I decided to treat my wife to a meal out when I disappeared to work at short notice. She wanted to go memories of India in Farnham common. The popadoms were nice. We both had lamb pasanada and rice. We both had a pint of lime and soda. Everything was fine until we got the bill 51 pounds. We were charged nearly 10 pounds for two pints or lime and soda!

Called in for a last minute Saturday night curry and so glad we did. Amazing food can highly recommend the version starter it was unreal. The service was fantastic our waiter was so friendly and even chose my dish for me. I was struggling to choose from all the dishes on the menu so I took a gamble and let him pick. So glad I did as it was so nice. It was the chicken Naga. Can’t wait to go back and try more.

I never write reviews, but I had such a horrible experience from the manageress "Jodie". So I want to write about it here. I often go to Pho (wimbledon and central london) and I LOVE it there.. but this was my FIRST TIME to the KINGSTON branch. I was very upset from the rude service that we had. She was constantly curt. Every answer she gave was abrupt and felt rude). She was very unattentive. (back to our table), and I had to get up to get other staff to help (as she was unhelpful). With the receipt at the end, she said she cant give us a receipt from her payment machine. (But actually, every Pho I have visited elsewhere always give me a receipt from the card reader machine at the table immediately when I pay). She lied to me and said that the machine doesnt give receipts!! Eventually after I demanded a receipt, she issued it from her till. I also asked for all our food to come out together. but it came out very far apart.. I was waiting and waiting, and my food was getting cold. Generally, her rude attitude completely spoiled my meal with my son (whom I was visiting). I did not enjoy this meal at all. I spent £71 on the two of us and felt completely upset and irritated from the manageress's curt and unattentive service. We arrived to the restaurant at about 8:50pm and left at about 10:pm. Also: side note: a bit upset they ran out of Summer Rolls, but that's nobody's fault. But doesnt help when the service was so absolutely rude. (summer rolls is part of the vietnamese experience for me). Even when I got home it was on my mind how rude she was. Again, sorry for the angry review, but this has really bothered me. I dont understand how such rude people can work as a manageress.

Mi visita a The Lao Café fue una gran decepción. Desde el momento en que entramos nos encontramos con un joven que parecía algo frustrado y harto de que hubiéramos entrado. No había una sonrisa amable y cálida bienvenida, sino un abrupto cuestionamiento de si habíamos reservado o no. Él nos mostró a la mesa, y luego nos dejaron. Me levanté a buscar menús. El servicio antipático continuó cuando fui a buscar los baños. Le pregunté a una joven tailandesa que trabajaba allí. Una vez más, tuve la misma mirada cansada, y ella simplemente señaló gruñones las escaleras y eso fue todo. Su actitud era similar a la del joven que nos saludó. Y que los estaba molestando. La comida era sabrosa pero muy pequeñas porciones. Soy plenamente consciente de que los restaurantes del West End no son baratos y soy consciente de los costos de funcionamiento. Pero pagar £ 15 por unos pequeños slithers de carne me parece un poco empinado. Pedimos más ya que estaba claro que no estaríamos llenos en un plato y arroz. Gastamos para dos personas con vino poco más de £ 100 y para una media semana, ‘no ocasión especial’ comida simple esto era demasiado en mi opinión. Puede que me sienta un poco más cómodo con estos precios si estuviéramos inmersos en un ambiente acogedor, cálido y amable. O en un buen restaurante. Pero añadir en el muy mal servicio y la sensación de que cualquier solicitud al personal se veía como molesto y molesto, bueno, es inaceptable. Esto se ve como un restaurante fácil de ir al estilo café y una vez más puedo justificar tales precios. Tailandia y gran parte de esa región es famosa por su gente amable, acogedora y feliz. La famosa 'sonrisa tailandesa' no se vio ni una vez en esta ocasión. Es una lástima, ya que la comida estaba sabrosa y soy consciente de que este estilo de cocina asiática es raro de encontrar en Londres. Puedo aceptar los altos precios teniendo en cuenta los costos de funcionamiento y los precios de los alimentos. Pero lo que no puedo aceptar es un servicio grosero que no muestre preocupación por el comensal y su bienestar. En ningún momento nos preguntaron cómo era la comida, no hubo charla amistosa e interés en nuestra experiencia de bienestar y cena. Los platos vacíos fueron ignorados durante bastante tiempo y no se despidió y gracias cuando nos fuimos. He trabajado en restaurantes y tengo experiencia en un ambiente de servicio ocupado. Una vez más, si estoy pagando más de £ 100, realmente quiero experimentar algo especial. Los modales y el buen servicio deberían ser lo mínimo. No volveré.

hi there i went to the lounge India this evening,/09/2024 nice friendly staff, great service and fantastic food, the mixed plater starters were a meal on there own and were really tasty, the nann bread was fantastic as were the main courses, , i would definitely go back, well worth a visits, many thanks,

Staff and food are great overall , but Veggie curries aubergine and the jackfruit are mostly sauce! Plus We were told we had to leave after 1 & 1/2 hours Surely 2 hours minimum for a meal.. otherwise ot feels like a conveyor belt. Come on Hoppers you are making enough money, always busy ! Stop being greedy!

Do not go here! Where to start…. I am reviewing this under the new name ‘Daily Noodles’. My partner and I went here for dinner, we ordered 5 dishes; Vegan Katsu Curry and Rice; Vegan Sticky Soy Chicken Bao Bun’s; Chicken Katsu and Rice; Hot and Sour Pork Dumplings; Katsu Fries. Initially, the dishes came quite quickly, however my partner was concerned with the Vegan Bao Buns when they arrived. It was different to Vegan Chicken she’d received in the past; so we quickly asked the waiter “is this the vegan bao bun”, he was quick to reply without actually looking at the food, stating that it was in fact the vegan option. I wasn’t convinced at this, so when the waiter came back with my Pork Dumplings (which were cold and semi raw), I asked again, if the Bao Bun’s were Vegan? Again, the waiter was quick to reply with a simple “yes”, without properly checking the product and quickly rushing back behind the counter. My partner was satisfied as she’d been reassured now two times, so she began to eat her Bao Bun’s. These turned out to be Chicken… I sent the dish back immediately, stating this was not vegan. The waiter abruptly took the dish back with a simple “sorry”, showing no empathy at all or remorse. A few minutes later my partner’s dish of Vegan Katsu Curry with Rice arrived - this again wasn’t vegan. This time the waiter’s response was “it looks like you have two normal Katsu curry dishes”. Again, no apology, no empathy. It took 20 minutes for my partner’s replacement bao bun’s to arrive, and this was only after I inquired into where they were. I am absolutely disgusted at not only the lack of due diligence taken into the preparation of food, the customer service and the management of this establishment. When I first arrived, I mentioned to the manager that I myself have a severe nut allergy, I was assured that this would be okay, and all the necessary precautions would be taken to avoid cross-contamination. At the end of my meal, after making a formal complaint into the fact that my partner ate chicken, after implicitly asking if her dish was vegan, he told me ‘none of menu contains nuts actually’. What kind of general manager doesn’t know allergens present in his restaurant? I do not recommend anyone, especially those with dietary requirements to visit here, due to their negligence, lack of care and overall lack of customer service.

I love this restaurant - charming atmosphere, amazing and authentic food. Sadly it hasn't been open for a while now, perhaps even since Covid in 2020. Does anyone have any news or an update? I'd love for this gem of a restaurant to open up again.
