The best restaurants in United Kingdom serving British food

Just enjoyed a delicious meal with St George’s day theme. Quality food served in the cosy dining room. Asparagus and sardine starters were beautifully cooked and very generous. Lamb shanks huge and beautifully cooked. Sadly no space for the desserts. Friendly young staff who looked after us well. This is also a regular stopover for walks as coffee and cakes are highly recommended.

Great place to call off for a coffee and cake, coffee was good and the cakes tasty. Nice seating area outside, friendly staff.

Seriously top quality food here , only ever had a breakfast last year here , was staying local again so had the cod loin, wife had pork belly . All so flavoursome, plentiful and succulent. All homemade and it shows , best meal eaten in a long time

The Plough in Henfield is the loveliest little pub in the town. We recently booked there for dinner and the entire team were amazingly accommodating. They made our party feel so welcome and the food was delicious, especially the seafood. They also have entertainment some evenings (check out their Facebook page for more information) to create a fun and dynamic atmosphere. I couldn’t recommend the establishment more and Retro Ralph - who entertained us that evening with classics songs from the 60s to the 90s. The Plough made a birthday truly special.

Costa Crayford is always spotlessy clean, the staff are cheerful and helpful, lovely place to grab a drink and five minutes peace.

Cracking hotel with a great owner(Karen) and staff,nothing was to much trouble.Gave spot on information regarding the train times(station 30 second walk away)Ditto taxi info.Ate evening meal twice and was good quality at an affordable price,breakfast was also very good and plentiful. My room was clean and warm on arrival and everything worked as it should.This is a short walk from the golden beach, through the golf course,you can then take a leisurely stroll into Tenby.All in all a fantastic stay and will be back.The hotel really is in a prime spot to explore the coast all the way to Pembroke and beyond. Remember,diesel on the chain.

Absolutamente delicioso desayuno en Balance. Nos dieron un 10% de descuento con nuestra estancia en el hotel Point A en Waterloo que nos señaló a ir aquí. Hay una gran variedad de comida, no solo desayuno - hay ofertas para el almuerzo y la cena también. Tuve el brindis avo con feta y mi novio tuvo las tortitas con jarabe de arce y plátano. Tuvimos un chupito de fruta cada uno y un americano negro - todo era absolutamente delicioso. Cuando llegamos, estaba bastante ocupado, así que se esperaba esperar un poco para nuestra comida, pero no había retraso en absoluto. Vale la pena llegar temprano ya que salimos justo después de las 9 y estaba muy ocupado y la gente estaba haciendo cola para entrar - poco estable así!

Another superb meal. The ham was amazingly tasty and quite thick cut. Battered fish and chips was great, huge piece of fish. Excellent value. Great pint of Moongazer with really friendly service.

We had 28 people for food, for my son's wedding, and our restaurant let us down at the the last minute. This place not only fitted us all in but could not have been nicer or any friendlier. Not only was the food amazing but the price was so good I asked if that was everything lol. Would 100% recommend here for food.... Thanks everyone for such a delicious meal and welcoming atmosphere 🥂❤️

Went into pennels on Tuesday to get a few plants with spring being just around the corner. We've always brought our plants from here. They tend to be slightly more expensive than other places but you know you will be getting quality plants. Whilst there we popped in for some lunch. The food is always nice. However I do find the manager to be very abrupt, verging on rude. Staff seem to be stood around talking and at one point saw them on their phones whilst tables needed clearing. This attitude let's down an otherwise enjoyable experience at a very good garden centre

AVOID IF YOU WANT GOOD FOOD AND SERVICE. One of the worst dining experiences of my 67 years. Staff not adequately trained or proficient in customer service in a restaurant ( too many faults and omissions to list). The food despite (2 chase ups) was at least 45 minutes arriving but then we wished 2 dishes hadn't 😞. The plaice bore no resemblance to description to the menu description ( we realised afterwards that we'd been given the menu for a previous weekend - probably why the waitress couldn't find the item on the handset) - not only did it not match the description it was virtually inedible. Despite sending a young lad to apologise and making a deduction, my review is DO NOT EAT HERE.

5 came for birthday lunch. Excellent meal, good value for money and very friendly staff. This is the second time we have visited for a ladies that lunch date.

Verdadera vergüenza, vino con los niños a las 7: 00 pm, como no podía entrar en la estación, algunas mesas tomadas, atmósfera muerta, Pedí comida, salí en orden equivocado, pedí bebidas, tuve que perseguir a los desaparecidos, ¿La comida fue un fracaso, la esposa ordenó el especial fuera de la mesa, salió sin salsa o verduras? Muy extraña elección del chef, me preguntaría si realmente tienen un chef capacitado aquí, ya que la calidad y la elección de la comida es probablemente la razón por la que a las 8 : 30 ¡El lugar estaba desierto "un sábado por la noche"! No puedo ver este lugar que dura mucho más, especialmente cuando caminamos de vuelta la estación estaba llena! Música, así que vinimos allí para nuestra última copa, Me alegro de que lo hicimos, no pude conseguir un asiento ya que estaba tan ocupado ¡En serio consigue a alguien que ayude a tu negocio a atraer a los lugareños!

Food of late needs a vast improvement. Specifically, the Chinese/Cantonese dishes are very poor quality, taste and too pricy. Regular staples have gone sown hill as well, curry etc.
