delays as there were plenty of empty tables. i suspect that their priority is for their takeaway business,maybe they should just have a hatch serving the passing traffic like maccies.i will never go again

Food was really tasty but portions were a bit on the small side which suited me but not him. Only drank coke due to driving but it was as flat as a pancake and the barman argued with us about changing it. Felt they tried to hurry us out of the restaurant as quickly as possible by whipping our plates away as soon as we put our girls down. Staff could have been a bit more cheery.

Have visited this restaurant before and had a fantastic meal. Made a second visit this week while visiting family in Liverpool and while my husband rated his Indian meal as "fantastic" unfortunately my English meal was pretty poor. Not seeing a plain omelette on the menu I asked the waiter if I could have one. He said it was no problem and disappeared to organize our order. Not quite sure what was in the omelette when it arrived but it certainly wasn't just egg. There were bits in it that resembled the look and texture of chicken but certainly didn't taste like it, and the chips were very greasy.

Service is pants, don't go expecting first class service cos you won't get it. What the restaurant is though is a very good local restaurant which I wouldn't hesitate to visit at any time, food is very good, not fantastic but again good for a local restaurant. Atmosphere can be a little dour at times when empty but aren't most places. The prices are more than acceptable. Been here 4 times now and enjoyed each visit, just don't go expecting the standards of a restaurant in town and enjoy it for what it is. You'll definitely want to go back.

Haven't sat in Aintree Tandoori yet but have been inside to collect our take away meals and it is lovely. Well presented, clean and well spaced. As for the food, plenty to choose from and they are well priced and well made. Lucky to have it so local but would definitely travel to come here.

We attended the restaurant for a birthday treat for our granddaughter.The service was first class and the meals fantastic, I even tried the Cobra beer which was great , and it was served chilled (as it should be).Everyone enjoyed the evening and the meals. We can't wait to go again well worth a visit.

I wanted to like this place. It was recommended by the hotel I was staying at. It's smart enough inside, but I found my initial greeting and seating a bit cold and off-hand. I waited a good few minutes to get served and then a good few minutes more for my poppadums, which were a touch stale. The pickles were good. I ordered my meal (onion bhajee and Tandoori sizzler mixed grill) then waited. My starter didn't take too long, but the bhajees were a little on the cold side in the middle. My main course took a long time to come, even though the restaurant wasn't that busy. I must have waited over half an hour for it, which is unacceptable in my book. The main was OK but not spectacular. I've had much better. Still, the chap who brought the bill was pleasant and chatty and it was pretty decently priced for what I had.

its a big group of 15.we thought as its next to aintree racecourse and popular area could be less likely to get a decent service but we had no other choice than this place because it was business meeting for us and every wanted to meet in a local restaurentand at the end they did not make us upset. Everything was maintained in a proper professionalmanner. Nothing to say in details but a big.... "THANKS"

I called this Indian restaurant as it is local to me. I just asked for a spicy fish curry - And they offered a range of different proteins. I chose to have salmon and they recommended a "Jalia" - It was delicious, so much so that I ordered again the same thing the following night! I know where I will be going for my curries in future! If you are ever Aintree way You MUST go to the Aintree Tandoori. Fabulous food lovely restaurant and very friendly staff. The tikka biriany is to die for peshwari nan scrumptious, just everything was gorgeous. Pauline Debby and Bett went last night 7th Jul and we will be going again very soon. To be fair, the rating should be hovering between 3 and 4. The food was good - not very good, and not average, but good. The King prawn puree starter was very nice, and the chicken tikka massala was tasty, but a livid, livid red colour - the kind of curry that makes you think you are haemorrhaging the following day until you remember what you ate the night before.Naans and rice were all extremely pleasant, and the service was good - however, I dread to think what all that food colouring did to my digestive system (actually, I know what it did, but I'll leave that to your imagination).Please don't let this review put you off, and hopefully their curries will become less oompa-loompa like in their hue.

Can't fault the food, it was delicious and they had a great Sunday offer - 3 courses for £9.95. Staff seemed quite friendly, even if it did take a while to place our order. No complaints. Will be back!

Went for the Sunday offer which is 3 courses for £10 (although one of the courses is either rice or nan) and i must say it was really tasty. I had onion bhaji to start and jalfrezi for my main and both wee lovely. Service was good too.

Went on a sunday for the first time, having not tad Indian did begins, the Sunday special menu was great value and offered a chance to sample the Indian quinine, I have to say I wasn't disappointed the food was really nice and the staff are really nice and friendly advising on what food to try . Will defiantly visit again

Went their 3 times in the same week food and service is excellent. Different meal every time, always cooked to perfection.

11 of us came here to eat. Service was ok but only four other people came in while we were eating.Food was not as good as Remora in South Hunter Street Liverpool.Just as we were getting ready to go two of our group saw a mouse running around the restaurant. The gents toilets were clean but one of the cubicle locks was broken and a toilet roll was needed in one of the cubicles.

We've been wanting to give the Aintree Tandori a try for a long time but the reviews on tripadvisor saying you have to wait for ages for your food and drinks put us off. We have heard that the food is lovely though, so we are going to give it a try on Friday 5 May for a birthday celebration to see what its like. Indian is our favourite food so watch this space and I'll let you know what we think.

Great offer on the Sunday menu. Good food and good service. Opens at 3pm. Plenty to choose from on the varied menu.Will not be disappointed.

Not sure what some people's expectations are. This place gets really busy because the food is great, the waiters can only do so much as all the food is prepared fresh from scratch. I go here all the time and never waited longer than 20 minutes for the main course, maybe some people are unlucky with big parties being in. It's very popular because it's a great place to eat. If you can't wait maybe macDonald's is more appropriate.
