Balti Hut in Hastings

The 4 star reviews on here are clearly fake. This place is scamming people out of delivery money. If you order on just eat, it says it’s free delivery, if you look on their leaflet menu, it says it’s free delivery over £14.95 and within 4 miles. They wait until you’ve ordered and then call you up and demand you pay them £3 delivery or they won’t bring the food. They are bullying in the way they say this and have scammed my old mum twice now. Plus when the food turns up it is the most flavourless, watery muck you’ve ever eaten. Disgusting. Will be trying to get them off just eat.

Lots of food. But no sign of anything fresh, in terms of spices, onion, chilli, herbs etc. Very bland - the majority unfortunately was inedible. Naans were undercooked and soggy.

balti hut has to be the number 1 restaurant around I live in Bexhill but pay the extra to have it delivered best around without a doubt

Gave us an estimated 40mins - 1 hour and it turned up 2 hours after ordering, we understand its Christmas eve and they can be very busy but was an unacceptable wait time. Food was bland and luke warm. Normally great. Must be a different chef on.

the delivery time was pushed from 20:15 to 20:45 and it still didn't arrive. I called at 20:45 and they said they were just leaving

Apart from the Naan not being in the original order I called the restaurant 5 minutes later they have sent me one really can’t complain very happy with the food excellent curry.

food turned up on time unfortunately the food has gone down hill the sag aloo had so much oil in it Saudi Arabia knocked on the door for there place the rice was not cooked properly and the veg curry had so much water sitting on top of the gravy sorry lost a customer that has used balti hut for years time to look elsewhere

I asked in the notes if they could make my vindaloo sauce a little thicker and they did not disappoint, this curry was the nicest one I’ve had yet, delicious 🤤

I was initially grateful to get a complimentary dish before we discovered it was meat. Not great given we’re a meat free house.

Compliments to the Chefs xx The Meat Thali collection was truly gorgeous and the Lamb Buna is now a huge favourite in our house. The base dressings under the Chicken Tikka and Lamb kofte starters were delicious. Loving all the flavours. I would like to see a (Build your own Thali) on the menu, so we have a choice. Really tasty food, delivered on time. I had to give 4 stars only because the chicken pakoras were pre frozen and therefore dry. Also the cauliflower bhaji was overcooked and a bit too salty. loved everything else and thank you for the free dishes you sent.

Staff was super friendly and accomodating to my vegan diet. They said they could make any dish vegan for me. The portions were really big and the food was delicious. Honestly couldn't have been a better experience

Delayed delivery - much of the food was cold and quality was low. Lots and lots of excess oil on the curries and bhajis. Wouldn't recommend

Whole order stone cold popadoms tasted stale as did the onion bhajis really dissappinted as usually amazing good from here

Overall, the food was amazing and I can’t complain however when the food did arrive there was an excessive amount of oils? I understand food leaks but this was a lot more than a leak. Alongside this you should really state somewhere that you charge an extra delivery fee for more than 4 miles. While I understand your reasoning for the charge most of us don’t carry cash anymore which raises concerns.

Nothing was left outside my door basement door or upstairs front door. Please refund.

The dishes were really lovely...but still an awful lot of oil. When it arrives...oil has leaked into bag which stains everything it touches. I understand you need to cook with oils, but I do ask very kindly to remove excess oil because it can take forever and a full roll of kitchen paper to clean everything up before I can even open containers n dish up. It seems my requests are just ignored. Wed just like to enjoy yr curries without getting in a mess. Xxxx

not great a phone call from BALTI HUT to say I hadnot PAID, I said that I had paid, Just eat by card, I was asked to pay an extra £3.00 to the driver which I did, The food was not great, I was dissappointed with the standed, I paid £55,54 for 3 people. plus £3 that I paid the driver, and I had no dinner.

Beautiful curry loads of meat lots of flavour rice breads poppadoms where on point 10 out of ten.

The price has gone up and the portions have been halved, the quality has gone down too. I had an Indian meal with no hint of spice or heat . I won’t be ordering from them anymore.

Ordered the food then the restaurant rings up and asks for more delivery money on top of what charges i just paid even though I was charged delivery, then the food was an hour late and freezing cold and not what we 0rded the nan bread was burnt will never order from here again

30 minutes late without any communication until I chased them via Just Eat at 6.45pm when they changed the "delivered at 6.30pm, enjoy your food" message to "being delivered at 6.55pm" . However, the food was very good and excellent value.

was nice tasting food, Tandoori King prawn could have been bigger portion for the price. but overall good, nice chunky chicken in samosas, lovely mushroom pilau rice and extra yogurt dip and completely chicken Dahl.

Had the special set meal for one the Balti chicken makani was beautiful 😍 great deal & especially the 20% off on a Tuesday however the price is cheap anyway & the food is quality. The food arrived even quicker than was expected. Will be using this place instead of anywhere in Hastings from now on. Had a delivery this evening. Ordered set meal for 2 and swapped the methi lamb to lamb madras . Swapped naan to keema naan . Had chicken korma 2 x Pilau rice Bombay aloo Chicken tikka starter Vegetable curry Mint sauce Onion salad/salad Poppadoms . Food arrived packed perfectly, hot and tasted great .
